Abstract

Ein Flüssigkeitskühlsystem (10) für eine Verbrennungs­ kraftmaschine umfaßt einen ersten Kühlmittelkreislauf (18-30) und einen zweiten Kühlmittelkreislauf (48-60). Der erste Kühlmittelkreislauf (18-30) umfaßt einen Radiator (18) sowie eine flüssigkeitsgekühlte Wärmequelle, während der zweite Kühlmittelkreislauf (48-60) einen Radiator (48) sowie einen Luft-Flüssigkeit-Wärmeaustauscher (52) umfaßt. Eine Flüssigkeitspumpe (22) ist zwischen die beiden Kühlmittel­ kreisläufe geschaltet und ermöglicht eine unabhängige Kühlmittelströmung durch die beiden getrennten Kühlmit­ telkreisläufe. Diese Pumpe (22) weist hierfür ein Flügelrad (64) mit einer scheibenförmigen Wandung (78) auf, auf de­ ren sich gegenüberliegenden Seiten eine Vielzahl von Schaufeln (76, 80) unterschiedlicher Konfiguration vorge­ sehen sind. Die scheibenförmige Wandung (78) bildet zu­ sammen mit dem Pumpengehäuse (62) zwei separate, von­ einander unabhängige Flüssigkeitskammern (70, 72).
