Definitions
- the present invention relates to a vortex pump for fluid in liquid form.
- a vortex pump usually comprises in a pump body two superimposed or adjacent chambers, separated by a diaphragm with central opening, one serving as an inlet chamber for the liquid fluid and the other, as a discharge chamber for this fluid.
- a turbine is mounted, adjacent to the bottom of this delivery chamber. During its rotation, the turbine creates, in the mass of liquid coming from the inlet chamber through the central opening of the diaphragm, a vortex movement which tends to force this mass of liquid to circulate in an outlet pipe arranged in communication tangentially with this delivery chamber.
- a pump of this type has the advantage of being less subject than a centrifugal pump, to blockage or damage caused by more or less bulky solid elements possibly conveyed by this mass of liquid to be evacuated.
- One of the vortex pumps is described in the publication FR-A-1 521 265.
- This pump comprises a pump housing and a motor housing which are assembled to form two adjacent chambers. These two chambers separated from each other by a wall of this pump casing are placed in communication with one another through an orifice formed in this wall.
- One of these chambers constitutes the turbine compartment connected to an outlet pipe, and the other forms a suction chamber connected to an inlet pipe.
- known vortex pumps of this type often do not perform well.
- the present invention provides an improvement to these vortex pumps and makes it possible to produce a pump having excellent efficiency, and easy and economical manufacture.
- a vortex motor pump for liquid fluid comprises a diaphragm with central opening dividing the pump body into two adjacent compartments, to form an inlet chamber provided with a liquid inlet pipe, and a chamber outlet fitted with a turbine at the bottom, and a tangential liquid outlet pipe, at the level of the space separating these turbine and diaphragm.
- This diaphragm comprises in particular on its face looking at the turbine, a bar or projecting radial guiding surface, in alignment with the wall on the downstream side, of the bore of the liquid outlet pipe, relative to the direction of rotation of the turbine.
- the part located downstream of this bar relative to the direction of movement of the general flow of the fluid is filled so as to extend the projecting end of this bar and to gradually bring the level of the latter towards the level of the surface of this diaphragm.
- the pump 1 is provided with a pump body 3 divided into two superimposed compartments 4 and 5 by a diaphragm 6 with opening central 7.
- the compartment 4 provided with a liquid inlet pipe 8 is called the inlet chamber
- the compartment 5 provided with a tangential liquid outlet pipe 9 is called the inlet chamber repression.
- a turbine 11 is mounted in the pump 1, adjacent to the bottom of the discharge chamber 5.
- the turbine 11 driven in its rotation by the electric motor 2, creates a vortex movement in the mass of liquid coming from the intake chamber 4 through the central opening 7 of the diaphragm 6.
- a swirling liquid ring is thus formed between the turbine 11 and the diaphragm 6. In its movement, this liquid ring tends to freely escape through the outlet pipe 9 which is just at the level of the space separating these turbine 11 and diaphragm 6.
- an improvement in the efficiency of this motor-driven pump is obtained by a reduction in the freedom of movement left to this ring of liquid in vortex, in other words an increase in the flow rate of liquid discharged by the pump is achieved by appropriate guidance of this liquid ring towards the outlet pipe 9.
- the diaphragm 6 of the latter is provided on its face looking at the turbine 11 which rotates in the direction of the arrow 13 (FIG. 4), with a surface or radial guide bar 12 located in alignment with the wall on the downstream side 14 of the bore of the liquid outlet pipe 9, the wall on the upstream side of this pipe 9 relative to the direction of rotation of the arrow 13 , being designated in 15.
- the part 16 of the diaphragm 6 which is located downstream of this projecting radial bar 12 in relation to the direction of the arrow 13, in other words in the direction of movement of the general flow of fluid, is filled so as to extend circularly the projecting end of this radial bar 12 and gradually bring the level of the latter towards the level of the surface of the diaphragm ( Figure 3).
- the part 16 thus produced makes it possible to minimize the pressure drops in the movement of the ring of liquid in a vortex and thereby to further improve the efficiency of the pump 1.
- the projecting radial bar 12 and the filled part 16 of the diaphragm 6 are obtained by a permanent deformation of the body of this diaphragm 6.
- This deformation has a rib on one face of this diaphragm protruding and on the other side, a corresponding depression.
- the diaphragm 6 can be produced either according to the stamping technique or according to the molding process.

Description
- - la figure 1 représente une vue schématique, en coupe partielle, d'une motopompe à tourbillon, réalisée selon l'invention;
- - la figure 2 représente une vue de la première face du diaphragme de la motopompe de la figure 1, face regardant la turbine de celle-ci;
