Description

An Arrangement for a Door Case
The present invention relates to an arrangement for a doorframe which is intended preferably for use with a fire door, and which consists of a plurality of door case profile sections which can be connected to each other and which preferably have an open profile shape.
The main object of the present invention is primaril to provide an arrangement of the above-mentioned type which makes rational fabrication of the door case possible, preferably on the site where the door case is to be fixed in an opening in a wall or the like. A further object is to provide a door case which consists of few parts, which is simple to assemble, and in which it is possible to connect and lock the sections to each other effectively The said object is achieved by an arrangement accord ing to the present invention which is essentially characte ised in that the said door case profile sections have a receiving part in the vicinity of the corners, shaped as a channel and designed to receive one end section of an L-shaped connecting reinforcement which bridges round the corner of the door case concerned, and they also have a plurality of connecting elements which can co-act with each other.
The invention is described in the following by way of an embodiment example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, on which: Figure 1 shows a door case constructed according to the present invention, viewed in perspective, at an angle from the front,
Figure 2 shows a corner section of the door case, viewed in the direction from the outer face of the corner, one part of the door case and a connecting reinforcement being shown partly sectioned,
Figure 3 shows the lower part of a door case profile section, together with a door case floor fixing adapted to the said section, Figure 4 shows part of a sill which is connected to a door case floor fixing and the lower part of a door case section,
Figure 5 shows part of a corner of the door case with a connecting reinforcement inserted in it,
Figure 6 shows the corner part of a flat piece of sheet metal whcch is designed to be bent to form an upper horizontal door case section of the door case,
Figure 7 shows the corner part of the door case in its connected state, but with the connecting reinforcement omitted,
Figure 8 shows the upper corner part of a flat piece of sheet metal which is designed to be bent to form the vertical door case section of the door case, Figure 9 shows a flat piece of sheet metal material which is designed to be bent to form a connecting reinforcement,
Figure 10 is a cross-section view of one end of a door case section, and shows clearly how the connecting reinforcement is connected thereto,
Figure 11 shows the lower end of the sheet metal blank in the flat state, which is designed to be bent to form a vertical door case section,
Figure 12 shows in perspective a frame side edge section, viewed from one side and one end thereof,
Figure 13 shows in perspective a frame side edge section, viewed from its other side and end,
Figure 14 shows in perspective a connecting reinforcement viewed looking onto the two sides thereof, Figure 15 shows in perspective a sill, viewed from its two respective sides, and
Figure 16 shows in perspective a door case floor fixin A door case profile section 1 or 2 according to the present invention is exceptionally suitable for manufacture from a flat piece of metal 1A or 2A respectively, made of steel, for example, by producing the desired shaping on the res ective ends of the arts b stam in for example. At the same time, the connecting elements 3, 4 are stamped or shaped in some other way, in the form of, for example, tongues 3 and preferably slot-shaped cut-outs 4 adapted to the tongues, at the said ends of the parts 1A and 2A res pectively. Tongue-shaped connecting elements 5 are also stamped out along the said edge part of the respective parts 1A and 2A.
After the stamping operation, the blanks 1A and 2A respectively are bent along bending lines 6 - 10 extending along their long sides in the longitudinal direction of the parts. Expediently, the profile sections 1 and 2 will be shaped identically on their two respective longitudinal edges, and Figures 3 and 10 show clearly the cross-section shape of the profiles on one of their long side edges. Channel shaped receiving sections 11, which preferably have planar walls 11A facing towards the inside of the channel, are therefore formed along the two respective long side edges of the respective door case profile sections, located, at a mutual distance from each other and extending in the longitudinal direction along the respective door case sections 1 and 2.
