Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Tiefdruckplatte mit einer auf einem dimensionsstabilen, biegsamen Träger haftfest aufgebrachten polymeren Druckschicht, die zum Aufspannen auf einen Tiefdruck-Spannzylinder geeignet ist. B. durch ein Raster- oder Strich-Positif oder ein Halbton-Positiv mit Fürhungsraster-Vorlage bildmäßig mit aktinischem Licht belichtet und wobei man anschließend die nicht belichteten Anteile der Schicht unter Ausbildung der Näpfchen- und Rasterstruktur mit Hilfe einer Entwickler-Flüssigkeit auswäscht (vgl. z. B. Die erfindungsgemäßen Tiefdruckplatten werden mittels dieser lichtempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsmaterialien hergestellt, indem in an sich bekannter Weise die photopolymerisierbare Schicht zur Erzeugung der Druckschicht durch eine geeignete Vorlage, z. B. durch ein Raster-oder Strich-Positiv oder ein Halbton-Positiv mit einer Führungsraster-Vorlage, bildmäßig mit aktinischem Licht belichtet wird und unter Ausbildung der Raster- und Näpfchenstruktur die unbelichteten Anteile der Schicht mit Hilfe einer geeigneten Entwickler-Flüssigkeit, in der die unbelichteten Anteile, nicht aber die belichteten Anteile der Schicht löslich sind, ausgewaschen und entfernt werden. In einer bevorzugten, weil sehr einfachen Ausführungsform dieses Verfahrens wird die Belichtung der photopolymerisierbaren Schicht so durchgeführt, daß die photopolymerisierbare Schicht in den später zum Aufspannen der Druckplatte umzukantenden bereichen unbelichtet bleibt, so daß die photopolymere Schicht in diesen Bereichen beim Auswaschen mit der Entwickler-Flüssigkeit gleichzeitig mit den übrigen unbelichteten Anteilen dieser Schicht mit entfernt wird. Um die erforderliche Präzision und Paßgenauigkeit zu gewährleisten, wird in dieser Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens die Belichtung der photopolymerisierbaren Schicht vorzugsweise über ein Register vorgenommen. Claims (10)

1. A process for the production of a gravure printing plate which can be clamped on a plate cylinder in a gravure printing press and comprises a polymeric printing layer applied onto a dimensionally stable, flexible base, wherein the polymeric printing layer is removed from those areas of the base which are to be canted to enable the plate to be clamped.
2. A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the polymeric printing layer is removed from those areas of the base which are to be canted and then the base is canted.
3. A process as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the canting line which extends over the entire width of the printing plate is skew to the longer sides of the plate.
4. A process as claimed in claim 1 or 2 or 3, wherein the polymeric printing plate is about 100-500 wm thick.
5. A process as claimed in claim 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, in which a photosensitive recording material comprising a photopolymerizable layer applied onto a dimensionally stable, flexible base is employed, wherein the photopolymerizable layer is exposed imagewise to actinic light through a suitable photographic positive in order to produce the printing layer, the non-exposed areas of the layer are then washed out with the aid of a developer in which the non-exposed areas are soluble and the exposed areas insoluble, and the layer is removed, down to the base, in those areas which have to be canted to enable the plate to be clamped on the plate cylinder.
6. A process as claimed in claim 5, wherein exposure of the photopolymerizable layer is carried out in a manner such that the areas to be canted are not exposed, and these areas are also removed on washing out with the developer.
7. A process as claimed in claim 6, wherein exposure of the photopolymerizable layer is carried out using an indexing device.
8. A gravure printing plate which can be clamped on a plate cylinder in a gravure printing press and comprises a polymeric printing layer applied onto a dimensionally stable, flexible base, wherein, in the areas to be canted to enable the plate to be clamped on the plate cylinder, the base is free from the polymeric printing layer.
9. A gravure printing plate as claimed in claim 8, wherein the polymeric printing layer is about 100-500 µm thick.
10. A gravure printing plate as claimed in claims 8 and 9, wherein the canting line which extends over the entire width of the printing plate and up to which the base is free from the polymeric printing layer is skew to the longer sides of the plate.
