Das Spannband 13 mit integrierten Zapfen 11, 12 greift im Anwendungsfall in die stirnseitigen Aufnahmelöcher 17, 18 des Wickelkörpers von Fig. 4 ein, welcher als Hohlkörper so gespritzt oder auf eine andere Weise geformt ist, dass an seinen Längsenden 15 und 16, z.B. von einem Kern oder Schieber her, Löcher 17 und 18 verbleiben. In diese Öffnungen 17, 18 werden die als Kupplungs-und Verschlusselemente ausgebildeten Zapfen 11, 12 eingesetzt, so dass sie die Öffnungen 17, 18 verschliessen und der Austritt von gegebenenfalls benutztem Wellmittel an den Längsenden 15 und 16 vermieden wird. In Fig. 4 ist dargestellt, wie das Spannband 13 mit angeformten Zapfen 11 und 12 um den Wickelkörper 14 zu legen ist, wie die Zapfen 11, 12 in den Löchern 17, 18 zu arretieren sind und wie die Löcher 17, 18 dabei verschlossen werden. Die Löcher 5, 7 der Spannbänder 2, 3 werden ebenfalls beim Spritzgiessen des Bandes mit eingespritzt. Das erfindungsgemässe Spannband soll aus einem dauerelastischen, gegenüber dem zu verwendenden Wellmittel chemisch neutralen und mit relativ geringer Kraft zu dehnenden Kunststoff hergestellt werden. Bei Versuchen hat sich ergeben, dass das von der Firma Elastogran GmbH, Lemförde, unter dem Handelnamen «Elastollan» gelieferte dauerthermoplastische Polyurethan- «Elastomer» die gestellten Anforderungen besonders gut erfüllt.
