Definitions
- the invention relates to a rotary drum according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Rotary drums are used for various types of treatment of bulk goods, in particular also for heat exchange between the bulk goods and gases, for example in the form of rotary kilns, drying drums, cooling drums and the like.
- the rotating drum is supported on at least one running ring on the drum shell during its rotating movement
- there is usually comparatively strong heating and consequently correspondingly large radial expansions of the drum shell while the race arranged on the outer circumference of the drum shell, on the other hand, is heated less or hardly at all
- the inner circumference of the race and the outside of the drum shell have a correspondingly large amount of play in order to be able to absorb the radial relative movements of the furnace shell.
- the race is therefore supported only over a number of circumferential directions adjusts the underlay on the drum jacket.
- a base plate is arranged between two teeth on the inner circumference of the race, which with the drum shell is welded, a wedge being provided between the base plate and the inner peripheral teeth of the race, through which the race is braced in the circumferential direction.
- a plurality of axially aligned, strip-shaped carriers can be fastened to the inner circumference of the race, while annular elements with corresponding tooth-like recesses are received on the outer circumference of the drum shell, which receive the strip-shaped carriers of the race .
- This embodiment not only requires a considerable amount of production and assembly work, but also makes undesirably large and many welds on the drum jacket necessary.
- Another disadvantage is that there is no possibility of compensating for the play between the tensioning elements that inevitably occurs after a certain operating time of the rotary drum.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to improve a rotary drum with an internally toothed race of the type mentioned in such a way that with relatively simple means and avoiding large welds on the Drum casing ensures a reliable connection that is always free of play, both between the drum casing and the underlay plates and between the underlay plates and the race.
- Each loose washer plate can be reliably clamped with a first wedge between two teeth that follow one another in the circumferential direction and with a second wedge between abutments, which are distributed on the drum shell with corresponding spacings in the circumferential direction.
- the use of the wedges for bracing also offers the possibility of maintaining the bracing once established between the base plates, drum casing and race even during longer operating times, since the wedges are easily tightened when bracing elements or the like wear out. Possible radial relative movements of the drum shell with respect to the race (due to thermal expansion) are in no way hindered by this type of bracing.
- a first embodiment of the rotary drum 1 which can be a rotary drum intended for the heat treatment of bulk material, for example a rotary kiln, a drying drum, a drum cooler or the like, as they are for example for the treatment of mineral goods (cement, lime and the like) is used.
- the Rotary drum 1 has a drum shell 2, on which at least one race 3 is fixedly arranged, which has on its inner circumference a number of teeth directed radially against the drum shell 2, which are arranged at equal distances from one another in the circumferential direction.
- teeth 4 are preferably cast on the race 3, since the teeth 4 - seen in the circumferential direction - have only a relatively small thickness, there is a clear distance between the inner circumference 3a of the race 3 (in the area between the teeth 4) and the outside of the drum shell 2 or space (see. Fig. 1).
- a base plate 5 is loosely arranged.
- the race 3 is supported above all on the base plates 5 on the drum shell 2 and is clamped to the latter by wedges 6, 7 in the circumferential direction, two wedges being provided for each base plate 5, which are tightened approximately in the axial direction of the rotary drum or can be traced.
- Each base plate 5 therefore has on its one, approximately axially extending, longitudinal side 5a, which is in engagement with the second wedge 7, in the area under the race 3, an outwardly open recess 9, the length of which corresponds at least to the axial length of a tooth 4 and the like Width - viewed in the drum circumferential direction - is somewhat larger than the thickness of a tooth 4, so that a race tooth 4 can be accommodated in this recess 9 without the arrangement and bracing of the second wedge 7 acting on this longitudinal side 5a being impeded (cf. Fig. 2).
- first and second wedges 6, 7 facing away from the underlay plates 5 are each with - preferably - two abutments 8 in engagement, each of which is welded to the drum shell 2 approximately next to one of the two opposite end faces of the race 3.
