Claims (6)

1. Verfahren zum Glätten einer Bahn durch eine im wesentlichen gleichförmige Behandlung der Bahn mit Feuchtigkeit, umfassend einen Schritt zur Behandlung von einer Seite der Bahn mit einem Dampfstrahl, während die Bahn einen Dampfbehandlungsbebereich durchläuft, wobei sich die Bahn frei unter der Einwirkung der durch den Kampfstrahl ausgeübten Kraft bewegen kann, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein im wesentlichen konstanter Abstand zwischen Bahn und Quelle des Dampfstrahls aufrechterhalten wird, indem ein Gasstrom schräg aus einer Luftdüsenanordnung, die neben der, dem Dampfstrahl gegenüberliegenden Oberfläche der Bahn angebracht ist, auf die Bahn hingeleitet wird, derart, daß der Gasstrom im wesentlichen parallel zur Bahn verläuft, nachdem der Gasstrom auf die Bahn getroffen ist, wobei die am nächsten der Dampfstrahlquelle gelegene Begrenzung besagter Luftdüsenanordnung gegenüber ihr etwa 0,0125 m bis 0,0190 m (1/2 bis 3/4") versetzt ist, und zwar gerade vor ihr, bezogen auf die Bewegungsrichtung der Bahn.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Druck des Gasstroms etwa 1,74 bis 2,24 kPa (7 bis 9" von Wasser) und der Druck des Dampfstrahls etwa 34,5 kPa (5 psi) ist.
3. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mehrere Dampfstrahlquellen und eine entsprechende Anzahl von Gasströmen vorliegen.
4. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bahn aus einen gegebenenfalls beschichteten Papierblatt besteht.
5. Vorrichtung zum Glätten einer Bahn durch eine im wesentlichen gleichförmige Behandlung der Bahn mit Feuchtigkeit, umfassend die Mittel zum Leiten der Bahn durch einen Dampfbehandlungsbereich und eine Dampfquelle, um einen Dampfstrahl für eine Seite der Bahn zu liefern, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß eine Luftdüssenanordnung neben der, der Dampfquelle gegenüberliegenden Oberfläche des Bahnwegs angebracht ist, wobei während des Betriebs ein im wesentlichen konstanter Abstand zwischen Bahn und Dampfquelle aufrechterhalten wird, als Ergebnis eines Auftreffens des Gasstroms auf die Bahn und eines daraus folgenden parallel zur Bahn verlaufenden Gasstroms, wobei die am nächsten der Dampfstrahlquelle gelegene Begrenzung besagter Luftdüsenanordnung gegenüber ihr etwa 0,0125 m bis 0,019 m (1/2 Zoll bis 3/4 Zoll) versetzt ist und zwar gerade vor ihr, bezogen auf die Bewegungsrichtung der Bahn.
6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mehrere Dampfstrahlquellen und eine entsprechende Anzahl von versetzten Luftdüsenanordnungen vorliegen.
