Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a covering for sports fields, in particular for tennis courts, which has a loose particle bed containing plastic particles on its surface, and a method for producing these plastic particles.
In sports such as tennis, in which the athlete has to do a lot of running work with starting, accelerating and often abruptly braking, lawn areas or, in the so-called hard courts, playgrounds with a surface layer of loosely poured and rolled brick powder have proven their worth. A major advantage of such brick flour places is that the athlete slides slightly with the braking leg in the event of an abrupt braking movement, thereby reducing the peak loads to be absorbed and protecting the joints and ligaments of the legs. On the other hand, elasticity, damping and the friction behavior of a rolled brick dust covering are particularly favorable.
Disadvantages of the brick flour places are the high maintenance effort; the place must be rolled and moistened regularly. If the humidity is too low, there is also a tendency to dust. The brick flour is also subject to constant wear and must be replaced from time to time. For this reason and the need for humidification, which often leads to unpleasant high humidity in closed rooms, the use of such brick dust coverings in closed sports halls In order to avoid the disadvantages of these brick dust coverings, a sports field covering particularly suitable for tennis courts was proposed in CH-A-611 959, in which a backing layer is provided in which stabilizing grains, for example made of rubber, are firmly embedded, which are approximately one third of their height dimension protrude from the support layer. A relatively thin covering layer of fine rubber granulate with a grain size of 0.5 to 1.5 mm is then applied to this carrier layer, which fills the gaps between the stabilizing grains protruding from the carrier layer and covers their tips. If the athlete now pushes off the surface, the tips of the stabilizing grains are gripped by the profile sole of the tennis or sports shoe, which enables, for example, a perfect push when starting. The slight slipping that is desired when braking is ensured by the fine rubber granulate of the cover layer, whereby a greater lateral displacement of the cover layer granules is largely prevented by the stabilizing grains firmly embedded in the support layer. The sports field covering known from CH-A-611959 is, however, quite complex to manufacture.
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a covering for sports fields, in particular for tennis courts, which has a loose bed of plastic particles on its surface, and to provide a method for producing these plastic particles, wherein the covering largely everyone any level solid surface, such as on asphalt, can be applied and removed from it, if necessary, and which is just as pleasant for the athlete when using it as a brick meal place. The invention also achieves the object of specifying an advantageous method for producing plastic particles which are particularly suitable for use in these loose fillings.
The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment explained by several variants.
The applicants have found that a covering according to the invention which has the desired properties can only consist of a loose bed of particles based on an elastic plastic or a crosslinked rubber, if at least the majority of the particles used are in the form of flakes or scales. The elastic plastic is based on a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer and / or a one- or two-component polyurethane system and / or a thermoplastic rubber and / or a modified PVC compound.
The phrase "particles based on an elastic plastic or a crosslinked rubber" is intended to indicate that the particles can contain, in addition to the plastic, fillers, aging agents, stabilizers, processing aids, dyes and / or pigments and inorganic additives in the usual way.
Particles of this type have only a slight tendency to curl, which on the one hand favors a stabilization of the bed on the ground and, on the other hand, when braking conditions of the athlete leads to an increased braking effect with the desired slight sliding. In addition, turning the leg is made much easier.
The bed is advantageously a few millimeters thick. Good results can also be obtained if the bed is only applied to the level solid surface in the form of a finish, whereby the surface of the surface may not be completely covered by the particles, so that the boundary lines applied to the solid surface are still despite the bed are clearly recognizable. The amount of particles applied to these finish beds is advantageously in the range between 0.2 to 0.6 kg / m 2 .
An advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention for producing, in particular, platelet-shaped plastic particles of a geometrically defined shape, which are particularly suitable for use as fill material for the sports field coverings according to the invention, is described in more detail below with reference to the figure.
In the production of the plastic particles, a plastic tape 1 is assumed, the thickness of which is equal to one of the dimensions (for example the thickness) of the particles to be produced. The plastic strip 1 is pulled off the roll and continuously advanced with its
The sports field covering according to the invention will now be explained in more detail on the basis of some advantageous design variants.
Starting from a tape made of a thermoplastic rubber - preferably a thermoplastic polystyrene-butadiene rubber - of a thickness of 0.6 mm, as offered, for example, by the company SHELL CHEMIE, Vienna, platelet-shaped particles are obtained by the process described with the aid of the figure manufactured with an area of 2 x 2 mm. These particles are now poured onto a tennis court, which has a conventional asphalt surface, with an application quantity in the range between 0.2 to 0.6 kg / m 2 and evenly distributed over the tennis court area by means of a broom. Such a tennis court is just as pleasant to play with as a brick flour court, but without having its disadvantages. With a concentrated load by the player, the heaped-up particles move only to a small extent. The space can be removed at any time with the help of a broom to even out the fill. When cleaning the area, the particles and the accumulated dirt can be removed, cleaned and reused with a vacuum cleaner.
Instead of the thermoplastic rubber, a 0.7 mm thick band made of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer is used according to another embodiment of the sports field covering. These preferably consist of polyaddition products of polyesters, diisocyanates and chain extenders, such as those e.g. according to the 400 series from EUROPOLYMERS LTD., England.
According to a further embodiment variant, a tape made of a one- or two-component polyurethane system is used as the starting material for producing the plastic particles. Such a system is e.g. from a modified MDI and an ether-glycol mixture, as it is offered in a cold-curing system of the BAYSPORT type from BAYER, Germany.
According to yet another embodiment variant, the belt used for particle production consists of a modified PVC compound. The modifying agent can be a polyurethane elastomer, e.g. by the company EUROPOLYMERS LTD., England, under the type 707, or a permanent plasticizer based on synthetic resin, as is offered by the company DU PONT, Switzerland, under the type ELVALOY 741.
In a last embodiment, the belt used for particle production consists of a cross-linked polystyrene-butadiene rubber, which is under The use of vulcanizing agents and accelerators, such as the SHELL CHEMICALS Type 1605.
