Definitions
- the invention relates to a pluggable miniature electrical flat fuse of the type described, for example, in DE-OS 25 00 364.
- Such fuses usually consist of two spaced apart, spaced apart, standardized tabs made of sheet metal stampings, the plug areas of which merge into one piece into current-carrying webs at the rear, the fuse element being arranged between the webs and the current-carrying webs and the Fusible conductors are surrounded by a plastic housing.
- a fuse wire as a fuse element and, inter alia, to solder the wire to the current-carrying webs.
- a tin-lead wire is mainly proposed as the wire material.
- spring brass is specified in connection with an embodiment in which the wire is not soldered, but is clamped between spring elements arranged in the current-carrying webs.
- Soldering the fuse wire has considerable disadvantages. Due to the aggression of the soldering flux as well as efflorescence and contamination, the electrical values of the fuse can be changed uncontrollably. Contamination, in particular, leads to so-called cold soldering points, which impair the characteristic values of the fuse.
- the object of the invention is to arrange the fuse wire mechanically fixed and electrically defined in a flat fuse of the type described, without the characteristic of the wire being impaired.
- the fuse element consists of a copper wire with a silver sheathing and the current-carrying webs and the plug tongues are made of brass, at least the current-carrying webs, but preferably also the plug tongues, are tin-plated on the surface and the fuse element on each flat side of the current-carrying webs is welded on.
- a flat fuse is known from DE-GM 66 05 723, in which conduction cables made of metal strips are arranged on an insulating flat base body and a fuse wire is arranged between the strips. The wire should be welded on one line and soldered on the other. No statement is made about the type of materials.
- the tinning of the surface of the stamped sheet metal parts has the surprising effect that a flawless weld can be carried out without losing the melting wire characteristic. There is no explanation for this effect of surface tinning. There was no reason for the tinning itself.
- the use of the tinned brass and the silver-plated copper wire according to the invention also has the advantage that the coatings largely prevent corrosion, so that the electrical values of the fuse remain for a long period of time.
- the flat fuse consists of the housing 1 and the securing element 2.
- the securing element 2 has the two stamped sheet metal parts 3 arranged next to one another at a distance, which are arranged in mirror image to one another in one plane and have the same shape (FIG. 4).
- Each sheet metal stamped part 3 is functionally divided into the tongue 4, which integrally merges into the current-carrying web 5.
- the webs 5 are preferably made narrower than the tongues, with a cutting edge 6 each running outwards, merging into a cutting edge 7 leading obliquely upwards and the latter opening into the vertical cutting edge 8 of the web 5.
- This design of the webs 5 creates a relatively wide, clear distance between the webs 5, so that a wide space for a relatively long fuse wire 9 is available.
- the wide distance between the webs 5 also facilitates the welding of the fuse wire 9.
- the fuse wire 9 is welded onto the flat side 11 of the webs 5 at the spot welding point 10.
- the respective cutting edge 13 or 8 of the webs 5 is preferably chamfered by embossing, so that the embossing surfaces 12 which run obliquely to the respective edge result.
- This spatial shape ensures that the edges 13 and 8 when handling the securing element, for. B. when inserted into the housing, not notching or cutting into the fuse wire 9 and thereby possibly impair its characteristic.
- the securing element 2 is produced automatically by first punching out the contours of the parts 3 from a tin-plated sheet metal strip, two stamped sheet metal parts 3 belonging to one securing element being arranged in mirror image to one another.
- FIG. 6 for the sake of a better overview, only two securing element blanks are shown, which are connected to one another via a material web 14 in the area of the contact tongues, the associated contact tongues of a securing element also being connected to one another by a material web 15.
- the preliminary product of the securing element is introduced into the welding machine (not shown), the transport holes 16 in the material webs 15 and pressed-through guide lugs 17 in the material webs 14 being used appropriately by corresponding transport elements.
- the wire to be welded is fed and welded endlessly in the welding machine. Then the unnecessary wire parts between the fuse element blanks are cut away. Then the material strips 14 and 15 continuously separated, the housing being automatically attached to each released securing element immediately thereafter. This procedure is very economical and entails low manufacturing costs for the new flat fuse.
- the housing 1 consists of two halves, namely the lower housing half-shell 18 (FIG. 4) and the upper housing half-shell 19 (FIG. 5). Both housing half-shells are U-shaped in view, the current-carrying webs 5 and partly also the contact tongues 4 being clamped between the two U-legs 20.
