Description

METHOD AND A PLANT FOR THE PILING OF BRICKS
The invention relates to a method for the piling of bricks, especially palletizing, where the bricks after having been hardened in a furnace are taken from furnace carriages coming from the furnace and placed on top of each other in piles of a predetermined length and width.
It is known to use such a method in connection with sand-lime bricks which are piled on so-called furnace carriages, which are thereafter driven in autoclaves for hardening of the bricks which after finishing are separated one by one for palletizing. This method is timeconsuming and gives occasion for a good deal of waste, as the extensive handling of the single brick often destroys its appearance.
The object of the invention is to show a method which is faster than earlier known methods and secures a more careful treatmnet of the bricks.
According to the invention this is obtained by taking from the furnace carriage a number of rows lying next to and, over each other, which number corresponds to thepredetermined width and length of the wanted piles, whereafter the rows are placed in continuation of the earlier placed rows on a conveyor so that from the thus continuously formed row on the conveyor a number of layers is cut off corresponding to the wanted height of the pile which layers are thereafter tipped 90º to the position of the pile. By these means is obtained that the bricks are practically not mutually removed from each other during the conveyance from the furnace carriage to its placing in the finished piles, and it has turnt out that by this a considerable reduction of the time-consume and the waste of damaged bricks can be ob tained. It has hereby turnt out that it does, not present any obstacle to the carrying through of thn method that the bricks on the furnace carriage arc lying in rows o different length corresponding to a round cross section of the autoclave.
According to the invention the layers lying over each other during the conveyance from the furnace carriage to the conveyor can be lifted somewhat apart from each other. Hereby bricks, which might have been glued togeth er during the baking, can be separated, and the single layers can without any damage to the bricks. bo mutually displaced horizontally to an exact placing of the bricks over each other on the conveyor.
According to the invention foil iu after the tipping placed between layers of bricks lying over each other in the pile. Hereby the formed pile will be more stable.
According to the invention a foil shrinking bag can after the tipping of the pile be mounted on this. Hereby the stability of the pile will be further increased.
The invention further relates to a plant for the performance of the method according to the invention, and the plant is characterized in that it has a conveyor for the feeding of bricks in a continuous row of bricks lying over and next to each other corresponding to the length and width of the wanted piles, a catching device for catching from a furnace carriage rows of bricks lying over and next to each other corresponding to the wanted length and width, and members for cutting off from the continuous row feeded by the conveyor a number of layers of bricks corresponding to the wanted height of the pile and tipping this 90° to the wanted position of the pile .
The catching device of the plant can, according to the invention, be adapted for during the conveyance of the bricks from the furnace carriage to the conveyor to lift the layers lying over each other apart.
The plant can further, according to the invention, be provided with members for the introduction of layers of foil between layers of bricks lying over each other after the tipping of these.
Finally the plant can have members for the mounting of foil shrinking bags on the formed piles.
In the following the invention will be further elucidated with reference to the drawing where
Fig. 1 schematically shows part of a plant for the piling of bricks according to the invention and Fig. 2 another part of the plant shown in Fig. 1.
On the drawing 11 is a conveyor which receives bricksin piles 16, corresponding to the interior shape of a furnace not shown on the drawing, furnace in which the bricks have been hardened. The plant according to the invention shall repile these bricks in piles which are fitted for dispatch and correspond to standard pallets. For this purpose from the piles 16 on the conveyor 11 a number of rows 1 lying next to and over each other and corresponding to the length and width of the wanted piles 2, is taken by a pair of tongs placed at 7 and not shown in detail on the drawing, and placed in continuation of each other so they form a continuous row 3 on a conveyor 4. The pair of tongs is adapted for during the conveyance of the bricks from the conveyor 11 to the conveyor 4 to separate the layers of bricks lying over each other somewhat from each other as shown on. the drawing. Hereby it will be possible to separate bricks which during the baking have rested on each other and hereby have come to stick together, and at the same time it will be possible to displace the layers in proportion to each other so that the. single bricks when placed on the conveyor 4 come to lie exactly over each other.
On the conveyor I is thus formed a row of bricks 3, the hindmost end of which is continuously prolonged of the pair of tongs 7. From the foremost end of this row a length is continuously cut off by members 8 which length corresponds to the height of the wanted piles 2, and after the intermediary layer of a pallet 9, which is taken from the pile 10, this is tipped 90° and placed on a conveyor' 12.
From the conveyor 12 the piles are transferred to a conveyor 13,. as the layers lying over each other during the conveyance at a couple of places are separated from each other by members placed at 17 with introduction of foil 5 between the layers. Hereby a stabilization of the pile during the conveyance- is obtained. This stabilization is further increased by mounting a foil shrinking bag 6 which is shrinked on in a shrinking furnace 14. From the shrinking furnace the pile is carried on by a conveyor 15 ready for dispatch. The various members in the plant can be controlled from a control desk 18.
The plant described can in different ways be changed for fitting particular purposes. The essential thing about the invention is that the brick during the whole conveyance from the original piles in the hardening furnace, adapted to its usually round interior cross section, until the finished piles, adapted to standard pallets, in the main maintain their mutual placing. Hereby the handling of the bricks is considerably reduced and with this also the consequently arised damages of the edges of the bricks. In this connection it is essential that the bricks already before being placed on the conveyor 4 are aligned to their correct vertical placing over each other in the row 3, as they will otherwise during the tipping of 90° to their position on the pallet 9 hit each other and consequently be exposed to damages. The placing of the bricks in the endless row 3 on the conveyor 4 makes it possible in a convenient way from this row to cut off piles of different height, corresponding to the wanted quantities to deliver without changing the mutual placing of the bricks.

