Description
- La présente invention a trait à des connecteurs électriques notamment des micro-contacts destinés à être fixés sur des câbles coaxiaux ou des câbles bifilaires et être mis en place chacun dans une alvéole d'un boitier de connecteur, notamment un connecteur multicontacts. Les connecteurs selon l'invention sont du type comportant un corps cylindrique à l'intérieur duquel est montée la pièce mâle ou femelle de contact, le corps cylindrique présentant dans sa paroi des portions extérieures élastiques, notamment des languettes découpées, venant en butée contre des parties en saillie à l'intérieur de l'alvéole du boitier pour immobiliser le contact dans celui-ci.
- De tels connecteurs sont habituellement composés d'une pluralité de composants à assembler par l'utilisateur lors de la fixation du contact sur le câble. Ainsi on connait de tels connecteurs dont les composants séparés à assembler sont: le corps cylindrique muni des portions élastiques d'accrochage, la pièce de contact mâle ou femelle, un manchon isolant destiné à être interposé entre la pièce de contact et le corps et une ferrule destinée à permettre l'immobilisation du contact sur le câble, notamment par sertissage, soit dans ce cas quatre composants. Dans le cas de câbles bifilaires le contact comprend en outre habituellement un adaptateur.
- On voit donc que de tels connecteurs nécessitent de fabriquer, de maintenir en stock et d'assembler sur le lieu d'utilisation un assez grand nombre de composants. Compte tenu des très faibles dimensions de ces composants qui, dans la pratique sont destinés à des câbles dont le diamètre extérieur est de l'ordre de 1 à 3 millimètres, les contacts sont relativement compliqués à mettre en oeuvre et nécessitent notamment un personnel très spécialisé.
- On connait par ailleurs des connecteurs constitués d'un seul tenant. Ces connecteurs présentent l'inconvénient que leur fixation sur le câble par sertissage effectué à la partie arrière du contact, entraîne une déformation de l'isolant, ce qui d'une part risque de détériorer celui-ci et d'autre part entraîne des problèmes de connexion électrique et de tenue mécanique.
- La présente invention se propose de fournir un connecteur évitant les inconvénients mentionnés ci-dessus et permettant de plus un raccordement facile et rapide au câble.
- Le connecteur selon l'invention se caractérise par le fait qu'il est constitué de deux composants emboîtables assemblables, le premier composant, extérieur, comportant un corps cylindrique muni extérieurement de moyens d'accrochage dans une alvéole de boitier de connecteur, se prolongeant par une partie arrière tubulaire, et à l'intérieur duquel est fixé un manchon isolant, et un second composant, intérieur, comportant une pièce de contact soit pour le conducteur intérieur soit pour l'un des deux câbles bifilaires, un fût de connexion de l'autre conducteur du câble et un isolant interposé entre ledit fût et ladite pièce de contact.
- Ainsi pour le montage d'un câble coaxial ou bifilaire celui-ci est fixé, après dénudage d'extrémité, par sertissage sur le second, intérieur, composant comportant la pièce de contact, puis ce second composant est emmanché par l'arrière dans le premier, l'ensemble étant immobilisé par sertissage sur la partie arrière du premier composant.
- Selon le mode de réalisation décrit ci-après le premier composant, extérieur, décrit ci-dessus est identique pour des câbles bifilaires et pour des câbles coaxiaux. Il est seulement nécessaire de disposer d'un tel composant pour contact mâle et d'un tel composant pour contact femelle, différant entre eux par la conformation de leur partie avant.
- En ce qui concerne le second composant intérieur, des différences de structures existent entre celui destiné aux câbles bifilaires et celui destiné aux câbles coaxiaux par suite des différences de conformation des conducteurs du câble à fixer sur ce second composant. Ainsi pour des câbles bifilaires le fût du second composant, cylindrique sur la majeure partie de sa longueur, peut avantageusement présenter dans sa partie arrière une section comportant un méplat contre lequel vient s'appliquer une partie non dénudée de l'un des conducteurs du câble bifilaire, le second composant comprenant en outre une ferrule entourant le fût sur une partie de sa longueur. Il existe naturellement en outre pour chaque type de câble des second composants de type mâle et de type femelle différant entre eux par la structure de la pièce de contact, sous forme de broche mâle dans le premier cas et sous forme de douille femelle dans le second.
- D'autres avantages et caractéristiques de l'invention apparaitront à la lecture de la descripi- tion suivante d'exemples particuliers de réalisation en se référant au dessin annexé dans lequel:
- - la figure 1 illustre un contact mâle réalisé selon l'invention monté dans l'alvéole d'un boitier de connecteur,
- - les figures 2 et 3 illustrent les deux composants formant le contact représenté à la figure 1,
- - la figure 4 est une coupe selin IV-IV de la figure 1,
- - la figure 5 illustre un contact mâle selon l'invention monté sur un câble bifilaire,
- - les figures 6 et 7 illustrent les deux composants formant le contact représenté à la figure 5,
- - la figure 8 est une vue en coupe selon VIII-VIII de la figure 5,
- - la figure 9 est une vue en coupe selon IX-IX de la figure 5,
- - les figures 10 à 18 illustrent les différentes phases de montage d'un contact selon l'invention sur un câble coaxial,
- - les figures 19 à 26 illustrent les différentes phases de montage d'un contact selon l'invention sur un câble bifilaire.
