Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a telecommunications system according to the preamble of the main claim.
In a known telecommunication system of this type, the broadband television or video signals present at the inputs of video switching networks are statically switched through in the switching network to an output line which leads to a subscriber terminal (DE-OS 2538638). By means of a switch acting as a multiplexer, the broadband signal switched through to the subscriber terminal is switched to a narrowband signal, e.g. a telephone signal, nested in time. In this telecommunications system, the switching matrix is simple, but subscriber-specific multiplexers are required, which leads to a great outlay in terms of circuitry.
The invention has for its object to provide a digital broadband telecommunications system in which the effort required per subscriber is low.

With the invention, the equipment required for a telecommunications system can be reduced by 30% or more.

A digital telecommunications system (FIG. 1) has a switching device DE, to which broadband input or distribution signals BB1 to BB30 are fed on input lines EL. These broadband signals are switched through or distributed in the switching device DE to the individual subscriber terminals TL1 to TLn. The individual switching elements or coupling points of the switching device DE are controlled in a manner to be described later by a control circuit ST which is connected to the switching device DE via control lines SL. The switching device performs both the function of spatial switching and time multiplexing.
The broadband signals BB1 to BB30 to be distributed are fed to a frame adaptation circuit RAS before they arrive on the input lines EL to the switching device DE, by means of which they are compressed in time and receive a time multiple signal frame structure supplemented by empty bits (cf. also the description of FIGS 2a to 2c).
Fernsprech-, Fernschreib-, Fernkopier-, Bildschirmtext-Signale usw.The broadband distribution signals BB1 to BB30 are generally color television signals, but some of the broadband channels can also transmit other signals. Another broadband signal is the video telephone signal BIF, which is fed directly to the switching device DE. The BIF signal is individual to the subscriber, i.e. it is switched from a certain subscriber of the telecommunications service to another individual subscriber. The switching device DE is also supplied with a narrowband signal SB directly. Such narrowband signals are e.g. Telephone, telex, facsimile, on-screen text signals, etc.
If the signals BB1 to BB30, as in the telecommunications system according to FIG. 1, are offered in multiples of space, then a continuous data stream with 68.736 Mbit / s arrives on each input line EL. For these signals, for example, a signal frame SR with a structure as can be seen from FIG. 2a can be defined. This frame SR has four lines Z1 to Z4, each with 537 bits, which corresponds to a frame duration T R = 31.25 I Ls for a bit stream of 68.736 Mbit / s. The individual broadband signals are converted in the frame adaptation circuit RAS (cf. FIG. 1) by inserting seven empty bits LB after every 537 “TV bits”, while maintaining the frame duration TR and the line duration Tz. The gross bit stream or the gross bit rate are increased to 69.632 Mbit / s (FIG. 2b).
The distribution signals BB1 to BB30, which are converted by the frame adaptation circuit RAS, and the subscriber-specific SB and BIF signals are fed to the switching device. The video telephone signal BIF has the same frame structure as a TV signal converted by the frame adaptation circuit and can therefore be processed in the switching device like such a broadband signal - but individually for each subscriber.
The empty bits LB inserted by the frame adaptation are completely or partially replaced in the switching device DE by bits of the narrowband signal SB or a synchronization word SYNC (FIG. 2c). With such a frame structure, a bit rate of 128 kbit / s is particularly suitable for the narrowband signal SB. At this bit rate, exactly four narrowband bits per frame or one narrowband bit per line can be faded in. If for any reason other bit rates and frame durations were chosen, it would have to be ensured that the number of bits per frame is always an integer. The same applies for the synchronization word SYNC, which preferably has four bits or a multiple thereof.
Über die Zeilenleitungen werden die für die einzelnen Teilnehmerendgeräte bestimmten Teilnehmersignale TL1 TL2,..., TLm,..., TLn abgegeben.3, only as many parts are shown as are necessary for understanding. It has a matrix-like arrangement of crosspoints or gates K11, K12, ..., K1-33, ..., Km1, ..., KM33, ..., which are connected to each other by column and row lines. The broadband signals BB1, BB2,..., The synchronization word SYNC and the narrowband signals SB1,..., SBn arriving in the switching device are present on the column lines. The subscriber signals TL1 TL2, ..., TLm, ..., TLn intended for the individual subscriber terminals are emitted via the row lines.
