- the invention relates to a small contactor equipped with a removable auxiliary switch sub-assembly in which the contactor has two parallel rows of aligned main terminals, a hooking plate for a support, a movable piece of electro- magnet, and a fixing surface capable of cooperating with means for fixing the housing of this sub-assembly, the latter comprising a sliding drawer on which are mounted bridges of mobile contacts cooperating with fixed contacts connected to auxiliary terminals and a coupling means able to cooperate with the moving part.
- Such devices are currently presented in various forms which allow their association with a contactor, either on a front face thereof, or on a lateral face. If a block of auxiliary switches is fixed on the front face of a contactor the depth dimension corresponding to this stacking is increased, and it is then not possible to use this association in boxes, such as those used for domestic equipment, the dimensions of which, once fitted, must not exceed a standardized dimension.
- auxiliary switch block If an auxiliary switch block is fixed on a side face perpendicular to the rows of connection terminals, it is no longer possible to place two contactors side by side respecting a regular layout because an infertile, corresponding to the width of the block, will separate two neighboring contactors.
- the invention therefore proposes to provide an auxiliary switch device which is capable of not increasing the overall width or the overall depth of a particular contactor with which it is associated.
- switchgear is not often encountered in which a row of connection terminals relating to auxiliary switches is placed behind the row of connection terminals for the main contactors of the contactor, since the conductor strip leading to the terminals of the main contacts is often considered an obstacle to the installation, connection and fixing of the auxiliary switch block.
- the desired result is achieved thanks to the fact that the housing of the sub-assembly is placed against a face side of the body of the contactor which is parallel to a row of main terminals and which is placed between the fixing plate and insulating partitions separating these main terminals, this housing having on the one hand, at a first end, first means of pivoting hooking cooperating with first holding means placed on the body of the contactor and between the fixing holes of the sole, and on the other hand, at a second end opposite to the first, second hooking means cooperating by elastic deformation with second holding means placed on said body in the immediate vicinity of the row of terminals.
- a small contactor 1 for which the auxiliary contact device 2 of the invention is intended comprises a body 3 having a flat side face 4 comprised between a plurality of parallel isolation partitions 5 serving to separate power terminals 6 aligned in row 16 in a plane Q along an axis XX ′ parallel to this face and a sole 8 serving for its attachment to a support 9.
- this lateral face 4 is a face superior.
- This side face has an oblong opening 10 behind which moves, parallel to it, a moving part of the electromagnet 11 of the contactor which is for example provided with a hole or a notch or a groove of coupling 12 see FIG. 2.
- the sub-assembly of auxiliary switches 2 which is mechanically associated with the contactor comprises, see FIGS. 1 and 3, a housing 13 of prismatic shape which mainly has a planar association face 14 which is applied against the side face 4, a row 15 of auxiliary switch terminals 18, a coupling finger 17 able to cooperate with the notch 12 and centering and fixing means which will be described below.
- the row of auxiliary terminals 15 is placed parallel to the row 16 of power terminals when the housing fixed to the body 3 is in another plane P.
- Centering means which make it possible to give the housing a very precise position relative to the body are constituted by two projecting parallel wings 19, 20 of the housing which penetrate into two parallel grooves 21, 22 of the body 3, the latter being arranged on two faces opposite lateral sides 23, 24 which are perpendicular to and end at the upper lateral face 4, see FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the means for fixing the housing to the body comprise on the one hand pins 25, 26 which are placed at one end 27 of the housing and which engage in notches 28, 29 of the body 3 placed on or in the vicinity of the sole 8 and on the other hand, elastic hooks 30, 31 which are placed at an opposite end 36 and which cooperate with the flanges 32, 33 placed in the vicinity of the isolation partitions 5; in a preferred embodiment, the notches 28, 29 are placed in the vicinity of the fixing holes 34, 35 of the sole 8 and between these and the flanges 32, 33 are placed on two opposite external partitions 5 'respectively 5 ", see figures 2, 3 and 4.
- the housing is attached to the body, see FIGS. 2, 5a and 5b, by first presenting the end 27 in the vicinity of the sole 8 to establish pivoting cooperation between the pins 25, 26 and the notches 28 , 29 and then folding back, in the direction of the arrow G, the opposite end 36 which pivots around the axis ZZ 'passing through the notches towards the isolation partitions 5 and until it is snap-fitted with the partitions 5 'and 5 ".
- the housing 2 of the sub-assembly of auxiliary switches comprises a cover 59 and a half-housing 62 which has a substantially central partition 37 which is parallel to the association face 14 and which divides the housing into a first open external volume 47 receiving the auxiliary terminals 18 and in a second closed internal volume 38 in which are arranged: two movable contact bridges 39, 40 able to cooperate with two pairs of fixed contacts 41 respective ment 42, a control slide 43 able to move the contact bridges, contact pressure tessorts 44, 45 which are respectively associated with each contact bridge, and a return spring 46 which gives the drawer 43 a rest position , see Figures 6, 7 and 8.
- the fixed contacts are carried by parallel and reversible conductive parts such as 48 which pass through the central partition 37 in such a way that the pads of the fixed contacts (and therefore subsequently the pads of the bridges of mobile contact) being placed in the same plane R parallel to said partition.
- the control slide 43 is used to actuate auxiliary switches with closing F or auxiliary switches with opening O.
- contact bridges such as 40, as well as pressure springs 45, are respectively housed in each of two parallel frames 49, 50 placed at opposite ends 51, 52 of the drawer 43, on either side.
- a central cavity 53 of axis YY '; these bridges are therefore in the plane SS 'visible in FIG. 7.
- This cavity 53 serves to receive a movable end of a weak return spring 46 whose other end, fixed, will rest on a wall 68 of the half housing 62, see Figures 8 and 9 and its outer surface 73 will be used to operate the guide of the drawer, as specified below.
- Such contact bridges having the function F move, when the drawer is associated with the half-housing, in a first region 54 placed between the fixed contacts 42 and the end 36 of the housing.

- a movable contact 40 of type F switch is guided in a frame 50, the pressure spring then being supported on an upper cross member 50 'and the contact bridge 40 coming to bear on a lower cross member 50 ", while a movable bridge contact 39 of type 0 switch comes to bear on an opposite side of the lower cross member 49 "under the effect of a pressure spring 44 placed between this contact bridge and the bottom 56; wings such as 57, 57 'and 58, 58' serve to guide such a contact bridge laterally, see FIGS. 8 and 9.
- a cover 59 which has an oblong opening 60 to deliver passage to the actuating finger 17, could carry the elastic hooks 30, 31 and the guide wings 19, 20, in view, on the one hand, of having only small dimensional dispersions and, on the other hand, of being made of a material compatible with the elastic functions of the hooks .
- thermo-plastic material All the elements of this sub-assembly 2 will advantageously be made by molding a thermo-plastic material, using those of them which are more particularly suitable for obtaining good electrical insulation and respectively for obtaining an elasticity compatible with the function of the hooks.
