Abstract

The mast arrangement consists in anchoring the masts (5, 6) along the starboard and port rails (1, 2), with a spacing proportional to the size of the sails and of the boat. It consists in positioning and anchoring the masts on the port and starboard plankings. <IMAGE>

Description

The object of the invention relates to a masting device for sailboats.

It consists in positioning and setting up the masts on the port and starboard plating.

Sailboats to date have had a mast positioned in line with the deck and the main mast touched the internal facing of the keel. As a result, most of the deck surface was unusable and the free spaces had to be reserved for maneuvers, moreover the holds were congested. The sails themselves had maximum dimensions.

The device according to the invention eliminates these drawbacks and firstly makes it possible to free the entire deck from front to rear as well as the holds, then to reduce the mast heights and the sail surfaces, while balancing the ship made practically unbreakable.

It consists of the installation of the mast along the starboard and port side rails, in a spacing proportional to the size of the wing and the boat.

It is arranged along the port and starboard railings 1, 2, sleeves 3, 4 receiving the masts 5, 6.

These sleeves, depending on the size of the ship Fig 3, 4, are distributed on each rail according to the spacings 7, 8, 9 and 10, 11, 12.

The airfoils are fixed so as to release the bridge 13 which can be fully used to receive such complementary, utility or other accessories.

The wind catching surfaces 14, 15, 16, 17 and the like are multiplied, so that with the sails of smaller bulk, it is possible to reach forward speeds higher than those obtained to date with ordinary sails.

Finally, following this distribution, a balance and stability are obtained, making the ship practically unbreakable. The variation in the depth of the mast allows its height adjustment.

Auxiliary motors can be combined with the sails. In addition, the mast is fully removable and interchangeable to vary the size of the elements.

The prop sails can be placed between the masts. Multiple combinations of uses are possible.

The shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements may vary within the limit of the equivalents, like the materials used for their manufacture, without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.

Claims (3)

1. Mast device for sailboats making it possible to free all the usable surfaces of the deck, to reduce the height of the masts and of the sail surfaces, to increase safety, stability and balancing, characterized by the implantation masts (5, 6) on the port and starboard rail (1, 2) so as to fully release the deck (13). 2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the masts (5, 6) and the like are fixed in sleeves (3, 4) fixed along the rails (1, 2). 3. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the masts (7 to 12) are of reduced height and the surface sails (14, 15, 16, 17) also reduced.
