Dabei wird dem eingeschobenen Türblatt eine zusätzliche Schiebebewegung erteilt und in seiner Schliesslage ein Einziehen des Türblattes in den Portalrahmen mit der Folge erreicht, dass das Türblatt sicher in den Türverschluss einfährt. Der Schwenkhebel wird mittels eines Antriebgestänges oder auch durch einen pneumatischen Antrieb betätigt. Ein zur Absicherung der Schiebetür in der Schliessstellung vorhandener Türriegel ist als getrennter, selbständiger Riegelmechanismus ausgebildet, wodurch ein nicht unbedeutender Mehraufwand entsteht. Da dieser Türriegel erst einschnappen kann, wenn das Türblatt durch den Schubmechanismus in die geschlossene Endlage gebracht worden ist, ist das Türblatt bis dahin nur durch den Schwenkhebel gesichert, was in der Praxis nicht immer ausreicht, weil der Schwenkhebel bei offener Tür durch Manipulation zurückgedrückt werden und er dann das Türblatt nicht mehr erfassen kann.With railroad car doors, the lateral pressure of the guides is usually not sufficient to press the door leaf firmly against the seals.