A connecting reinforcement 12 which is designed to effect the connection of the door case profile sections 1 and 2 respectively in the vicinity of the two upper corners 14 of the proposed door case 13, by the ends of a vertical and a horizontal door case profile section 1 or 2 respectively, is made in an L-shape. Preferably, the said connecting reinforcement is produced from a metal sheet 12A which is cut out by stamping, for example, so that it is given the flat shape shown in Figure 9. At the same time, the openings 15 are stamped out of the plate 12A, these openings 15 being designed to form receiving slots for the said tongue-shaped connecting elements 5 which are disposed along the respective edges of the long sides of the door case profile sections 1 and 2 respectively. After this, the plate 12A is bent and/or folded along bending lines 18 - 21 extending from the angular co 16 of the plate in the longitudinal direction of the two angled legs 17 on the" reinforcement 12, so that the con necting reinforcement 12 is endowed with an at least approximately 5 -shaped cross-section shaping. The connecting reinforcement 12 thus has two corner edges 22 and 23 respectively which face away from each other and the function of which will be explained later.
Connecting up the door case profile sections 1, 2 so that they form a door case 13 is accomplished by inserting into each of the said channel-shaped receiving parts 11 on, for example, a vertical door case profile section one of the angular legs 17 of a connecting reinforcement 12 so that the said corner edges 22 or 23 on the said connecting reinforcement are pressed together somewhat and, due to the spring characteristics of the material, strive to move apart from each other in the connected state, and to rest against the inwards facing walls 11A of the receiving part. After this, the said door case profile section 1 and the connecting reinforcement 12 are connected to each other by bending the tongue 5 on the relevant door case profile section 1 into the appropriate corresponding receiving hole 15 in the connecting reinforcement 12. Next, the remaining free leg 17 of the respective connecting reinforcements 12 which are held securely in the said position in the vicinit of a corner 14 of the door case 13 in question, is inserted in a corresponding channel-shaped receiving space 11 on the horizontal door case profile section 2 in the above-described manner. It is now ensured at the same time that the connecting elements 3, 4 which are disposed at the respective short ends of the door case profile section are connected to each other by inserting the tongues 3 in the slots 4, for example, and thereafter bending them so that the two door case profile sections 1, 2 are connected to each other. Further locking is accomplished by bending the tongues on the horizontal section 2 so that they are introduced into the openings 15 on the respective connecting reinforcement 12. A further vertical door case profile section 1 is connected to the remaining free end of the horizontal door case profile section 2 in the above- mentioned way with the aid of a plurality of further con necting reinforcements 12.
The door case 13 connected together in this way to form a U-shape is connected to the door case floor fixing 24 in the vicinity of the downwards facing free ends of the respective vertical door case profile sections 1, in that each of the hollow cross-section parts of the section is designed to receive an upright-type fixing element 26 which can be engaged round, projecting upwards from a floor plate 25, being connected to the plate 25 by welding for example. Each of the channel-shaped receiving parts 111 on the lower ends of the two said door case profile sections are designed to engage round an end part 27 on the said respective door case floor fixing 24. The connection and locking of a door case floor fixing 24 to a door case profile section 1 is accomplished by means of tongue-shaped connecting elements 5 which can be bent and which are designed to be inserted, after bending round, in openings 28, in the direction of the arrow 29 which is shown on the drawing in Figure 3.
After this, the door case 13 with its associated floor fixings 24 is set into the opening 30 in a wall, for example, where it is desired to fix it, preferably to support a fire door. The fixing of the door case 13 is expediently accomplished in a similar way to that described in SE Patent Application 8104185-7, the joint between the wall opening 30 and the door case 13 being covered by means of suitable covering strips.
The door case 13 is fixed to the floor with the aid of screivs which are inserted through openings 31 in the plates 25 on the two door case floor fixing 24. Via projecting tongue-shaped parts 33 on its respective ends, a sill 32, which is preferably produced by bending a stamped plate into the shape shown in Figure 4, is designed to be inserired in the corner parts of the door case, and to rest against the floor plate 25 so that the side edge surface 34 of the profile section which faces in towards the door opening 30 rests against and coacts with the end edge part of the sill 32. The fixing of the sill 32 to the floor is accomplished with the aid of screws 35 which are inserted through holes 36 in the door sill 32. The said door case 13 is dismantled by reversing the operations described above.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment which is described above and shown on the drawings merely by way of example, but its details may be modified within the framework of the following Patent Claims.
