Description

The invention relates to a safety device on roller shutters with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1. Such a device is known from DE-B2-2 140 237.

In this known roller shutter locking device, the locking members are two-armed toggle levers, which are mounted with their outer two ends on adjacent roller shutter slats and whose central knee joint is deflected transversely to the level of the roller shutter curtain when the roller shutter is pushed together and pressed against the guide rail. In order to be effective, such roller shutter protection requires careful adjustment to the respective roller shutter type and can even be rendered ineffective by manipulation from the outside.

From DE-B2-2 554 667 a further roller shutter safety device is known, which achieves a locking effect by means of a set sliding crank arrangement, the crank of which forms the locking member. As a result of a compensating member which resiliently loads the locking member, the adaptation to different types of roller shutters is facilitated, but the device is relatively thick, relatively complex to assemble (the roller shutter slats will have to be shortened) and can nevertheless be manipulated from the outside. In addition, the effect depends on the safe engagement of only a single locking member.

The invention has for its object to provide a very simple, suitable for mass production and safe acting shutter protection against pushing up, which can be retrofitted without it being necessary to remove the shutters and shorten the shutter strips.

The solution to this problem according to the invention is a roller shutter securing device with the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous further developments are the subject of the dependent claims.

The chain provided according to the invention is suspended in this way and fastened with its lower end to the side of the roller shutter so that when the joints between the roller shutter strips are open, as when pulling up the roller shutter, the chain is stretched to such an extent that it cannot wedge in the guide rail . On the other hand, the suspension point of the chain and the lower fastening point should be so far apart that when the roller shutter is closed, which also closes the roller shutter joints between these two points, the shortening of the roller shutter caused by closing these joints is sufficient to reduce the To let the chain collapse so far that the ends of the chain links at least partially come into engagement with one or both opposite legs of the guide rail. The shape in which the chain collapses can be left to chance, but in most cases it will be a zigzag folding of the chain. Because of the choice of the orientation of the axes of the chain links, the folding is always carried out in a plane perpendicular to the axes or to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter slats, so that it is ensured that the ends of the chain links with the sharp-edged corners or tips on them when closing the roller shutter actually move to the two opposite legs of the guide rail.

The roller shutter is prevented from being pushed up by at least one chain link with a corner or tip pressing against one of the two legs of the guide rail and, at the same time, the roller shutter strip, to which the lower end of the chain is attached, forming an abutment at least one further chain link corner or tip presses against the opposite leg of the guide rail and thereby causes a wedging, which opposes a pushing up of the roller shutter.

The chain and its suspension and fastening can be made very flat without any problems, so that the already existing scope in a guide rail is sufficient to be able to mount the securing device without shortening the roller shutter strips. In addition, the safety device according to the invention uses very simple mechanical elements that can be manufactured without observing special dimensional tolerances. The safety device can therefore be manufactured very inexpensively.

The safety device has proven to be very reliable. The shutters of the roller shutters are certain to occur when properly installed. It can also not be overridden from the outside if the suspension point of the chain is set so high that, when the roller shutter is closed, it is on the one hand inaccessible above the outlet slot of the roller shutter box, in which the winding roller of the roller shutter is also housed, and that for other between the upper suspension point and the lower attachment point of the chain, so many joints, preferably three or four joints (corresponding to two or three roller shutter slats are provided, that the chain is stretched by one joint width by lifting the roller shutter slat located above the lower attachment point of the chain, which of is still reachable from the outside, is not sufficient to completely loosen the wedging of the chain.

It has also been shown that the wedging cannot be removed by trying to penetrate the guide rail with an angle iron and drive it up to the chain.

The chain links are preferably flat sheet metal strips which are connected at their ends by rivets to form a chain (claim 2). The forces that occur when locking practically only act in the plane of the metal strips, so that they can be made relatively thin. A thickness of 1 mm is sufficient (claim 3). It is an advantage here, hardened Use chain links to ensure that the sharp-edged corners or tips of the chain links are still sharp-edged and pointed even after repeated use.

In order to keep the thickness of the securing device small, the rivets used to connect the flat chain links are expedient rivets (claim 2).