1, A method, for the piling of bricks, especially palletizing, where the bricks after having been hardened in a furnace are taken from furnace carriages coming from the furnace and placed on top of each other in piles of a predetermined width and length, c h a r a ct e r i z e d i n that from the furnace carriage a number of rows (1), lying next to and over each other, is taken, which number corresponds to the predetermined width and length respectively of the wanted piles (2) which rows are thereafter placed in continuation of earlier placed rows (3) on a conveyor (4) so that from the thus formed row (3) on the conveyor a number of layers is cut off, corresponding to the wanted height of the pile (2) which layers are thereafter tipped 90° to the position of the pile.
2. A method according to claim 1, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that the layers (1) lying over each other durifig the conveyance from the furnace carriage to the conveyor (4) are lifted somewhat apart.
3. A method according to claims 1 or 2, c h a r a c te r i z e d i n that after the tipping foil (5) is placed between the layers of bricks lying over each other in the pile (2).
4. A method according to one or more of the preceding claims, c h a r a ct e r i z e d i n that after the tipping of the pile a foil shrinking bag (6) is mounted on this.

A plant for the performance of the method according to the preceding claims, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that it has a conveyor (4) for the feeding of bricks in a continuous row (3). of bricks lying over and next to each other, corresponding to the length and width of the wanted piles (2), a catching device for catching from a furnace carriage rows of bricks (1) lying over and next to each other, corresponding to the wanted length and width, and members (8) for cutting off from the continuous row (3) feeded by the conveyor (4) a number of layers of bricks, corresponding to the wanted height of the pile and tipping this 90° to the wanted position of the pile.
6. A plant according to claim 5, c h a r a c t e r i ze d i n that the catching device (7) is adapted to during the conveyance of the bricks (1) from the furnace carriage to the conveyor (4) to lift the layers lying over each other apart.
7. A plant according to claim 5 or 6, c h a r a c te ri z e d i n that it has members for the introduction of layers of foil (5) between layers of bricks lying over each other after the tipping of these.
8. A plant according to one or more of the claims 5 to
7, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that it has members for the mounting of foil shrinking bags (6) on the formed piles.
