Es hat sich jedoch gezeigt, daß bei den bekannten Vorrichtungen Probleme mit der Papierführung auftreten können. Wird nämlich ein Drucker sowohl zum Bedrucken von Endlospapier als auch zum Bedrucken von Einzelformularen eingesetzt, so muß auch die Papierführung diesen verschiedenen Betriebsfällen Rechnung tragen. Praktisch bedeutet das, daß die Papierführung je nach Betriebsart in zwei Stellungen umsteuerbar sein muß, was einen zusätzlichen Steuermechanismus erfordert. Dabei muß die Papierführung, die in diesen Fällen eine Art Weiche darstellt, einen Spalt aufweisen, durch den das Schneidemesser oder das Schneiderad an das Papier herangeführt werden kann. Eine solche spaltförmige Öffnung erschwert das Einführen von Einzelformularen, das Einlegen von Endlospapier sowie den Papiertransport.Such devices should work safely without the help of an operator.
