Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for preheating with the aid of a hot flue gas, for example the exhaust gas of an industrial furnace, the temperature of which is usually still 400 to 600 ° C. even after conventional waste heat recovery and is frequently conducted outdoors despite the high energy prices.
- a hot flue gas for example the exhaust gas of an industrial furnace
- GB-A 1 160 875 describes a process for operating a multi-zone continuous furnace in which the waste gas or flue gas from a high-temperature zone is used to preheat the annealing material arriving on the cold furnace side in a special preheating zone. This is done by sucking off the flue gas and its afterburning above and below the annealing material at the end of the preheating zone or in the area of the transition from the preheating zone to the high temperature zone. The hot flue gases pass the cold annealing material above and below.
- DE-C 2 259 639 describes a variant of this direct preheating, in which the hot flue gases are inflated vertically and directly onto the annealed material after a pressure increase using special nozzles.
- the high momentum of the flue gas should result in a better heat transfer and further utilization of the sensible heat of the flue gas.
- Another disadvantage of the known methods is that when the flue gas cools down, the dew point is generally undershot and, due to the more or less high sulfur content of the flue gas in the preheating chamber of the furnace, corrosive sulfurous acid is formed.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages mentioned above and, in particular, of creating a method which does not require longer but in particular large-volume flue gas lines, allows any arrangement of the preheating chamber and avoids contact of the preheating material with the flue gas.
- a fluid heat transfer medium is indirectly heated by the flue gas and supplied to the preheating material. - the flue gas for example of an industrial furnace, can be cooled down to temperatures below 200 ° C and the sensible heat can be used at a remote location without the need to transport large amounts of flue gas over long distances.
- the heat exchangers can be followed by an additional heat exchanger system on the flue gas side, in which air is heated by means of a heat transfer medium conveyed by a circulating unit, which air is supplied to the upstream and / or downstream combustion air heat exchangers. - the secondary side of the heat exchanger 3 is connected to a preheating furnace 12 via a feed line 10 and a return line 11. In order to achieve a rapid circulation of the heat transfer medium and thus a good heat transfer, there is a circulation unit 13 in the feed line 10.
- a further heat exchanger 20 is arranged in the exhaust line 6 in front of the chimney 7, the heat transfer medium of which is fed to a combustion air preheater 23 by means of a circulating unit 24 and through a feed line 21 and a return line 22.
- the in the combustion air preheater 23 preheated combustion air is fed via line 8 to the recuperator 5 or 5a.
- the secondary side of a flue gas heat exchanger 14 is connected to the primary side of a heat exchanger 15, which in turn is connected to the preheating furnace 18 via pipes 16, 17.
- a recirculation unit 19 in the pipeline 16.
- the material to be heated is preheated continuously or in batches in the preheating furnaces 12, 18 without coming into contact with the flue gas from the furnace 1. This ensures the greatest possible protection of the heating material and the preheating furnaces, which are independent units that do not require a specific assignment to the respective industrial furnace, although for reasons of heat loss they are arranged as close as possible to the associated heating furnace should be.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for preheating with the aid of a hot flue gas, for example the exhaust gas of an industrial furnace, the temperature of which is usually still 400 to 600 ° C. even after conventional waste heat recovery and is frequently conducted outdoors despite the high energy prices.
Methods of this type are known. For example, GB-A 1 160 875 describes a process for operating a multi-zone continuous furnace in which the waste gas or flue gas from a high-temperature zone is used to preheat the annealing material arriving on the cold furnace side in a special preheating zone. This is done by sucking off the flue gas and its afterburning above and below the annealing material at the end of the preheating zone or in the area of the transition from the preheating zone to the high temperature zone. The hot flue gases pass the cold annealing material above and below.
Another process for the direct preheating of annealing material in the preheating zone of a multi-zone continuous furnace is known from GB-A 962 289. It differs from the aforementioned preheating process essentially only in that the hot flue gases enter the furnace chamber through side wall openings in order to also act directly on the annealing material there.
Finally, DE-C 2 259 639 describes a variant of this direct preheating, in which the hot flue gases are inflated vertically and directly onto the annealed material after a pressure increase using special nozzles. The high momentum of the flue gas should result in a better heat transfer and further utilization of the sensible heat of the flue gas.
The known methods for direct preheating of annealing material have proven their worth in terms of reducing energy = costs; however, they suffer from a number of disadvantages. The large quantities of flue gas to be managed require pipelines with a diameter of up to 3 or even 4 m, for which the required space below or above the hallway is often no longer available. This applies in particular if the preheating zone is not integrated in the furnace. However, this is often the case when an existing oven is to be equipped with a preheating zone for reasons of energy = cost reduction, the direct installation of which on the oven is not possible. This requires special cables with correspondingly heavy support structures for the pipe weight, one Pipe routing over a hall roof is usually not permitted for structural reasons.
Another disadvantage of the known methods is that when the flue gas cools down, the dew point is generally undershot and, due to the more or less high sulfur content of the flue gas in the preheating chamber of the furnace, corrosive sulfurous acid is formed.
The invention is therefore based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages mentioned above and, in particular, of creating a method which does not require longer but in particular large-volume flue gas lines, allows any arrangement of the preheating chamber and avoids contact of the preheating material with the flue gas.
The solution to this problem is that in a method of the type mentioned in the invention, a fluid heat transfer medium is indirectly heated by the flue gas and supplied to the preheating material. Accordingly, in the method according to the invention, the preheating material is acted upon exclusively by the heat transfer medium. This can be done directly or in such a way that a special preheating medium is indirectly heated with the aid of the heat transfer medium.
A device is suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention, in which a flue gas line opens into a flue gas heat exchanger which has a Feed line and a return line is connected to a preheating chamber or a heat exchanger, which in turn is connected to a preheating chamber via pipes. Circulations = aggregates are usually arranged in the lines, which ensure rapid heat transfer in such a way that the heat transfer medium is inflated directly onto the preheating material, for example in air and protective gases.
In addition, a further heat exchanger, for example a recuperator, can be connected upstream or downstream of the flue gas heat exchanger on the flue gas side, which in turn is connected to a combustion air line. In this way, with the greatest possible protection of the preheating material and the preheating chamber, the flue gas, for example of an industrial furnace, can be cooled down to temperatures below 200 ° C and the sensible heat can be used at a remote location without the need to transport large amounts of flue gas over long distances.
In addition, the heat exchangers can be followed by an additional heat exchanger system on the flue gas side, in which air is heated by means of a heat transfer medium conveyed by a circulating unit, which air is supplied to the upstream and / or downstream combustion air heat exchangers. This prevents the heat exchangers from falling below the dew point.
