Abstract

L'invention a pour but l'obtention de varistances (résis­ tances en matériau céramique à caractéristique non linéaire du courant en fonction de la tension) à faible tension de seuil, de l'ordre de 5 à 10 volts.
A cet effet, on utilise le fait que la tension de seuil (point de départ d'une augmentation exponentielle de la valeur ohmi­ que) dépend des barrières de potentiels intergranulaires des cristallites situés dans la céramique entre les deux électrodes. On augmente donc le diamètre des grains en se bornant à une vingtaine de microns, et l'on rapproche les électrodes jusqu'à 50 microns en réalisant des métallisations interdigitées (11, 12) déposées sur une plaquette (1) en matériau à base de ZnO fritté de à façon présenter la granulométrie désirée.
