Description

The invention relates to an insert frame for converting a single-glazed casement to insulating glazing, consisting of miter-cut and mitred profile strips adapted to the opening of the casement, one of which together with the insulating glazing from one side of the casement and the other from the other side forth can be used in these.

Such insert frames are known for example from DE-PS 28 10 710 of the applicant. They allow conversion from single glazing to double glazing without the need to remove the existing casement or even a frame. Rather, the existing single glazing is simply removed. Changes to the frame and sash are not necessary. Remnants of putty and glass in the rebate in the single-glazed casement can remain and do not have to be removed completely.

In addition to the fold, which is usually located on the outside of the wing frame of the building, conventional wing frames mostly have a cross-sectional shape that slopes back from the fold. The known insert frames were not adapted to this sloping surface. Therefore, a cross-sectionally wedge-shaped cavity was created between the casement and the insert frame, which had to be filled with adhesive or sealing compounds. A stable connection between the sash frame and insert frame therefore usually only emerged after the sealing and adhesive compositions used had solidified, but not because of the shape of the profile strips as such.

The invention has for its object a generic to create appropriate insert frame, the profile strips already allow a firm connection between the sash frame and insert frame due to their cross-sectional shape.

This object is achieved in an insert frame of the type mentioned by a first profile strip with an L-shaped cross-sectional area, which rests with one leg against the outer peripheral surface of the insulating glazing and with the other leg against an edge strip of the insulating glazing, a second profile strip with a total wedge-shaped cross-section, which has a longitudinal groove adjacent to the edge of the stronger side and can be inserted between the casement and the leg of the first profiled strip lying against the outer peripheral surface of the insulating glazing, and a third profiled strip with a flange which can be inserted into the groove of the second profiled strip and a Another flange that bears against an opposite edge strip of the double glazing.

The first profile strip, which is also to be referred to below as the support strip, since it surrounds and supports the insulating glazing, preferably has longitudinal grooves and / or ribs on the outer surface of the leg abutting against the outer circumference of the insulating glazing, which are provided with corresponding grooves and / or ribs interact on a surface of the second profile strip, which is also referred to below as a terminal strip. These grooves and ribs allow the carrier strip and the terminal strip to be locked in at least two lateral positions in accordance with the insulating glass thickness used, as will be explained in more detail later. The assembly of the first and second profile strip is carried out in such a way that the first profile strip is first inserted from the outer surface of the casement containing the fold, until the flange of the insulating glazing surrounding it in cross-section L-shaped portion lies above the sloping cross-sectional area of the casement. With its further profile parts, which will be explained in more detail later, the first profile strip or carrier strip surrounds the fold with any cement and glass remnants that may be left there and closes the casement in a position lying below the fold.

Between the cross-sectionally sloping surface of the casement and the legs of the carrier strip surrounding the insulating glazing, the clamping strip is then pressed in wedge-shaped with the insertion of adhesive and sealing agents until one of the catches formed by the ribs and grooves engage. Even in this state and without the adhesives having to harden, the arrangement of the carrier strip and the clamping strip is fixed in the casement.

Then, from the opposite side of the insulating glazing, the third profile strip, which can be referred to as an end strip, is inserted.

Specifically, the carrier strip has a cross section which runs back at an acute angle from the edge of the leg of the L-shaped cross-sectional area lying against the edge strip of the insulating glazing and is then angled at an obtuse angle to form an outer cover flange.

The inner cover strip has, for example, an h-shaped cross-sectional shape, the lower left flange of which is inserted into the groove of the terminal strip, the lower right flange covers the terminal strip from the outside and the upper flange lies against the edge strips of the insulating glazing .

The profile strips according to the invention can be made of plastic, but other or several different materials can also be used at the same time. For example, insulating glazing is known, which is already surrounded by the manufacturer with an encircling aluminum strip with a U-shaped cross section, which has an additional flange that forms a seal with the casement. With aluminum frames of this type there is the disadvantage that the aluminum profile which is continuous from the inside of the frame to the outside of the frame can constitute a cold bridge. On the other hand, it is advantageous that the aluminum edging can already be manufactured by the manufacturer and thus inexpensively. This advantage can be maintained by eliminating the formation of a cold bridge if the terminal strip according to the invention is used for assembly and the inner end strip is designed such that it engages over the inner flange of the aluminum profile.

This inner flange of the aluminum profile can also be dispensed with completely in the case of prefabricated aluminum surrounds, since assembly with the aid of the terminal strip and end strip according to the invention is readily possible.

