Description

The invention relates to a metering device with a container with a sieve arranged on the underside for the passage of flock in the form of rod-shaped bulk material and a brush roller arranged within the container over its entire width, consisting essentially of a rotatably drivable in the container via at both ends each in a container wall arranged bearing eyes mounted shaft and a plurality of evenly distributed in the circumferential direction and substantially radially directed bristle-bearing brush strips, which are held by several in a rotatably arranged for supporting the brush strips on the shaft distribution brush holder.

A metering device of the type described above belongs to the prior art. Such metering devices are used in machines for coating surfaces with so-called flock. The flock is obtained as rod-shaped bulk material and is brushed by the brush roller arranged in a rotatably drivable manner through a sieve arranged on the underside of the container. After the flock has passed the sieve, it is aligned in an electrostatic field and then falls on a correspondingly prepared underlay to be coated, such as B. a base for a carpet.

To achieve a good coating quality, it is necessary that the aligned flock is applied in as uniform a quantity as possible per area, so that a uniform coating density is produced.

The known devices do not allow to vary the coating density, and reach beyond the length of the citizens' stenwalze no uniform coating density. Different deflections of the shaft of the brush roller, different deflections of the bristles of the brush strip, deformations of the brush screen and many other influences prevent a satisfactorily uniform coating density.

The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a metering device with which a very uniform coating density of a substrate to be coated or a distribution density of the desired profile is achieved.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in a metering device of the type described at the outset in that at least some of the existing brush strip carriers have devices for concave and / or convex bending of the brush strip carriers in the radial direction and for clamping them in the set up position.

With the help of a suitable deflection of the brush holder, it is possible to compensate for the effects of a screen deformation or the shaft deflection of the drive shaft of the brush roller and other effects of irregularities. In addition, it becomes possible to consciously generate a certain distribution of the coating density.

Two devices according to FR-A-2118 144 and GB-A-1 142039 are known, in which a uniform coating density is sought. Bending of the brush holder is not provided. Any distribution density of the desired profile is also not possible.

According to one embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the brush strip carriers have disk-shaped receiving elements with receiving slots arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference and open radially outwards, in whose radially inward-lying bottom positionally variable push-off elements and at least one leg with at least one tangential component variable-position clamping elements for bending and clamping the brush strips are provided. This is a particularly simple construction of the brush roller, which allows simple alignment of the brush strips with simple means and which also ensures easy replacement of the brush strips.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that screws are provided as push-off elements and clamping elements, which are arranged in correspondingly arranged threaded bores in the receiving slots of the disk-shaped receiving elements. This is the simplest possible way to achieve a suitable deflection of the brush strips. At the same time, this option is extremely inexpensive, because screws are standard elements and the production of threaded holes is problem-free in terms of production technology.

Again according to an embodiment of the invention it is proposed that at least one bearing point of the shaft mounted in bearing eyes can be moved and locked at least in the direction perpendicular to the screen. In this way, an additional slight adjustment to the length of the bristles of the brush strips is possible and, for example, one-sided bristle wear can be compensated for or the deflection of the brush strips can be overlaid in the desired manner by an additional adjustment.

In a supplementary embodiment of the invention it is provided that at least one bearing eye is rotatably and fixably mounted in a bore which is fixed or fixable relative to the container wall, the bearing surface for the bearing of the shaft and the bearing surface with which the bearing eye is supported in the bore, are arranged eccentrically to each other. As a result, the drive shaft of the brush roller and thus the entire brush roller can assume any desired spatial position in the order of magnitude of the predetermined eccentricity, as a result of which a further influence on the density of the flock trickling out of the metering device can be achieved.

Another embodiment of this adjustment of the position of the shaft provides that the bearing eye has on an outer circumferential surface a ring gear concentric with the bore, which meshes with a rotatable pinion arranged in a flange overlapping the bearing eye, the flange further extending radially onto the bearing eye has acting clamping screw and is attached to the container wall. In this way, a change in the position of the shaft can be brought about very quickly from the outside with the simplest means and the change brought about can be fixed.

Another embodiment of the invention in turn provides that the receiving slots are arranged slightly inclined in the circumferential direction against the direction of rotation. As a result, the bristles of the brush strips are tilted directly into the correct brushing position and the bristles are not caught and crushed on the sieve.