- abutments can - as shown - be formed by bearing blocks 8, which need only be relatively small compared to the base plates 5 and therefore only need correspondingly short fastening weld seams, so that there are no disadvantages for the drum shell 2.
- the first and second wedges 6, 7 can have a somewhat lower radial height than the base plates 5.
- each base plate 5 vers the longitudinal sides 5a, 5b of each base plate 5 with a uniform inclination see that corresponds to that of the first and second wedges 6, 7 (with which they are in engagement), the inclination of the longitudinal sides 5a, 5b, however, being opposite to the inclination of the wedges 6, 7. It is further preferred that the first wedges 6 are tightened opposite to the second wedges 7 in the axial direction, which results in a particularly reliable bracing.
- the inclination of the wedges 6,7 is preferably between 1:10 and 1:25; this relatively flat wedge inclination has the advantage that the wedges 6, 7 cannot normally be released on their own.
- the wedges 6, 7 can in principle be easily tightened in the axial direction by turning them accordingly. However, it is often particularly advantageous if a separate tightening device is assigned to each wedge 6, 7.
- a possible embodiment of such a tightening device is dashed in Fig. 2. dotted at the - in the drawing - lower pair of wedges 6,7 indicated.
- a threaded rod 10 pointing in the direction of the drum axis is fastened to each narrow wedge end, while a web-like abutment holder 11 is welded onto the drum shell 2, through which the associated threaded rod 10 extends and is held by an adjusting nut 12 or the like, through which the associated wedge 6,7 also individually adjusted at any time can be excited.
- Fig. 1 at 13 is also indicated by dash-dotted lines the possibility of arranging thin compensating plates between the base plates 5 and the drum casing 2 if necessary, which are attached to the base plates 5, preferably welded on.
- FIG. 4 an embodiment is illustrated - in the view of a partial peripheral region of the rotary drum - in which the tensioning of the race 3 on the drum shell 2 is carried out in the same way with the aid of loose washers 5 and first and second wedges 6, 7 as described above, which is why the same reference numerals have been used for the same parts; a renewed description of the type of attachment itself is therefore unnecessary.
- axial locking blocks 16 are welded onto both ends of each support plate 5 (i.e. to both end faces of the race 3) in such a way that they are supported on the associated end faces 3b, 3c of the race 3 and thus ensure the axial position of the associated support plate 5 with respect to the race 3 .
- an axial position securing of the race 3 is ge provided opposite the drum shell 2.
- This axial securing of position is achieved with the aid of holding blocks 17, which are preferably welded upright on the drum jacket 2 and are arranged between two successive circumferential underlay plates 5 and on both end faces 3b, 3c of the race 3, wherein they rest on the associated raceway end faces .
- FIGS. 5 and 6 The further '' embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is primarily a further development of the embodiment according to FIG. 4, which is why the same reference numbers have again been chosen for the same elements.
- the race 3 is supported on the drum shell 2 by the washers 5 and braced in the circumferential direction by first and second wedges, while the axial securing of the washers 5 is achieved by means of the securing blocks 16 and the axial securing of the race 3 by means of the holding blocks 17 becomes.
- each bracket 18 is - with axial alignment - fastened (welded) upright on the drum shell 2 in such a way that its upper free end 18a facing the race 3 the end of the base plate 5 facing him overlaps so that the base plates 5 can be held on the drum shell 2 without play.
- the welding attachment of this bracket 18 requires only short welds, which can have no disadvantages on the drum shell 2.
- a loose base plate 5 is arranged in every second space between the race teeth 4 in the circumferential direction. Compared to this preferred embodiment, it may also be sufficient in some cases to provide larger circumferential distances between successive base plates.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rotary drum according to the preamble of claim 1.