In conventional casement frames, the fold is, as already indicated, on the outside of the building, while the sloping surface of the casement is inclined towards the inside of the building. This orientation should be referred to below, provided that the outside or inside of the casement is addressed. However, it is obvious that a reverse arrangement is also possible.

Preferred exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the attached drawing.

In Fig. 1, a frame 10 and a sash 12 is designated. The frame 10 carries a sealing strip 14 for sealing the joint between the frame and sash, which will not be discussed here. The cross-section of the casement shows that it has a fold 16 on the outside of the building on the left in FIG. 1, from which the upper surface 18 of the casement 12 slopes away towards the interior of the building. In the fold 16 there are unspecified glass and kit remains. An insulating glazing 20 is sealed on the circumferential edges of the glass pane forming the insulating glazing by means of a suitable strip (not specified in more detail) in connection with sealing and adhesive materials. Insulating glazing of this type is known and should therefore not be explained in more detail.

The insert frame according to the invention comprises three profile strips which - in the case of rectangular windows - are mitred and connected to form closed rectangles. This is a first profile strip or carrier strip 22, a second profile strip or terminal strip 24 and a third profile strip or end strip 26.

The first profile strip or support strip 22 has a Cross-section essentially L-shaped profile region 28, which surrounds the insulating glazing 20 on the circumference with a first flange 30 and abuts with the second flange 32 against an outer edge strip of the insulating glazing with the insertion of a rubber seal 34. The first flange 30 is supported on the upper back of the casement 12 adjoining the fold 16. Starting from the upper edge of the flange 32, the carrier strip 22 has a flange 34 which slopes at an acute angle and a cover flange 36 which branches off from its edge and extends at a complementary obtuse angle, which extends to the outer surface of the sash frame 12 and there with a web 38 against the sash frame is present. A reinforcing rib 40 running parallel to the flanges 32, 36 is formed on the underside of the flange 34.

On the top of the flange 30 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 there are two longitudinal ribs 42 below the position of the glass panes of the insulating glazing 20 so that they improve the support of the glass panes. A longitudinal rib 44 is provided on the underside of the flange 30 near the free edge. In the cross-sectional shape of the rib 44, there are at least two grooves 46 on the upper surface of the terminal strip 24. If the carrier strip 22 has been pushed into the casement 12 from the left in FIG. 1, possibly together with the insulating glazing 20, the terminal strip 24 with the insertion of adhesive in a wedge shape into the space between the upper and lower surfaces 18 of the casement 12 and its legs 30. The function of the grooves 46 and the rib 44 is to allow a snap-in between the profile strips 1 and 2 in at least two different positions in accordance with the thickness of the insulating glazing 20 used. After this engagement, the profile strips 22, 24 are already fixed in the casement 12.

The third profile strip or end strip 26, which is located on the inside of the window, has, as already mentioned, essentially an H-shaped cross section. The left lower flange 48, based on these letters, is used for insertion into a groove 50 on the upper surface of the terminal strip 24 adjacent to its outer edge, which groove 50 is closed off to the right in FIG. 1 by a slightly protruding flange, not specified is.

The lower left flange 48 merges upward into a further flange 52, which is angled at the upper end at an obtuse angle to the insulating glazing 20 and supports and seals this with the insertion of sealing materials. The lower right flange 54 is supported on the surface 18 of the casement 12.

The clamping strip 24, which is wedge-shaped in cross section, not only locks the support strip 22 in the casement 12, but also contributes to supporting the insulating glazing 20.

In the example of FIG. 1, the three profile strips 22, 24, 26 consist of plastic. The terminal block 24 and the support bar 26 can, however, also be used in conjunction with an aluminum carrier bar or a prefabricated aluminum frame, as will be explained below.

The last shown application of the invention is shown in FIG. 3. A profile strip designated overall by 56 is made of aluminum and comprises the insulating glazing 20 with a cross-sectional area 58 which is U-shaped in cross section. A flange 60 extends from this to the bottom left in FIG overlaps and covers.

On the underside of the profile strip 56 near its right edge in FIG. 3 there is again a rib 62 which corresponds to the rib 44 in FIG. 1. The grooves 46 of the terminal block 24, which are shown in more detail in FIG. 1, interact with the rib 62. The end strip 26 is designed such that its vertically upstanding flange 52 with its obtuse angled inward end region covers the inner, vertical flange of the aluminum profile strip 56 and overlaps from above, so that it is not visible from the inside and cannot serve as a cold bridge .

In this case, the aluminum profile essentially corresponds to the plastic profile of the carrier strip 22 according to FIG. 1. It can also be used in the same way as it is possible to insert the insulating glazing 20 into the modified aluminum profile strip 56, after this is mounted in the casement and the terminal block 24 is inserted.