- the fusible wire 9 extends freely through the U-bar 21, the U-bar 21 being designed to be open at the top, so that the fusible wire 9 is visible (FIG. 3). In the other areas, the housing is almost completely closed.
- the fixed mounting of the securing element 2 in the housing 1 is ensured by the pins 22 arranged in the lower housing half-shell 18, in that these pins are arranged at the edges of the stamped sheet metal parts 3 such that the cut edges of the stamped sheet metal parts can be supported against the pins 22.
- semicircular centering recesses 23 are preferably provided in the stamped sheet metal parts 3 - as shown - (FIGS. 4 and 6).
- the pins 22 pass through corresponding holes 24 in the upper housing half-shell 19, the two half-shells being sonicated with one another in the region of the pins 22.
- the current-carrying webs 5 extend approximately to the free end of the U-legs 20, a hole 25 being provided in the end region of the U-legs 20 through which the respective web can be contacted for testing purposes.
- guide webs 26 are also provided laterally, which serve to guide and mount the flat fuse in a plug connector (Fig. 1).
- a circumferential grip strip 27 is arranged in the upper end region of the U-leg 20.

Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine steckbare elektrische Flachsicherung in Miniaturausführung der beispielsweise in der DE-OS 25 00 364 beschriebenen Art.The invention relates to a pluggable miniature electrical flat fuse of the type described, for example, in DE-OS 25 00 364.
Such fuses usually consist of two spaced apart, spaced apart, standardized tabs made of sheet metal stampings, the plug areas of which merge into one piece into current-carrying webs at the rear, the fuse element being arranged between the webs and the current-carrying webs and the Fusible conductors are surrounded by a plastic housing.
From DE-OS 28 33 046 it is known to use a fuse wire as a fuse element and, inter alia, to solder the wire to the current-carrying webs. A tin-lead wire is mainly proposed as the wire material. For the current-carrying webs and the tongues, spring brass is specified in connection with an embodiment in which the wire is not soldered, but is clamped between spring elements arranged in the current-carrying webs. Soldering the fuse wire has considerable disadvantages. Due to the aggression of the soldering flux as well as efflorescence and contamination, the electrical values of the fuse can be changed uncontrollably. Contamination, in particular, leads to so-called cold soldering points, which impair the characteristic values of the fuse.
The object of the invention is to arrange the fuse wire mechanically fixed and electrically defined in a flat fuse of the type described, without the characteristic of the wire being impaired.
This object is achieved in that the fuse element consists of a copper wire with a silver sheathing and the current-carrying webs and the plug tongues are made of brass, at least the current-carrying webs, but preferably also the plug tongues, are tin-plated on the surface and the fuse element on each flat side of the current-carrying webs is welded on. Further features essential to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
A flat fuse is known from DE-GM 66 05 723, in which conduction cables made of metal strips are arranged on an insulating flat base body and a fuse wire is arranged between the strips. The wire should be welded on one line and soldered on the other. No statement is made about the type of materials.
Despite this information in the prior art, no miniature flat fuse has yet appeared on the market, in which a fuse wire on tabs or flat current-carrying webs is welded on. This fact is not surprising, because the metals commonly used for the flat plug elements and the fuse wire cannot be welded together in such a way that electrically defined values for the welding points can be guaranteed. In this respect, in spite of the prior art mentioned, it was not immediately obvious to try welding the fusible wire, although it is known that the weld brings advantages, at least with regard to the mechanical strength of the connection of the parts.
According to the invention, a choice of metals is made to solve the task that cannot be found in the prior art. In particular, the tinning of the surface of the stamped sheet metal parts has the surprising effect that a flawless weld can be carried out without losing the melting wire characteristic. There is no explanation for this effect of surface tinning. There was no reason for the tinning itself.
The small parts welding technique known per se is used to weld the fuse wire and the wire is applied on both sides by means of fine spot welding. Until now, even this welding technology had no way of easily welding the most important locking metals, namely brass and copper.
The use of the tinned brass and the silver-plated copper wire according to the invention also has the advantage that the coatings largely prevent corrosion, so that the electrical values of the fuse remain for a long period of time.

The flat fuse consists of the
Each sheet metal stamped
According to the invention, the
The
The fixed mounting of the
The
The current-carrying webs 5 extend approximately to the free end of the
On the