Der Laufring stützt sich daher nur über eine Anzahl von in Umfangsrichtung verteilt angeordneten Unterlagsplatten auf dem Trommelmantel ab.Rotary drums are used for various types of treatment of bulk goods, in particular also for heat exchange between the bulk goods and gases, for example in the form of rotary kilns, drying drums, cooling drums and the like. The rotating drum is supported on at least one running ring on the drum shell during its rotating movement In the case of the heat exchange rotary drums mentioned, there is usually comparatively strong heating and consequently correspondingly large radial expansions of the drum shell, while the race arranged on the outer circumference of the drum shell, on the other hand, is heated less or hardly at all The inner circumference of the race and the outside of the drum shell have a correspondingly large amount of play in order to be able to absorb the radial relative movements of the furnace shell. The race is therefore supported only over a number of circumferential directions adjusts the underlay on the drum jacket.
In an embodiment known from practice, a base plate is arranged between two teeth on the inner circumference of the race, which with the drum shell is welded, a wedge being provided between the base plate and the inner peripheral teeth of the race, through which the race is braced in the circumferential direction. For various reasons, it has now proven to be particularly disadvantageous if the relatively large base plates are fastened to the drum shell with correspondingly large weld seams.
In another known embodiment (DE-PS 939 738), a plurality of axially aligned, strip-shaped carriers can be fastened to the inner circumference of the race, while annular elements with corresponding tooth-like recesses are received on the outer circumference of the drum shell, which receive the strip-shaped carriers of the race . This embodiment not only requires a considerable amount of production and assembly work, but also makes undesirably large and many welds on the drum jacket necessary. Another disadvantage is that there is no possibility of compensating for the play between the tensioning elements that inevitably occurs after a certain operating time of the rotary drum.
The invention is therefore based on the object to improve a rotary drum with an internally toothed race of the type mentioned in such a way that with relatively simple means and avoiding large welds on the Drum casing ensures a reliable connection that is always free of play, both between the drum casing and the underlay plates and between the underlay plates and the race.
According to the invention this is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Since only loose base plates are used in a rotary drum according to the present connection, there are also no problems associated with larger weld seams. Each loose washer plate can be reliably clamped with a first wedge between two teeth that follow one another in the circumferential direction and with a second wedge between abutments, which are distributed on the drum shell with corresponding spacings in the circumferential direction. The use of the wedges for bracing also offers the possibility of maintaining the bracing once established between the base plates, drum casing and race even during longer operating times, since the wedges are easily tightened when bracing elements or the like wear out. Possible radial relative movements of the drum shell with respect to the race (due to thermal expansion) are in no way hindered by this type of bracing.
Further details of the invention are the subject of subclaims. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

Zwischenraum vorhanden (vgl. Fig. 1).1-3, a first embodiment of the rotary drum 1 will be described, which can be a rotary drum intended for the heat treatment of bulk material, for example a rotary kiln, a drying drum, a drum cooler or the like, as they are for example for the treatment of mineral goods (cement, lime and the like) is used. The Rotary drum 1 has a
Between the
Fig. 2). The aforementioned connection between the
The long sides of the first and
Since - as already mentioned - the rotary drum 1 is provided for heat exchange between a good and a gas, radial thermal expansion of this drum shell cannot be avoided due to the inevitable heating of the drum shell. In order to be able to absorb these radial thermal expansions unhindered, there is a sufficiently large clearance between each
In this first embodiment, it is further preferred to ver the
The
In Fig. 1 at 13 is also indicated by dash-dotted lines the possibility of arranging thin compensating plates between the
In the previously described embodiment of FIGS. 1-3, it is also preferred to assign the
In Fig. 4 an embodiment is illustrated - in the view of a partial peripheral region of the rotary drum - in which the tensioning of the
The main difference of this embodiment (Fig. 4) compared to the first (Fig.1-3) can be seen above all in the axial securing of the
The further '' embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is primarily a further development of the embodiment according to FIG. 4, which is why the same reference numbers have again been chosen for the same elements. In this case too, the
The special feature of this exemplary embodiment (FIGS. 5 and 6) can be seen in the fact that at least one, preferably two, holding
Finally, it should also be mentioned that in the exemplary embodiments explained above and illustrated in the drawing, a
