Definitions

  • This invention relates to a trolley for carrying and transport of a golf bag, whereby the trolley comprises a frame, a handle member, which is connected to the frame, wheels for the removal of the trolley and wheel mountings, which are arranged between the wheels and the frame.
  • the trolley is shaped so that exists a possibility to exchange the parts of the trolley.
  • Known golf trolleys show a frame with a grasp rigid to the frame. Said trolleys are shaped with complicated wheel mountings consisting of legs and links, which are turnable but often even movable relative to the frame of the trolley and sometimes even turnable and movable with one another. This for attaining a collapsible trolley, which for instance results in that the trolleys are ramshackled, which in turn leads to the fact that frames, links and the like and theirs joints are subjected to greater wearing out with one another resulting in breakage in materials. Besides, the constructions of known trolleys show thin dimensions concerning frames, links and the like, which is of necessity for the function and use of the trolleys. This also often results in breakage in the material of the trolleys. Such breakage can sometimes be repaired but for repairing a welding set is required. Exchange of parts of the trolleys is not possible because of the shaping of the known trolleys.
  • the shape given to the trolley in accordance with this invention leads to that fact that the trolley can be fully constructed with abundant dimensioning, whereby the shape is simple and absolute and the trolley is shaped with a simple construction, which results in an aesthetical trolley.
  • the trolley which is rigid, stiff and in shape stable.
  • the trolley is collapsible by hand, which is easy to execute.
  • the trolley is also easy to manufacture and to assemble. Further, the trolley shows such a construction, that the different constructional components are easy to dismantle for exchanging the components by spare parts, if it is necessary.
  • the trolley is also convertible for individual adaption and balance, which can be accomplished by a simple hand grip, whereby the grasp of the trolley is adjustable in lenght and direction.
  • the trolley according to the invention is characterized in that, that the frame, the handle member and the wheel mountings consist of tube profiles, that the handle member is arranged adjustable into the frame and that the wheel mountings consist of bows, forks or the like, whereby at least one bow or fork is arranged into rigid connection with the frame.
  • Reference 1 of the drawing indicates a frame consisting of a straight, square shaped tube, which end portions show supporting members 6, 7 for a golf bag mounted on the trolley.
  • a support plate 8 for the golf bag is arranged in connection to one of the ends of the frame. Said end of the frame is formed as a support leg for the trolley, when the trolley is in a resting position.
  • the frame 1, the supporting members 6, 7 and the support plate 8 are preferably made of aluminium and compose means for holding the golf bag and provide a cradle support for the golf bag, which can rest against said means.
  • a handle member 2 and wheel mountings 3, 4 for wheels 5 are arranged to the frame. Said handle member 2 and wheel mountings 3, 4 consist of square shaped tubes preferably made of aluminium.
  • the handle member 2 is arranged adjustable in length relative to the frame 1 and according to the example the handle member is arranged for sliding movement into and out of the frame. By this, the trolley can be adjusted in length after the person or golf-player using the trolley, whereby the trolley can be adjusted for individual balance in relation to the user.
  • the handle member 2 shows a grasp- 9, which is arranged to extend from the handle member and therewith across the handle member. The free end portion 10 of the handle member is made crooked, whereby the gripe of the grasp 9 is located in the plane of symmetry of the trolley and right through the lengthening line of the frame.
  • the handle member 2 can be arranged in four different, with one another perpendicular directions so in fact the grasp in each time is directed in one direction of said four, with one another perpendicular directions.
  • the handle member is hold in its position in length by a first locking mean 11, for example formed as a tightening screw, bringing to squeeze the profile tube of the frame 1 against the profile tube of the handle member 2.
  • the wheel mountings 3, 4 consist of a bow and a fork respectively, which with end portions 13 and 14 respectively are connected to the wheels 5 or connected to hub pins 12 protruding from the wheels.
  • said end portions 13 of the bow 3 are pivotally connected to the hub pins 12 but of course said end portions 14 of the fork 4 can also be pivotally .connected to the wheels.
  • the bow 3 is arranged detachable from the frame 1 by means of a lock 15 of known kind, for example the kind used as coupling means for couple window-frames.
  • the fork 4 consists of two bent profile tubes, when the fork is to be made of a simple construction, whereby the bow is arranged to be brought to squeeze the frame 1, by means of a second locking mean l ⁇ , for example formed as a tightening screw.
  • a second locking mean l ⁇ for example formed as a tightening screw.
  • the wheels 5 could be shaped of a plastic material and show a proportionately broad tread.
  • the handle member 2 can, if necessary, be pushed into the frame 1, whereby a certain compressing can be attained or be disengaged from the frame by pulling out the handle member from the frame. Further, the bow 3 is detached from its locking engagement with the frame and the fork 4 is brought out from its position, where the fork squeezes the frame. By this, the wheel mountings 3, 4 can be swung against the frame. Besides, the wheels 5 can be arranged to be disengaged from theirs engagement with the wheel axles.
  • the frame can consist of a tube profile showing a greater proportion or a rectangular or more rectangular cross-section, whereby the outer dimension of the tube profile of the handle member in one cross direction fall short of the inner dimention of the tube profile of the frame in one cross direction.
  • the handle member consists of a tube profile with square cross-section.
  • the tube profiles of the trolley show a round cross-section, whereby among other things the direction of the handle member could be adjustable infinitely.
  • tube profiles showing round cross-sections causes certain disadvantages compared with square shaped tubes, among other things concerning the strength, as circular tubes have a tendency of cracking when subjected to stresses.
  • the handle member can be dismountable and mountable and therewith in a simple way, whereby, when a trolley is hired, a handle member is handed out for mounting on a trolley. If screws, bolts and similar means are used for the mounting of the trolley and which means are easily operateable by means of a simple tool, anyone can exchange eventual demolished parts of the trolley by spare parts from the manufacturer, the distributor or similar.
  • a trolley according to the invention it is possible to shape a trolley according to the invention completely or partly of other materials, as tubes made of steel and varying plastic materials but by using the materials mentioned in the example one obtains lots of advantages, among other things regarding the strength and the weight of the trolley, whereby the weight is surprisingly low for a golf trolley. At the same time a multiplicity of inconveniences with the known golf trolleys are removed.
  • the trolley according to the invention is not limited to the shape which is apparent from the example as it has been shown and described but only by the following patent claims.