From the central control ST, the control and clock signals required to control the crosspoints pass via a control bus STB to decentralized controls and clock supplies DS1, ..., DSm, ..., which via crosspoint control lines KSL1, ..., and KSLm,. .. are connected to the crosspoints of a matrix line. The crosspoints are controlled in such a way that two broadband signals, for example two television signals, BBi and BBj, are interleaved bit by bit during a frame line - 7.8125 us. 2c thus contains 537 bits of the signal BBi, which are represented by I, and 537 bits of the signal BBj, which are represented by 11, and thus a total of 1074 broadband bits, for example TV bits. In the remaining
Fig. 3).The selection of the broadband signals to be switched through to a subscriber terminal, e.g. the selection of a TV program takes place via a selection signal TVW1, ..., TVWn, which reaches the decentralized control DS1, ... of the switching device DE via a return channel (cf. FIG. 3).
The switching device shown in FIG. 5 is used in a telecommunications system in which the broadband signals (TV signals or BIF signals) are present as time-division multiplex signals, each with 140 Mbit / s (exactly 139, 264 Mbit / s) because they are present, for example, over a PCM transmission path can be transmitted in this form. Each signal arriving on an input line to the switching device contains two broadband channels BB1 / 2, BB3 / 4, ..., BB29 / 30, which can have a frame structure according to FIG. 2c, for example. The subscriber-specific video telephone signals BIF1, BIF2, ... and the likewise subscriber-specific narrowband signals SB1, SB2, ... reach the column lines of the switching device DE * on further input lines . In this the broadband signals are transmitted in space and time multiples and the subscriber-specific narrowband signals are inserted into the gaps provided for this. The BIF signal must be delivered with a bit stream of 139.264 Mbit / s. The frame structure corresponds to that of FIG. 2c, but only one of the two broadband channels is occupied by BIF signals.
The coupling points K1 / 1, K1 / 2, ..., Kn / 17 of the switching device DE * arranged in a matrix are controlled via the bundle of control lines KSL1, KSL2, ..., KSLn in such a way that they connect the input columns with the output lines. The control circuits are not shown in the drawing. A frame matching circuit is not required in this remote control system, since the input signals already have the required frame structure. The switching device DE * is made up of switching groups DG1, DG2, ..., which are assigned to the individual output lines AL1, AL2, ..., and which each consist of three coupling point rows AZ1, AZ2, AZ3, .. . consist. The coupling point row AZ3 is connected directly to the output line AL1, which leads to the subscriber terminal assigned to the switching group DG1. The coupling point row AZ2 is connected to this output line via a delay element VG2 and the coupling point row AZ1 via this and a further delay element VG1. Depending on the timing required for the desired switching or switching of message signals, one of these three crosspoint rows or lines AZ1, AZ2 and AZ3 is controlled. If, for example, the TV channel to be switched through already has the desired time position, it no longer has to be shifted in time in the switching device DE * ; it is switched through to the output line AL1 via the crosspoint line AZ3.
If, on the other hand, a signal is to be conveyed on channel I, ie the channel with odd bit positions, to channel II, ie the channel with even bit positions, the signal of channel I is delayed by one bit using the timing element VG2, ie it is switched through to the center line AZ2 to the output line AL1. When switching from the channel to the channel I, the signal is switched through to the output line AL1 via the upper crosspoint line AZ1, so that the signal passes through the two delay elements VG1 and VG2. 2c, the wideband signal to be switched must be shifted by a total of 14 bits, the delay element VG1 causing a time shift "" C, = 14 bits - C2 = 13 bits.
The broadband input signals BB1 / 2, BB3 / 4,... Arriving at the switching device DE * in time-division multiplexing already contain the necessary synchronization information. It is therefore possible to dispense with the additional display of synchronization words in the switching device DE * .
The control signals for the switching device DE * correspond to the control signals shown in FIG. 4, but the SYNC signal shown in line C is omitted. The control signals STi for the broadband signal BBi and STj for the broadband signal BBj are given to one of the three crosspoint lines AZ1, AZ2 or AZ3 in accordance with the switching request. The necessary crosspoints are selected and controlled by the central control on the basis of the switching request originating from the subscriber.
Up to 70 stereo radio programs or a correspondingly higher number of mono radio programs are transmitted over individual broadband channels BB1, ... BB 29/30 instead of TV programs.