Finally, according to one embodiment of the invention it is also provided that in addition to the brush strip in each receiving slot, a bristle support spring extending over the entire length of the brush strip is arranged in the direction of rotation behind the bristles of the brush strip to support the bristles.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

An outer peripheral surface 23 of the bearing eye 7 has a ring gear 24 concentric with the bore 13. The ring gear 24 is rotatably connected to the bearing eye 7. The bearing eye 7 is enclosed and axially guided by a flange 25 which is fastened to the container wall 6. A pinion 26 is rotatably embedded in the flange 25 so that it can mesh with the ring gear 24. In the flange 25, a screw 34 is rotatably mounted coaxially to the axis of rotation of the pinion 26 and screwed into the pinion 26. The screw 34 has a head with an internal hexagon 35, so that the screw 34 can be rotated with the aid of a corresponding known key over the internal hexagon 35. To set a concave or convex (Figure 9 and Figure 8) or any other deflection of the brush strips 10, the screws 20 are brought into the corresponding radial position in the exemplary embodiment and then the brush strips 10 are inserted into the receiving slots 17 and brought into contact with the screws 20 and then clamped by the screws 21 in this position. With this clamping, the associated bristle support spring 29 is clamped together with each brush strip 10.

In the exemplary embodiment, the receiving slots 17 have an inclination directed against the direction of rotation 28, as a result of which the bristles 9 are subjected to a favorable load and the bristles 9 are not crushed and caught on the sieve 3. To replace the brush strips 10 if necessary together with the bristle support springs 29, only the screws 21 of the disk-shaped receiving elements 16 have to be loosened and the respective brush strip 10 can simply be removed as shown in FIG. 1 above and exchanged for a new one. It is also sensible to occasionally remove and turn the brush strips 10 in order to change the bending direction for the bristles 9.

A further setting option for the position and the size of the bristle pressure on the screen 3 is provided by the bearing eye 7, the bearing surfaces 14 and 15 of which are arranged eccentrically to one another. By rotating the bearing eye 7, a corresponding change in position of the shaft 8 and thus of the brush strips 10 is achieved due to the eccentricity described. In order to carry out such a rotation of the bearing eye 7, the clamping screw 27 with which the bearing eye 7 is clamped is first loosened, so that the bearing eye 7 can now be rotated in the bore 13 of the flange 32. In order to effect the rotation, the screw 34 and thus the pinion 26 rotatably arranged in the flange 25, which meshes with the toothed ring 24, which is non-rotatably connected to the bearing eye 7, is rotated with a known Allen key over the hexagon socket 35. A corresponding rotation of the ring gear 24 and thus of the bearing eye 7 is thus brought about by the rotation of the pinion 26. Since the bearing surface 14 for receiving the roller bearing 33 and via the roller bearing 33 for receiving the shaft 8 is arranged eccentrically to the bearing surface 15, a corresponding displacement of the shaft 8 is achieved by the described rotation of the bearing eye 7. If the cover 22 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the bearing eye 7, it can simultaneously serve as an indicator for the size of the rotary movement and thus for the position of the shaft 8. When the desired setting has been reached, the clamping screw 27 is tightened again and the bearing eye 7 is thus fixed in the desired position.

A very similar bearing point can be provided at the drive end of the shaft 8. Only the cover 22 is omitted so that the shaft 8 can be connected to a drive device.

Figure imgb0001
With a metering device constructed according to the invention, it becomes possible to deliver a quantity of flock continuously flowing into the inlet opening formed by the guide plates 30 and 31 with a distribution density of the desired profile through the sieve 3 to the electrostatic field. So z. B. can be achieved that a uniform density per unit area is achieved over the entire width of the metering device (profile I, Figure 4). It is also possible, for example, to increase the amount of flock per unit area in the area of the lateral ends of the metering device and at the same time to reduce the flock density per unit area in the middle (profile II, FIG. 5). Other distributions of the flock density per unit area can also be achieved. At the same time, the entire dosing device, despite its almost unlimited setting options, is extremely simple in construction and can therefore be controlled by any trained locksmith.
