Claims (9)

1. A clamp-vice adapted to be fixed to a plate (2) of a table or bench in proximity to an edge of said plate, of the type comprising a frame (1), a yoke (8) pivotally connected to said frame (1) by one of its ends and carrying at its opposite end a clamping screw (10) provided with a jaw (13), said frame (1) being fixed to a sole plate (3), characterised in that the sole plate is slidably mounted in a rail (4) fixed under said plate (2), and it further comprises means (14, 15, 17) for maintaining said yoke (8) in given angular positions relative to the plate (2).

A clamp-vice according to claim 1, characterised in that said maitaining means comprise a projection prvided on the yoke (8) in proximity to its pivotal mounting on the frame (1), grooves (15) for receiving said projection (14) formed in given angular positions in one of the flanges (5) of the yoke (8), and a spring (17) for applying said yoke against the flange (5) provided with said grooves, said spring being mounted in an aperture (6) for mounting the pivot pin (7) of said yoke in said flange (5) opposed to that provided with said grooves.
3. A clamp-vice according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that said rail (4) in which said sole plate (3) of the frame is slidably mounted has a U-section having inwardly extending edge portions.
4. A clamp-vice according to any one of the claims 1 to 3, characterised in that said rail (4) is rectilinear.
5. A clamp-vice according to any one of the claims 1 to 4, characterised in that said rail is at least partly curved and the sole plate (3) of said frame has a shape adapted to permit a passage of the sole plate in the curved parts of said rail (4).

A clamp-vice according to claim 1, characterised in that said maintaining means comprise an aperture (35) formed in the yoke (29, 30, 34) in proximity to its pivotal mounting on the frame (20), indexing orifices (38) evenly spaced apart on the periphery of the flanges (25) of the frame (20), a pin (36) for angularly immobilizing the yoke engaged in the aperture (35) of the yoke and in the indexing orifices (38) corresponding to a given angular position, resiliently yieldable means (39) being provided for maintaining said pin in position.
7. A clamp-vice according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said yoke of adjustable length includes a swingable support (28) pivotally mounted on the frame (20), a rod (29) carrying at one of its ends (30) which is bent at a right angle a jaw unit (31) and is fixed in said support by adjustable immobilizing means (41,42).

A clamp-vice according to any one of the claims 1 to 7, characterised in that said yoke of adjustable length includes a bent rod (55) having a part (56) bent at a right angle and pivotally mounted on the frame of the clamp-vice and a support (59) for a jaw unit (58) fixed on said rod (55) by adjustable immobilizing means (61).

A clamp-vice according to any one of the claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the flanges (25) of the frame (20) are connected to the sole plate (22) by a portion (51) of polygonal shape and the rail (23) has a portion (52) corresponding to the change in orientation of the frame (20) in which portion the formed-over edge portions of the rail include notches (53) in which are placed resiliently yieldable means (54) for permitting the rotation of the portion (51) of the frame (20) while maintaining it in a chosen angular position.
