Abstract

The invention relates to a floor-care appliance with automatically adjusting vertical position of the brush-body rotary shaft. The shaft is placed in rotation via a drive belt from a motor, which shaft is borne by a rocker which is swingable as a function of the load on the brushes and is acted on in brush application position, and, in order to obtain a simplified construction with optimally constant work output, the rocker is swingable by the tension of the drive belt and has a deflection point which, from below, deflects the bottom-side pulling course of the drive belt.

Description

The invention relates to a floor care device according to the preamble of claim 1.

From DE-A-3017072 a floor care device of the type assumed is known, the height of the brush body axis of rotation being adjusted via the torque of the drive motor. For this purpose, it is necessary to mount the drive motor in a rotatably mounted manner and to couple it to the rocker arm via a pin / slot engagement, which leads to a constructionally complex design.

The object of the invention is based on the object of specifying a generic floor care device in which the structure is simplified and the production costs are reduced in such a way that an optimal constant work performance is achieved in the case of brush wear.

This problem is solved by the characterizing part of claim 1.

As a result of such an embodiment, the construction of a generic floor care device is simplified, which permits cost-saving production. Nevertheless, the floor care device works with optimal, constant work performance. The height of the brush body axis of rotation depends on the tension of the drive belt. E.g. the tension of the drive belt is lower, resulting from insufficient brush pressure, the rocker swivels and brings the brush body axis of rotation closer to the ground to be worked. If the brush pressure is too great, on the other hand, the tension of the drive belt increases, which also displaces the rocker arm in such a way that the axis of the brush body moves away from the carpet. The swing arm-side deflection point, which comes into contact with the floor-side train run, is used to control the swing arm. Different tensile stresses on this lead to a corresponding pivoting of the rocker.

An advantageous development can be seen in the fact that the deflection point is designed as a tensioning roller. This design works very sensitively and brings good work results with reduced friction.

In order to be able to adapt the floor care device to carpets of different structures, for example, the rocker arm is loaded by an adjustable spring against the torque resulting from the tension of the drive belt.

It proves to be favorable here that the spring is designed as a torsion spring and engages a curved toothing of the rocker arm via a toothed wheel. This results in a favorable damping effect, particularly when the floor care device is switched on. The gear drive does not adversely affect the swing arm mounting.

Um einen Schlupf des Antriebriemens beim Verschwenken der Schwinge auszuschalten, ist auch das entgegengesetzt laufende Trumm desIn order to eliminate slippage of the drive belt when pivoting the rocker arm, the opposite running trump is also the

Antriebriemens von einer Spannrolle der Schwinge belastet.Drive belt loaded by an idler pulley.

Setting the different tension of the drive belt is made easier by the fact that the adjustable spring is assigned a display scale.

Finally, there is an advantageous feature that the rocker acts on a limit switch in the end regions of its pivoting movement and on the other hand strikes against stops.

The latter ensure that the swing arm does not leave its intended position even when it is at rest. When working with the floor care device, the limit switch is used to stop the motor if the drive belt is too tight - for example, caused by excessive brush pressure or a blockage. The user of the floor care device thus has the option of eliminating the malfunction or setting a different brush pressure value. This measure protects the motor against overload with particularly simple means.

Nachstehend wird ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung anhand der Fig. 1-3 erläutert. Es zeigt: Fig. 1 in etwa natürlichem Massstab strichpunktiert ein Gehäuse einer Teppichkehrmaschine, welche beiderseits der Antriebsstelle fliegend ausladende Bürstenkörper aufweist, wobei bei einem Bürstenkörper zwecks vereinfachter Darstellung die Borsten nicht veranschaulicht sind;An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to FIGS. 1-3. 1 shows, on an approximately natural scale, in dash-dot lines, a housing of a carpet sweeping machine which has brush bodies which are cantilevered on both sides of the drive point, the bristles not being illustrated in a brush body for the purpose of simplified illustration;

Fig. 2 in schematisierter Darstellung einen Längsschnitt durch den Bürstenkörper-Antrieb in der Ruhestellung, undFig. 2 shows a schematic representation of a longitudinal section through the brush body drive in the rest position, and

Fig. 3 is a representation corresponding to FIG. 2, namely when the carpet sweeper is in operation with the rocker moved and thus the brush body axis of rotation raised.

