Definitions
- the invention relates to a light projector with a screen in front of a connection socket of an insertable plug of a fiber optic cable, the proximal plug end of which is reduced in diameter and surrounded by a heat sink.
- Optical fibers are combined into a bundle for connection to a light projector and permanently connected to one another by a glass cement.
- the fibers thus fixed in the connector close on the proximal, the light projector facing end with the end face of the reduced connector part. If the light beam from a light projector is now radiated into the end face of such a fiber optic cable, this leads to a considerable heating of the plug, depending on the power of the light projector.
- the object of the invention is therefore to avoid heat build-up in the region of the front light entry into the plug in light projectors of very high light output and with a connection socket for the plug of a fiber optic cable of any cross section.
- a second task is that the projector should only emit light when the cable plug is fully inserted and secured in the connector, thereby eliminating eye injuries during operation.
- the former object is achieved according to the invention in the light projector mentioned at the outset in that the cable plug inserted into the connection socket mounted in a ring bearing and secured in its inserted position is attached to it Reduced in diameter proximal end of several, advantageously three, metallic cooling jaws in the form of cylindrical ring segments rests radially inward, which is supported by a gradation of the thicker plug part against the shoulders of the cooling jaws against a suspension at an axial distance from the ring bearing Connection socket can be pressed.
- the cooling jaws are advantageously provided with radial cooling plates which emit heat to the environment, and in addition the proximal light entry surface of the plug and also the cooling jaws themselves are cooled by a directed cooling jet.
- the procedure according to the invention is such that the connection socket has a driver which, when the socket is rotated, takes along a pivot lever attached to the shaft, thereby pivoting the shaft out an aperture from the light beam of the projector , but it is necessary that this process can only be triggered when the plug is fully inserted into the socket and axially secured. So the aperture remains in the beam path and can only be pivoted out of the beam path by rotating the connecting socket provided with the inserted plug into an axially secured position.
- a fiber optic cable is provided at the proximal end facing a light projector with a plug 1, which is formed at the end as a connector part 2 with a reduced diameter and in whose end face 2a the light of a projector is irradiated.
- the plug part 2 merges over a step into a part 3 of larger diameter, which is provided with an annular groove 4 to be described in the meaning.
- the fibers are firmly connected to one another by a glass cement.
- the condenser system is indicated by 6 from a light projector having a high light output with a support plate 5 receiving a connecting socket and the condenser system.
- the structure of light projectors is generally known and is therefore not shown in detail.
- a ring bearing 9 is fixed in a carrier 8, in which a connection socket 10 with the handle ring 11 lying in front of the front plate is rotatably supported to a limited extent.
- a locking pin consisting of two parts 12 and 13 is supported, which is under tension radially inward by an external surrounding spring 14 and engages axially lockingly in the annular groove 4 when the plug 1 is inserted into the socket 1o .
- the pin 12, 13 which locks the socket 1o against rotation is displaced from the position according to FIGS. 1 and 4 by the enlarged plug part 3 into the position according to FIG. 5, in which the socket 1o is still against rotation is locked in the ring bearing 9 until the pin part 12 can engage in the ring groove 4 of the plug 1 as shown in FIG.
- the connector socket 1o is provided at its end with an outer circumferential step 2o (FIGS. 1 and 1a), the circumference of which has three flats 21 (FIGS. 2 and 3).
- gradation 2o engage one end of axially parallel pins 22, which are without inserted plug 1 against the gradation scope 2o (Fig. 2).
- the other ends of the pins 22 are immovably fixed in the axial bores of three cooling jaws 23, which have a first distance between them when the plug 1 is not inserted, as shown in FIG. 2, and which are loaded radially inwards by a helical spring 24 running around the circumference are.
- These cooling jaws 23 are in the starting position according to FIGS.
- the reduced-diameter plug part 2 enters the space inside between the cooling jaws 23, while the plug part 3 fills the space in the socket 1o.
- the cooling jaws 23 have at the end facing the condenser system 6 an inwardly directed annular shoulder 30 of low height, against which the end face 2a of the plug 1 comes into contact when inserted into the socket 10 and between the cooling jaws 23 and thus the cooling jaws 23 by a certain length axially against the cushioning 27 until the locking pin 12, 13 engages in the annular groove 4 of the connector socket 3. This creates a distance between the cooling jaws 23 and the end face of the ring bearing 9, which prevents direct heat transfer between these parts 23 and 9,1o.
