Description

The invention relates to a halogen incandescent lamp holder, in particular for vehicle headlights, the incandescent lamp at the foot of the gas bulb has two laterally projecting contact flanges which run in one plane and form contact or contact surfaces with which they come into contact with two mutually insulated contact plates each have a projection which engages in the contact flanges for fixing the incandescent lamp and form a flat plug connection at one end.

The object of the invention is to design the lamp holder in such a way that it ensures an optimal tight fit for the incandescent lamp which can be used in it, without making it heavier or more difficult than the previously known lamp holders (FR-A-1 475752 and FR-A-1 531 505) it is more cumbersome to use the light bulb. A high quality of the tight fit of the incandescent lamp means that the vehicle shakes while driving no relative movements, e.g. Vibrations between the light bulb and the lamp holder, are caused. This is not guaranteed in the known holders, since the holding force exerted on the contact flanges is applied by a long spring arm with unfavorable lever ratios.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that the free end of the first contact plate is bent like an eye to the flat central part of this contact plate and forms a gap there, the width of which is adapted to the material thickness of the contact flanges of the incandescent lamp in such a way that a first contact flange inserted into the gap the eyelet is held elastically resilient, and that an arm which is resiliently bendable in the plane of the contact flanges and has at least one tongue angled into the plane of the contact flanges is formed on the second contact plate in such a way that this arm is to be bent outward and inward for insertion of the incandescent lamp his return from this position with his tongue presses the second contact flange of the incandescent lamp which is now inserted with its first contact flange into the gap on the first contact plate against the second contact plate.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the resiliently bendable arm has a further angled tongue which rests on the second contact plate on the side opposite the contact surface of the second contact flange of the incandescent lamp. In this embodiment, it is always ensured that the contact flanges of the incandescent lamp form a secure connection with the corresponding contact plates without the adjustable arm being subjected to torsion.

Die im spitzen Winkel zueinander stehenden Zungen werden durch die federnde Wirkung des ausbiegbaren Armes gegen das zweite Kontaktblech und den zweiten Kontaktflansch gedrückt, und durch die Keilwirkung der das zweite Kontaktblech und den zweiten Kontaktflansch umfassenden Zungen liegt auch nach mehrmaligem Wechseln der Glühlampe der Kontaktflansch unter Vorspannung an dem korrespondierenden Kontaktblech an.Furthermore, it is expedient that the tongue of the resilient arm, which is pretensioned on the second contact flange of the incandescent lamp, is rounded at the free end by bending and that the further tongue, which is in contact with the second contact plate, forms an acute angle to the contact plate. The rounding of the free end of the tongue and the acute angle formed by the two tongues relative to one another ensure that the contact plate and the contact flange of the incandescent lamp are gripped securely when the incandescent lamp is inserted. The tongues, which are at an acute angle to one another, are pressed against the second contact plate and the second contact flange by the resilient action of the bendable arm, and by the wedge effect of the tongues comprising the second contact plate and the second contact flange, the contact flange remains under tension even after the bulb has been changed several times on the corresponding contact plate.

It is also advantageous if the first contact plate on the end face of the molded eyelet is chamfered or rounded towards the center of the lamp holder. This makes it easier and faster for the first contact flange to be inserted into the gap formed by the eyelet when the incandescent lamp is inserted.

Another advantage is when the free end of the spring-bendable arm is slightly bent in the direction of adjustment to the outside of the lamp holder. The bent free end of the arm serves as a handle for resilient bending of the arm.

The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the inventive concept, namely shows
  • FIG. 1 shows a central longitudinal section through the lamp holder and the incandescent lamp before insertion,
  • Figure 2 is a top view of the lamp holder and
  • Figure 3 is a section along the line BB, while
  • Figure 4 shows a section along the line AA.

The lamp holder 1 shown in the drawing consists essentially of a receiving part 2 made of plastic and two contact plates 3 and 4 riveted to the receiving part 2, which with the resiliently bendable arm 5, which is riveted to the contact plate 3, the incandescent lamp 6 fix.

The receiving part 2 is inserted into a rectangular opening of the reflector 7 at the apex. In the opening of the reflector 7, the receiving part 2 is centered by a circumferential recess 8 adapted to the reflector curvature on the outer edge of the receiving part 2 and by a semicircular projection 9 formed on the longitudinal side of the receiving part 2 and projecting into the interior of the reflector. On the other long side of the receiving part 2, a rectangular extension 10 protruding into the interior of the reflector is formed in the center, by means of which the incandescent lamp holder 1 or the receiving part 2 is prevented from being inserted rotated by 180 °. The receiving part 2 has on the surface 11 facing the reflector back in the longitudinal direction of a groove 12 in which a prestressed with the spring wire 13 connected to the reflector 7 presses the receiving part 2 against the reflector 7.

On the surface directed into the interior of the reflector, the receiving part 2 has two symmetrically arranged rectangular depressions 14. In both recesses 14, the right-angled contact plates 3 and 4 are inserted, the legs 15 of which rest on the base of the recesses 14 and are fastened by means of a rivet 16 through a bore running through the legs 15 and the receiving part 2. The legs 15 protrude from recesses in the receiving part and are formed at their end as a flat connector 17.

The halogen incandescent lamp 6 which can be inserted into the lamp holder 1 has two laterally projecting contact flanges 20 and 21 at the base 18 of the incandescent lamp bulb 19. To fix the light bulb 6 in the lamp holder 1, the contact flange 20 has a bore 22 and the contact flange 21 has a rectangular recess 23 on the outer edge running parallel to the light bulb axis.