A locking effect can already occur if only one chain link is pressed against one leg of the guide rail and the abutment required for wedging is formed by the roller shutter strip, to which the chain is attached with its lower end, against the opposite leg of the guide rail presses. However, the chain links are preferably dimensioned and connected to one another in such a way that the strand formed by zigzag-like folding of the chain is wider than the distance between the two opposite legs of the guide rail (claim 4), because then alone the chain locks as soon as it is compressed by its lower end is lifted when trying to lift the roller shutter.

In order to be able to fold up in the desired manner, the chain expediently has at least three, preferably four to six chain links, and in order to move the upper suspension point and the lower attachment point towards one another by a proven amount when closing the roller shutter, should these two points expediently have at least one further, preferably two or three further roller shutter strips arranged; the joints between them, which close when the roller shutter is closed and open when the roller shutter is pulled up, determine the path by which the suspension point and the lower attachment point of the chain can move relative to each other.

The lower chain end is expediently fastened by means of a rivet to a tab fastened to the end of a roller shutter strip and arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter strip. The upper end of the chain can also be hung on a similar plate attached to a roller shutter strip located higher up; the chain is preferably not attached directly to such a link, but with the interposition of a wire rope or a flexible metal band. The flexibility is intended to ensure that the chain and its suspension can easily pass through the upper curved end of the guide rail, which leads the roller shutters inside the roller shutter box to the winding roll. The wire rope and the flexible metal band have the further advantage that, due to their bending elasticity, they resist resiliently pushing up the upper chain end when pushing up the roller shutter, which promotes the earliest possible locking when pushing up the roller shutter.

The securing device on the roller shutter is particularly convenient if metal straps according to claim 6 are used for this purpose, which are attached invisibly from the outside to the inside of the roller shutter. Such metal strips can be inserted together with the already attached chain from below with the tabs into the guide rail and push it past the ends of the roller shutter slats until you have reached the roller shutter slats to which the attachment is to be made. The easiest way to fix it is by riveting, and in the case of roller shutter slats made of solid wood, also by screws. The attachment can take place inside the roller shutter box; however, the metal strips are preferably so long that they protrude so far from the guide rail that outside the guide rail at least two fastening points, which are a bit apart in the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter strips (a distance of 3 to 5 cm is suitable), rivets or the like. Like. Can be set. It is then no longer even necessary to open the roller shutter box.

A particularly good fit of the metal strips and a further ease of assembly can be achieved by providing cutters on them in the area of the bending edge where the tab is formed, which are facing the ends of the roller shutter strips and are pressed into them (claims 6 and 7). On the one hand, the cutting edges fix the position of the tab, on the other hand they give the metal strips a temporary hold before they are connected to the roller shutter strips by rivets or the like. The cutting edges can be pressed into the end faces of the roller shutter slats by means of an L-shaped mounting iron, which is used to move the guide rail upwards. If the short leg of this assembly iron is next to the tab of the metal band and the metal band is at the level of the roller shutter strip to which it is to be attached, then you only need to tilt the assembly iron, which causes the short leg of the assembly iron to cut into the end of the Roller shutter strip presses. The metal strips can then z. B. riveted.

Since the pushing force exerted when the roller shutter is pushed up also acts on the horizontal cutting edge and could bend it, this is preferably supported on the one lateral end of the vertical cutting edge, which can better absorb the pushing force and introduce it into the long leg of the metal strip (claim 8 ).

The easiest way to achieve proper installation is to first fasten the upper metal band to the roller shutter, then to let the chain hang freely with the joints between the roller shutter strips open in the assembly area and to fasten the lower metal band in the position of the lower fastening point determined thereby. The assembly is so easy that any layperson can do it.

If the chain is not to be suspended using a wire rope or a flexible metal band, but rather via a rigid lever, then the upper end of the lever is expediently resiliently attached to a roller shutter strip in the vertical direction in order to compensate for any length compensation required when closing the roller shutter to enable the locking device (claim 9). In order to be able to easily pass through the curved inlet region of the guide rail lying in the roller shutter box, the lever is preferably articulated indirectly to a roller shutter hollow profile strip.

A sheet metal strip provided with a hook, which is inserted into a profile channel, advantageously serves as the fastening means (claims 9 and 10). The lever is articulated on an angled leg of the sheet metal strip lying transversely to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter slats in the guide rail; the other, longer leg of the sheet metal strip is pushed into the profile channel in such a way that it rests on the lower profile channel wall, while the tip of the hook is supported on the opposite profile channel wall. In this way, the outer end of the sheet metal strip can be raised against the spring action of the hook. In order to secure the sheet metal strip against slipping out of the profile channel, the tip of the hook is directed against the upper profile channel wall in such a way that when it tries to pull out the sheet metal strip it tries to dig into this profile channel wall and thus causes a strong inhibition (claim 10) .