The carpet sweeper has a dash-dotted, approximately T-shaped housing 1. An electric motor 2 is accommodated in the T-web, while the T-bar 3 accommodates brush bodies 4, 5 which are exposed on both sides of the drive point. Bristles 6 are provided in a helical arrangement on the brush bodies 4, 5. Furthermore, an end ring consisting of bristles 7 is located on the end of the brush bodies.

The brush bodies 4, 5 sit on a brush body axis of rotation 8, which carries a drive pulley 9 in the center. The brush body axis of rotation 8 passes through the end of a rocker arm 10 of a rocker arm 12 rotatably mounted about a pivot pin 11 on the housing side. The other swing arm 14 is equipped with curved teeth 15 which are concentric with the journal 11. A stepped end 16 adjoins the curved toothing. The two layers of the end are also connected to one another by a bridge 17.

A drive belt 19 is placed around the drive wheel 18 of the electric motor 2 and the pulley 9. The pulling run 19 ′ leading from the drive wheel 18 to the pulley 9 is buckled by a tensioning roller 20 mounted on the swing arm 14. The tensioning roller 20 is seated on a pin 21, which runs in a vertical slot 22 of the swing arm 14 and is fastened there at a certain height. A tensioning roller 23 is also assigned to the counter-running run 19 ″.

The curved toothing 15 interacts with a gear 25. The latter is supported on the one hand in a bearing block 26 of the housing 1 and on the other hand in a drum 27, which in turn continues in a journal 28 mounted on the housing. At the drum-side end 25 'of the gear 25, a torsion spring 29 engages, which in turn is fixed to the inner wall of the drum 27. By rotating the drum 27 by means of a lever 30 arranged on the pin 28, a torque can be exerted on the gearwheel in the direction of the arrow x, which leads to a pivoting of the rocker in the direction of the arrow y. As a result, the tensioning roller 20 is pressed with a certain force against the run 19 ′ of the drive belt 19. A stop 31, against which the end 16 of the swing arm 14 occurs, limits this movement. In opposition to the stop 31, a further stop, not shown, can extend. There is also a limit switch 32, the stylus 33 of which is at a certain distance from the rocker end 16.

This results in the following mode of operation: After the carpet sweeper is switched on, the drive wheel 18 rotates counterclockwise. The brush bodies experience the same direction of rotation via the drive belt 19. The kinked strand 19 'located between the electric motor 2 and the brush body is subjected to tension and thus strives to get into the stretched position. A pressure is exerted on the tensioning roller 20, which leads to a pivoting of the rocker 12 into the position according to FIG. 3. At the same time, the distance between the brush body axis of rotation 8 and the surface of a carpet 34 increases. Before the carpet sweeper is switched on or while working, the bristle pressure can be adjusted via the lever 30. A display scale 35 facilitates the setting of the desired bristle pressure. If the bristle pressure exceeds the predetermined value, this leads to the strand 19 ′ being tensioned more, which leads to a pivoting of the rocker 12 in the clockwise direction via the tensioning roller 20. The brush body axis of rotation 8 is thus at a greater distance from the carpet 34. A reduction in the tension of the run 19 ′, for example caused by wear of the bristles, on the other hand leads to a pivoting of the rocker counterclockwise. The bristles then press harder against the carpet 34 while increasing the tensile stress to the predetermined value.

If, for example, the brush bodies 4, 5 block, the tension of the pulling strand 19 ′ increases, the rocker swings and then acts with its rocker arm 14 on the limit switch 32, which stops the rotary movement of the electric motor 2.

When the carpet sweeper is switched on, the suddenly occurring greater tension on the pulling strand 19 ′ is absorbed by the torsion spring 29 via the gear drive. Damping occurs and the swing arm is then returned to the specified position by the gear drive via the torsion spring.