The legs 24 and 25 of the contact plates 3 and 4 protruding into the interior of the reflector and lying in one plane form the contact surface as a three-point support for the contact flanges 20 and 21 between two elevations 26 pressed into the contact plate 3 and one into the contact plate 4. Between the two elevations 26 of the contact plate 3 protrudes a riveted pin 27 which tapers at its free end. The contact plate 4 has an angled arm 28 on the side facing the contact plate 3 at the height of the pin 27. When the incandescent lamp 6 is inserted, the pin 27 and the angled arm 28 engage in the bore 22 or the recess 23 of the contact flanges 20 or 21.

Die federnde Öse 29 drückt bei eingesetzter Glühlampe 6 mit ihrer Stirnfläche 31 gegen den an der Erhebung 26 anliegenden Kontaktflansch 21.The contact plate 4 has on the leg 25 by bending its free end an eyelet 29, the free end of which forms a gap 30 above the one elevation 26 of the contact plate 4, the width of which corresponds to the material thickness of the contact flanges 20 and 21 of the incandescent lamp 6. The end face 31 of the eyelet 29 has a rounded portion on the edge directed towards the center of the incandescent lamp holder, which enables the contact flange 21 to be inserted easily and quickly into the gap 30. When the incandescent lamp 6 is inserted, the resilient eyelet 29 presses with its end face 31 against the contact flange 21 resting on the elevation 26.

In the other contact plate 3, the right-angled end 33 of the arm 5 is arranged in the recess 14 of the receiving part 2 between its leg 15 and the receiving part 2 and is also fixed by the rivet 16 passing through the contact plate 3 and the receiving part 2. The resilient arm 5 made of strip material stands with its wide surfaces 37 at right angles to the contact surface of the contact flanges 20 and 21 of the incandescent lamp 6 formed by the contact plates. The arm 5 has two angled tongues 34 and 35 directed towards the contact surface of the contact flanges 20 and 21 . When the incandescent lamp 6 is inserted, the tongue 34 bears against the contact flange 20 in the region of the free end of the leg 29, the free end of which is rolled away from the contact flange 20, while the tongue 35 in the region of the pin 27 on the contact plate 3 on the contact surface of the contact flange 20 lies opposite side and protrudes from the contact plate 3 at an acute angle. The free end of the arm 5 is slightly angled towards the outside of the lamp holder 1 and serves as a handle 36 for bending the arm 5 back so that the light bulb 6 can be inserted or removed.

The incandescent lamp 6 can be inserted easily and quickly into such an incandescent lamp holder 1. By bending back the resiliently adjustable arm 5, the contact flange 21 of the incandescent lamp 6 can be inserted into the gap 30 formed by the contact plate 4 such that the arm 28 angled from the contact plate 4 engages in the recess 23 of the contact flange 21 and the pin 27 on the other contact plate 3 engages in the bore 22 of the contact flange 20. After releasing the resilient arm 5, its two tongues 34 and 35 encompass the contact flange 3 and the corresponding contact plate 20. Since both tongues 34 and 35 form an acute angle to one another, there is a wedge effect on the contact flange 20 and the corresponding contact plate 3, whereby the contact flange 20 is repeatedly pressed firmly against the contact plate 3, even after the bulb 6 has been changed several times.

Claims (6)

1. Halogen lamp socket (1) especially for vehicle headlights, whose incandescent lamp (6) comprises at the foot of the gas bulb (19) two laterally projecting contact flanges (20, 21) extending in one plane and forming supporting or abutment surfaces with which they come to abut on two contact plates (3, 4) which are insulated from one another and which each have a projection (27, 28) engaging in the contact flanges for securing the lamp (6) and form, at one end, connecting means (17) of tab type, characterised in that the free end of the first contact plate (4) is bent in eyelet form towards the plane middle portion of this contact plate and forms there a gap (30) the width of which is so adapted to the material thickness of the contact flanges (20, 21 ) of the lamp (6) that a first contact flange (21) inserted into the gap (30) is held elastically by the eyelet (30), and that on the second contact plate (3) an arm (5) which is adapted to be bent out elastically in the plane of the contact flanges (20, 21) and which comprises at least one tongue (34) angled over into the plane of the contact flanges (20, 21 ) is so constructed that this arm is to be bent outwardly for insertion of the lamp (6), and, after its return from this position, acts with its tongue (34) to press on to the second contact plate (3) the second contact flange (20) of the lamp (6), which lamp is now introduced with its first contact flange (21 ) into the gap (30) at the first contact plate (4).
2. Lamp socket according to claim 1, characterised in that the elastically outwardly bendable arm (5) has a further angled-over tongue (35) which abuts on the second contact plate (3) at the side which is situated opposite the abutment surface of the second contact flange (20) of the lamp (6).
3. Lamp socket according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the tongue (34) of the elastic arm (5), abutting on the second contact flange (20) of the lamp (6) under preload, comprises at the free end a rounded region obtained by bending-round.
4. Lamp socket according to one of claims 2 or 3, characterised in that the further tongue (35), abutting on the second contact plate (3), forms an acute angle with the contact plate (3).
5. Lamp socket according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the first contact plate (4) at the end face (31 ) of the formed-on eyelet (29) is rounded or bevelled towards the middle of the lamp socket (1).
6. Lamp socket according to one of the aforesaid claims, characterised in that the free end of the elastically outwardly bendable arm (5) is slightly bent over in the adjusting direction to the outer side of the lamp socket (1).