  • 1 shows a side view of a first safety device with the roller shutter closed,
  • 2 shows a side view of the same securing direction when the roller shutter joints are open,
  • 3 shows the view of the securing device when looking towards the inside of the roller shutter with the roller shutter joints open,

The figures show part of a lowered roller shutter, namely the end sections of four roller shutter slats 1a-d, which have their ends in the usual way in a vertically running U-shaped guide rail 2, consisting of two opposing legs 2a and 2b and one of them connecting base 2c, are performed. The roller shutter runs with some play in the guide rail 2; in particular, there is usually a distance of a few millimeters between the ends of the roller shutter slats 1a-d and the base 2c.

On the side of the upper roller shutter strip 1d facing the building, rivets 6 are used to fasten an L-shaped steel strip 7, the curly leg 7a of which has the shape of a flap, the arm extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter strip 1d and lies closely against the end of the roller shutter strip 1d. A metal plate 9 is attached to the tab 7a by means of 3 countersunk rivets 8 so that it can pivot about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter strip 1d. On this metal plate is in turn attached with its upper end B in a thin steel cable 10, at the lower end of which the top link of a chain is attached. The chain links 12 are flat, approximately 1 mm thick steel plates, which are articulated at their ends by 3-rivets 8, namely they can be pivoted about axes which are parallel to the longitudinal direction of the roller shutter slats 1a-d. The chain links 12 are identical to one another. They also have the same shape as the metal plate 9 on the upper roller shutter strip 1d. The lowermost chain link is attached with its lower end to the tab 13a of a steel band 13, which is similar to the steel band 7 and is also fastened by rivets 6 to the inside of a roller shutter strip 1a.

The position of the two steel strips 7 and 13 is chosen so that when the roller shutter joints 5 (FIG. 2) are open, the chain 11 is almost stretched, while when the joints 5 are closed, that is to say when the roller shutter is completely lowered, it collapses to the extent that several chain links 12 lean against the opposite legs 2a and 2b of the guide rail 2 with sharp-edged corners. The extent to which the chain 11 can collapse is determined by the number of joints 5 which lie between the two steel strips 7 and 13; in the example shown there are three roller shutter joints 5.

The chain links 12 are dimensioned and joined to form the chain 11 such that at least some chain links 12 act on the two legs 2a, 2b of the guide rail when the roller shutter is closed (FIG. 1).

The chain 11 can collapse in different shapes, mostly it will do so in a zigzag shape (Fig. 1). In an attempt to push up the roller shutters from the outside, an upward force is exerted on the lower fastening point of the chain 11, which tries to compress the chain 11 further and presses the sharp-edged corners of the chain links 12 against the legs 2a and 2b of the guide rail. The resulting wedge effect locks the roller shutter against pushing up.

Provided on the bending edge 14 between the long leg 13b and the tab 13a are a horizontal cutting edge 15 starting from the long leg 13b, and a vertical cutting edge 16 starting from the tab 13a, both of which point away from the tab 13a in the direction of the arrow 17. The cutting edges 15 and 16 dig into the end of the roller shutter strip 1a and give the steel band 13 additional hold. The horizontal cutting edge 15 lies on the lateral edge of the vertical cutting edge 16 and is supported on the latter.

The embodiment of FIG. 5 differs from that of FIG. 3 in that instead of a steel cable 10 for suspending the chain 11, a rigid lever 20 is provided, which is pivotable on the outer leg 21 of an L about an axis running in the longitudinal direction of the hollow profile bar 1d -shaped steel band is attached, the long leg 22 rests on the lower wall 23 of a profile channel. At the end of the long leg 23 a resilient hook 25 is riveted, which is directed with its tip 26 obliquely to the opening of the profile channel and against the upper profile channel wall 24 and tries to dig into it. This prevents the steel strip 21, 22 from slipping out of the profile channel and, due to the spring action of the hook 25, the short leg 21, which lies in the guide rail 2, can be raised as far as possible up to the stop on the upper profile channel wall 24 and thereby bring about a length compensation.
