Description

The invention relates to a corner connection for hollow profiles made of light metal, in particular for binding spacer frames of an insulating glass pane, consisting of a metallic and in cross-section approximately U-shaped corner connection angle, the legs of which are adapted to the inner cross section of the hollow profile and whose curved, incised corner area opposite the side surfaces of the legs is raised and forms stops for the hollow profiles to be pushed on.

Corner connection angles from which the invention is based have become known, for example, from DE-B-2 532 896 and DE-U-7 909 265. In both cases, a sheet metal strip is assumed, which is provided with notches, punchings, incisions and the like, is embossed in a U-shaped cross-section along its longitudinal direction and is finally bent to an angle. The legs of the corner connection angle formed thereby have an outer contour which corresponds to the inner contour of the hollow profile into which the individual leg is to be inserted or pressed. As a result, the hollow profiles are cut transversely to their longitudinal axis. The front edges meet in a known manner against a trained corner area of the corner connection angle.

In the case of DE-B-2 532 896, this corner area is shaped without cutting in the manner of a console, in which there is a slot which runs from the inner corner of the angle piece in the direction of the apex thereof. The aim of this measure is to produce a corner connection angle which deviates from 90 ° and which still has sufficient rigidity in the desired angular position of its legs.

The known corner connection angles have the disadvantage that they have to be unstable, especially in the curved corner region, in order to be able to be changed with regard to the angularity.

The object of the invention is accordingly to design the corner connection angle in such a way that it can be produced easily and accurately in shape and therefore in large numbers using simple deformation tools, whereby it performs a rigid and stabilizing function for the frame to be formed.

Starting from DE-B-2 532 896, the solution to the problem according to the invention is that the side walls of the U-shaped legs are arranged to overlap one another in the corner region of the corner connection angle, by a wall region adjacent to an incision extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the leg is embossed by the measure of its wall thickness from the original plane and, after the angle has been bent, comes to rest on the other wall area that remains undeformed and adjoins the incision, the edges of the overlap forming the stop edges for the hollow profiles to be pushed on.

A corner connection angle designed in this way can be automatically produced and deformed by the belt in a particularly simple manner. This is because it is possible to make the incision according to the invention with the adjacent embossed section in the same work step as the preparation for the later U-shaped profiling of the corner connection angle.

If you now bend the U-shaped blank to form the legs, which usually stand at 90 ° on top of each other, then the wall areas adjacent to the incisions reach behind and form a geometrically defined overlap that projects beyond the side surfaces of the legs by the measure of the wall thickness. The edges of this overlap also form stop edges for the hollow profiles to be pushed onto the legs.

It has proven to be advantageous to make the base of the incision semicircular. This avoids undesirable crack formation when stamping the wall section adjacent to the incision. For the same reason, it is advisable to dimension the depth of the incision to be smaller than the depth of the adjacent wall area which is embossed from its original plane.

In the context of an embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the corner connection angle in the outside of the curved corner region has a bead-like impression which is approximately V-shaped in cross section, extends along the longitudinal axis and runs into the web surface of the legs. Similar stabilization measures are known. The invention prefers an indentation directed inwards from the outside, by means of which 2/5 of the adjacent angle legs are each deformed.

A corner connection angle produced in this way is dimensionally stable and therefore particularly suitable for stabilizing a light metal frame. Regardless of this, the adjoining edges of the overlapping wall sections can also be soldered in the usual way.

Finally, the invention provides that the free edge regions of the legs are tapered in a wedge shape. In this way, in view of the rigidity of the corner connection angle according to the invention, the easy pushing of the hollow profiles onto the legs is facilitated.

Details of the invention are shown schematically and for example in the drawing. Show it:
  • 1 is a side view of a corner connection angle,
  • 2 is a plan view of the corner connection angle according to FIG. 1,
  • 3 shows a cross section through the corner region of the corner connection angle according to FIG. 1,
  • 4 is a bottom view of a U-shaped blank for the corner connection angle in an intermediate processing position before bending this blank,
  • Fig. 5 is a plan view of a blank for the corner connection angle, and
  • Fig. 6 is an enlarged plan view of an incision.

The corner connection angle 1 shown in FIG. 1 has two legs 2, 3 produced by bending, between which a curved corner region 4 is provided.

The end regions of hollow profiles 5, 6 made of light metal are pushed onto the legs 2, 3, so that a closed frame can be formed in this way. For fixing the hollow profiles 5, 6 on the legs 2, 3, protrusions 9 are provided which are rubbed against the inner surface of the hollow profiles 5, 6.

The corner area 4 is formed laterally by overlaps 8 of wall areas 13, 14 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). These overlaps 8 have stop edges 7 on which the end edges of the hollow profiles 5, 6 come to rest.

The rigidity of the corner connection angle 1 is essentially determined by a bead-shaped indentation 10, which is embossed along the central longitudinal plane from the outside into the curvature area 4 of the corner connection angle 1 such that this indentation 10 2/5 of the legs 2, 3 also includes. This non-cutting deformation also improves the firm contact of the wall areas 13, 14 forming the overlap 8.

The blank 15 for the corner connection angle 1 (see FIG. 5) is first provided at the edge with incisions 12 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction. A wall area 13 adjoining this incision 12 is offset by the measure of its wall thickness, whereas the other adjoining wall area 14 remains undeformed. These wall areas 13, 14 are part of the U-shaped angled side walls of the legs 2, 3. If one now bends the U-shaped profile shown in FIG. 4 in such a way that the shape shown in FIG. 1 arises, the offset wall area engages 13 the undeformed wall area 14. Both lie against one another in the bent position (FIG. 4) and thus form the overlap 8. The area of the overlap 8 can additionally be stabilized by spot welding on both sides. The corner bracket according to the invention is designed so that it can be made from different materials, which can also be solderable.

As shown in FIG. 5 in a detail, the corner connection angles are stamped out step by step from a sheet metal strip 17, for the advance of which the driving holes 16 are provided. The individual blank 15 is initially formed on the end face by punched-out portions 18 and laterally by separating slots 19. With the dash-dotted lines 20 parallel to the separating slots 19, bending edges are shown, around which the U-shaped bending of the legs 2, 3 takes place in a further working step, not shown.

The incisions 12 extend from the separating slots 19, the base 21 of which is semicircular in order to avoid cracking during the later bending. The depth of the incisions 12 is smaller than the depth of the adjacent expression 13, the surface area of which is delimited by broken lines 22 in FIG. 6.