- On se réfère tout d'abord aux figures 1 à 4 qui illustrent un contact de type mâle selon l'invention pour un câble coaxial.
- Le connecteur est illustré monté dans une alvéole de boitier de connecteur, notamment de connecteur multicontacts. Ce contact est réalisé par emboitement puis assemblage puis sertissage, comme cela sera décrit par la suite uniquement de deux composants, l'un représenté à la figure 2, l'autre représenté à la figure 3.
- Le premier composant, extérieur, comporte un corps cylindrique 1 muni extérieurement de languettes 2 formant harpons et servant à l'accrochage du contact réalisé dans l'alvéole du boitier comme illustré dans la figure 1.
- Le corps 1 se prolonge vers l'arrière par une partie tubulaire 3. A l'intérieur du corps 1 est fixé un manchon isolant 4.
- Le second composant, intérieur, illustré à la figure 3 comporte une pièce de contact avant 5, dans le cas présent une broche de contact mâle, sur laquelle est fixée par sertissage l'extrémité dénudée du conducteur intérieur 6 du câble coaxial, le conducteur extérieur 7 sous forme de tresse de ce câble étant engagé autour d'un fût de connexion 8 constituant avec la pièce de contact 5 et un isolant 9 le second composant selon l'invention.
- On va maintenant décrire en se référant aux figures 10 à 13 les différentes phases de montage du contact selon l'invention sur un câble coaxial. Comme on le voit sur la figure 10 on retire tout d'abord la gaine extérieure du câble sur une certaine longueur laissant apparaitre la tresse métallique 7 constituant le conducteur extérieur du câble. On dénude ensuite comme on le voit sur la figure 11 sur une certaine longueur à partir de l'extrémité le diélectrique séparant les conducteurs intérieur et extérieur du câble. On dénude alors comme représenté à la figure 12 sur une certaine longueur à partir de l'extrémité l'âme ou conducteur intérieur 6 du câble.
- On évase alors légèrement la tresse 7 constituant le conducteur ÷extérieur,, comme représenté à la figure 13 puis, comme représenté à la figure 14, on introduit le diélectrique et le conducteur central 6 dans le second composant du contact selon l'invention, après quoi, comme schématisé à la figure 15 on procède au sertissage du conducteur intérieur 6 dans ce second composant, position que l'on voit le mieux sur la figure 3.
- On rabat ensuite la tresse métallique 7 sur le fût 8 comme illustré dans la figure 16 et l'on introduit l'ensemble dans le premier composant, comme illustré dans la figure 17, et enfin, comme illustré dans la figure 18, on sertit le premier composant dans sa partie arrière, l'immobilisant sur le câble et le second composant. On voit mieux le contact ainsi terminé dans la figure 1.
- On se réfère maintenant aux figures 6 à 9 qui illustrent un contact selon l'invention utilisable pour des câbles bifilaires.
- Comme on le voit sur la figure 6 le premier composant d'un tel contact est identique au premier composant pour contact coaxial représenté à la figure 2.
- Le second composant représenté à la figure 7 présente une partie avant identique à celle du composant représenté à la figure 3, le fût de contact 8' étant par contre de conformation différente en particulier dans sa partie arrière 8'a qui présente une section méplate comme on le voit le mieux dans la figure 9. Dans ce mode de réalisation ce composant comprend en outre une ferrule 10 entourant complètement dans la zone arrière le fût et les deux conducteurs du câble et présentant un contour ouvert sur le reste de sa longueur comme on s'en rend compte notamment à l'examen de la figure 8.
- L'un des conducteurs du câble 11, est mis en place dans le second composant du connecteur, illustré à la figure 7, de la même manière que le conducteur intérieur 6 dans le premier mode de réalisation.
- Le second conducteur 12 est dans sa partie dénudée, comme on le voit sur la figure 5 au contact du fût 8' du composant, intérieur, et est immobilisé entre ce fût et le corps 3 du composant extérieur par sertissage de ce dernier de la même manière que le conducteur extérieur 7 du premier mode de réalisation.
- On va maintenant décrire en se référant plus particulièrement aux figures 19 à 26 la fixation d'un contact selon l'invention sur un câble bifilaire.
- Comme schématisé sur la figure 19 on détor- sade les deux fils du câble d'une certaine longueur, matérialisée par la flèche.
- On coupe l'un des câbles, comme illustré à la figure 20 puis on dénude l'âme conductrice de ce fil comme illustré à la figure 21. On dénude alors, comme représenté à la figure 22, l'âme conductrice du second fil.
- Comme représenté à la figure 23 on introduit cette âme conductrice 11 dans le second composant décrit ci-dessus du contact selon l'invention, l'âme conductrice 12 du second fil étant alors appliquée contre le fût 8'.
- On procède ensuite comme schématisé à la figure 24 au sertissage du second composant sur le conducteur 11. Cette disposition correspond à la figure 7.
- On introduit alors l'ensemble ainsi réalisé dans le premier composant et l'on procède au sertissage de ce dernier dans sa partie arrière 3, comme dans le premier mode de réalisation, jusqu'à obtenir le contact terminé que l'on voit le mieux sur la figure 5.
- Toutes les opérations qui ont été décrites ci-dessus sont bien entendu identiques dans le cas de contacts de type femelle.
