Description

The present invention relates to a blank for a folding box according to the preamble of independent claim 1.

Folding boxes in which the side edges are provided with tongues that hold the walls in the position of use after being pushed through slots are called plug-in folding boxes. They have the advantage that they can be kept spread out on one level in a retail store and can be put together for use and therefore require little space both for transport as raw material and for storage.

A first such folding box is described, for example, in CH-A-267 021. Here, opposite side walls have tabs which are set up for insertion into slots in adjacent end walls. The ends of the tongues have a broadening for secure mounting in the slots. The top wall can also be fastened in the closed position by means of tongues in the slots in the end walls after folding over onto the box.

Even if such a box is well suited for packing patisserie or the like, it has several disadvantages from today's perspective: In order to ensure a perfect closure at the edges, the tongues must be attached to the end of the closure flaps, which increases the cost of materials leads what makes the cuts more expensive. A later removal of the packed material is difficult because the widening of the tongues opposes the opening and finally the tabs with the tongues are known to lie on the outside of the box, which makes it difficult to apply decorations or advertising prints.

The last-mentioned disadvantage was remedied in accordance with CH-A-520 032 by arranging the slots in the fold line between flaps and side walls, so that the flaps and tongues were arranged inside the box when the folding box was assembled. But both the assembly of the box and the opening are not intended for goods that can be easily deformed and, moreover, a considerable amount of material is punched out at each edge.

Another comparable box is known from GB-A-893 469.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a folding box in which a box can be put together with a minimal amount of material and without tongues and slots, which has a closure at all edges between the side walls and which can be opened completely in a few steps, so that easily deformable objects such as cream cakes or the like can be removed without damage.

According to the invention, this object can be achieved by the features in the characterizing part of independent patent claim 1.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. It shows
  • Fig. 1 is a plan view of the blank according to the invention and
  • Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a partially folded and shown in a phase during the closing folding box.

Ebenso wie auch die Faltlinien 12 und die Faltlinien 13, 15 auf einer Geraden liegen.1 shows a bottom wall 1, a top wall 2, a rear wall strip 3, a front wall 4 and four side wall strips 5, 6, 7 and 8. A closure flap is designed as a covering front wall 9. The bottom wall 1 and the top wall 2 are delimited from the rear wall strip 3 by fold lines 10, 11, and the front wall 4 is delimited from the top wall 2 by a fold line 12. The side wall strips each form a continuous edge 20, 21 and have extensions 30, 31 on the side wall strips 6, 8 and 32, 33 on the side wall strips 5, 6. These extensions 30-33 are delimited from the adjacent side wall strips by fold lines 13, 14, 15, 16. The overlapping front wall 9 is delimited from the bottom wall 1 by a fold line 17. This fold line 17 and the fold lines 14, 16 in the side wall strips 7, 8 lie on a straight line. Just as the fold lines 12 and the fold lines 13, 15 lie on a straight line.

The extensions 30, 32 are separated by cuts 34, 35 from the front wall 4, and between the extensions 31, 33 and the overlapping front wall 9 there are also separating cuts 36, 37.

The side wall strips 5, 6 and 7, 8 are delimited from the top wall 2 and the bottom wall 1 by side fold lines 42, 43 and 44, 45. The middle lines 40, 41 are formed by the fold lines 10, 11 which extend beyond the side wall strips to delimit the rear wall strip 3 from the bottom and top walls 1, 2. These side middle parts 40, 41 have cut out triangles 46, 47, namely the triangular sides lie on the one hand on the side fold line sections 48, 49 and on the diagonals 50, 51 and 52, 53. Fold lines are on the outer halves of the diagonals 50-53 in the form of interrupted cuts penetrating the material.

Finally, the overlapping front wall 9 also has an insertion tongue 60 with a pull tongue 61, and accordingly an incision 62 is present on the front wall 4 at the folding line 12 in order to hold the box together in the folded state and the extensions 31, 33 are provided with hooking incisions 63, 64 provided.

The folding of this blank can be seen in Fig.2 2. First, the side wall strips 7, 8 are bent upwards and the extensions 31, 33 are bent over the fold lines 14, 16 and by hooking the hook incisions 63, 64 attached to each other. By unfolding the side wall strips 5 and 6 on the top wall 2 by folding along the fold lines 42, 43 and swinging up the top wall 2 around the fold line 10, when the side wall strips 7 and 8 are pressed inwards, the side middle parts 40, 41 are folded, namely first fold edges are formed along the diagonals 50, 52 and the fold line 11, which are arranged in opposite directions, the fold over the entire fold line 11 being constant. In the last closing phase, the folded edges along the diagonals 51 and 53 result.

When the top wall finally rests on the side wall strip edges 20, 21, the extensions 30, 32 can be folded in and the front wall 4 can be folded down. The overlapping front wall 9 is still folded up and the tongue 60 is pushed into the slot 62, whereby the box remains in its closed state.

When opening the box, the tongue 60 is first pulled out of the slot 62 by pulling on the pull tab 61 and then the top wall is folded back. After unhooking the two extensions 31, 33, the side wall strips can also be folded down, and the contents of the box are exposed and can be pulled out or pushed to the side or to the front. It does not need to be lifted up.

Such a box therefore does not need tongues and cuts on each edge between the side walls in order to form a good holder. As can also be clearly seen from FIG. 2, the side middle parts in the proposed embodiment result in a complete closure of the box because the outer diagonal halves of the diagonals 51, 53 fold onto their inner diagonal halves, so that the triangles 65, 66 on the cut triangles 46, 47 come to rest and thus cover these openings.

In addition to these two advantages mentioned, a very important advantage is seen today in the fact that no additional tabs and tongues are to be arranged on the edges between the side walls and that therefore a substantial amount of material can be saved which would otherwise be lost as a result of the corners cut out necessarily has to apply.

Instead of the shape described in this exemplary embodiment with punched and removed triangles 46, 47, only the triangular sides lying in the diagonals 50, 53 can be punched, while the base line is embossed as a fold line. This means that the triangles can be inserted on the inside into the folding box and then serve as a seal for free-flowing goods. If the triangles 46, 47 are folded outwards and glued to the side walls 5, 6, there is a reinforcement of the rear wall strip 3 or the bottom of the closed folding box.