- the cooling jaws 23 can be completely against the circumference by the radially directed effect of the annular spring 24 and the axial centering by the plug part 2 with its inner surface parts of the plug part 2 are brought into contact, so that the cooling jaws are able to effectively dissipate the heat developing in this plug part in particular by the radiated light of high intensity, which is favored by the fact that the cooling jaws 23 are provided with radially directed cooling plates 31 are, and also in that the end face 2a of the connector part 2 and the adjacent surface parts of the cooling jaws 23 are blown by a cooling air flow of a cooling air supply 32.
- the cooling jaws 23 take up a second small distance from one another in order to ensure a flat contact with the coupling part 2. Length deviations of the plug parts 23 can be compensated for by axially displacing the socket 10.

Description
The invention relates to a light projector with a screen in front of a connection socket of an insertable plug of a fiber optic cable, the proximal plug end of which is reduced in diameter and surrounded by a heat sink.
Optical fibers are combined into a bundle for connection to a light projector and permanently connected to one another by a glass cement. The fibers thus fixed in the connector close on the proximal, the light projector facing end with the end face of the reduced connector part. If the light beam from a light projector is now radiated into the end face of such a fiber optic cable, this leads to a considerable heating of the plug, depending on the power of the light projector. Due to the use of fiber optic cables, both with a thin and thick fiber bundle cross section, it is necessary to focus the light beam by means of a condenser system on relatively thin fiber bundle cross sections in order to be able to transmit the highest possible light output. Since fiber optic cables with a relatively large fiber bundle cross-section result in a very rapid temperature rise, particularly in the area of frontal radiation, due to the low radially outward heat dissipation of the glass fibers, this leads to an additional temperature increase due to the high heat absorption of the cement by UV rays from the projector light . As a result, the glass putty located between the fibers of the connector is liquefied and emerges from the individual fiber spaces with subsequent combustion and blackening of the fibers, which leads to a further constant increase in temperature with eventual destruction of the connector.
The heating caused by the light of the projector To reduce the diameter of the proximal connector part has already been proposed to insert the proximal, reduced diameter connector part into a bore in an aluminum block with outer cooling fins, in which the light source is arranged. The light is emitted through the hole in the front of the connector (DE-OS 19 28 360). It has been found that this measure ensures neither adequate heat dissipation from the plug nor the avoidance of eye injuries from high-intensity light emerging from the socket, and the use of such heat sinks is restricted to the use of lamps of the proposed type.
The object of the invention is therefore to avoid heat build-up in the region of the front light entry into the plug in light projectors of very high light output and with a connection socket for the plug of a fiber optic cable of any cross section. A second task is that the projector should only emit light when the cable plug is fully inserted and secured in the connector, thereby eliminating eye injuries during operation.
The former object is achieved according to the invention in the light projector mentioned at the outset in that the cable plug inserted into the connection socket mounted in a ring bearing and secured in its inserted position is attached to it Reduced in diameter proximal end of several, advantageously three, metallic cooling jaws in the form of cylindrical ring segments rests radially inward, which is supported by a gradation of the thicker plug part against the shoulders of the cooling jaws against a suspension at an axial distance from the ring bearing Connection socket can be pressed.
This solution ensures that the cooling jaws are securely seated against the circumference of the reduced-diameter plug part, which is particularly exposed to the heat of the steel, and thus flawless cooling and heat dissipation without substantial heat transfer to the ring bearing and the connecting socket. The cooling jaws are advantageously provided with radial cooling plates which emit heat to the environment, and in addition the proximal light entry surface of the plug and also the cooling jaws themselves are cooled by a directed cooling jet.
To solve the above-mentioned object, namely to avoid eye injuries, the procedure according to the invention is such that the connection socket has a driver which, when the socket is rotated, takes along a pivot lever attached to the shaft, thereby pivoting the shaft out an aperture from the light beam of the projector , but it is necessary that this process can only be triggered when the plug is fully inserted into the socket and axially secured. So the aperture remains in the beam path and can only be pivoted out of the beam path by rotating the connecting socket provided with the inserted plug into an axially secured position.

The condenser system is indicated by 6 from a light projector having a high light output with a
Behind the
In radial bores of the
The connector socket 1o is provided at its end with an outer circumferential step 2o (FIGS. 1 and 1a), the circumference of which has three flats 21 (FIGS. 2 and 3). In the gradation 2o engage one end of axially
When the
