Definitions
- the invention relates to a wooden structural element consisting of a round timber side section milled in a substantially trapezoidal cross-section, which is symmetrically delimited by a base area, an approximately parallel top surface and two oblique side surfaces running approximately according to the annual rings. Furthermore, the invention relates to a sawn timber composed of such wooden construction elements.
- strongly inclined side surfaces have the disadvantage that they form an acute-angled edge with the base of the trapezoidal cross section, which is easily damaged during their manufacture and during subsequent intermediate treatment.
- This is particularly disadvantageous in the case of automatic or semi-automatic processing, because if the damage is recognized too late or if it occurs at an advanced stage of processing, the process has to be interrupted or an end product composed of many side sections becomes a waste.
- a largely automatic process is only economically feasible, therefore, when the page profiling wood used is damage gungsunem p insensitive. Since this goal has not yet been achieved, it has been achieved, although the Ver Working the Rundholz-sammlungnabscnitte with a strongly inclined side surface to composite lumber is known per se, so far preferred to find other uses.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a profile for round wood side sections with steeply sloping side surfaces, which permits a versatile and useful utilization.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the small sub-areas adjoining the so-called base area, ie the wider of the two parallel areas of the trapezoidal cross-section Cut off the sharp edge at risk of damage to the side surfaces.
- the component according to the invention is insensitive to damage. This effect is intensified by the aforementioned obtuse-angled connection of these small sub-areas to the base area, because an obtuse-angled cross section is even more resistant than a right-angled one. It could be that with such an obtuse-angled transition from the base surface to the adjacent narrow partial surfaces of the side surface, the edge at the transition from these narrow partial surfaces to the inclined partial surface is at greater risk.
- the profiling according to the invention also has great advantages when using the components according to the invention for producing composite sawn timber. If the components are put together in an automatic gluing press, the small pairs of partial areas can absorb the gluing forces which run in the plane of the lumber board being formed, without the inclined surface being able to drive the components to be joined apart in the opposite direction to the pressing direction.
- an advantage of the invention is to be seen in the fact that the lumber produced therefrom is of particularly high quality because, on the one hand, particularly solid, fine-grained wood can be found in the side sections and, on the other hand, because the components in the assembled lumber adjoin one another in the opposite direction of the Have annual rings and thereby block each other.
- the sawn timber thus obtained has high strength and is free from distortion. Because of these good properties, German building authorities have given it greater resilience than normal, unassembled lumber when used as construction timber.
- At least one of the two side sections 3 is profiled as is emphasized in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the other side section 4 can also be profiled in this way.
- the cross section of the component 6 is delimited by a base surface 7, a top surface 8 and two oppositely sloping side surfaces, which are composed of an inclined, flat partial surface 9, which forms by far the largest part of the side surface, and a pair of transverse to the surfaces 7 , 8 and 9 extending, smaller partial areas 1 0 , 11, which enclose the inclined surface 9 between them.
- the two side surfaces of each component 6 are rotationally symmetrical to one another, so that they fit together exactly in a composition according to FIG. 3 or 4.
- the two inclined partial surfaces 9 of each side section run at opposite angles and the narrow partial surfaces 10, 11 are of equal length and (on each of the two side surfaces) are parallel to one another.
- the partial areas 0 1 can, 11 are perpendicular to the surfaces 7, 8. 2, they are inclined in opposite directions to the surface 9.
- Fig. 3 shows a single layer composition
- Fig. 4 illustrates a multi-layer sawn timber. This also shows that the next adjacent inclined connecting surfaces 9 are not in alignment with one another but are offset by an amount 12 (measured transversely to their plane).
- FIG. 5 illustrates the use of the component according to the invention for paneling purposes.
- 13 shows a carrier strip which can be fastened to the wall surface to be paneled using known means, while one recognizes in cross section a plurality of components according to the invention which are fastened to the carrier strip 13 with the top surface 8, while the base surface 7 is facing the viewer.
- the side parts in the area of the inclined partial surface 9 project laterally like wings beyond the fastening area and have a sound-absorbing effect due to the inclusion of the space 14, which is accessible through the gap 15, and through their own ability to vibrate.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a wooden structural element consisting of a round timber side section milled in a substantially trapezoidal cross-section, which is symmetrically delimited by a base area, an approximately parallel top surface and two oblique side surfaces running approximately according to the annual rings. Furthermore, the invention relates to a sawn timber composed of such wooden construction elements.
It is known (DE-OS 24 o4 898, Fig. 7-9) that arise in the 'division of a log, to one very important part of round limited side sections in cross-section trapezoidal (DE-OS 21 59 337) to mill and connect them along their oblique side surfaces, the course of which corresponds approximately to that of the annual rings. However, this idea could not prevail because the glue pressure on the strongly inclined side surfaces leads to undesirable displacements. This can be avoided (DE-OS 27 2o 762) by providing a transversely extending step in the inclined side surfaces, the forehead of which is directed towards the further protruding end of the side surface. However, it is difficult to mount such a step in very sloping side surfaces. - Furthermore, strongly inclined side surfaces have the disadvantage that they form an acute-angled edge with the base of the trapezoidal cross section, which is easily damaged during their manufacture and during subsequent intermediate treatment. - This is particularly disadvantageous in the case of automatic or semi-automatic processing, because if the damage is recognized too late or if it occurs at an advanced stage of processing, the process has to be interrupted or an end product composed of many side sections becomes a waste. A largely automatic process is only economically feasible, therefore, when the page profiling wood used is damage gungsunem p insensitive. Since this goal has not yet been achieved, it has been achieved, although the Ver Working the Rundholz-Seitenabscnitte with a strongly inclined side surface to composite lumber is known per se, so far preferred to find other uses. In particular, the processing of the side sections into paneling wood promises considerable economic advantages, which can even exceed those when processing into composite lumber. However, the need for paneling wood is not nearly as great as the amount of side sections. In addition, not all side sections are of the quality required for paneling wood.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a profile for round wood side sections with steeply sloping side surfaces, which permits a versatile and useful utilization.
The solution according to the invention consists in that the essentially sloping side surfaces of the wooden component are composed of a sloping partial surface and a pair of the sloping partial surface enclosing and adjoining the base surface or top surface of the trapezoidal cross section, transverse to and transverse to the sloping partial surface Subareas parallel to one another and of equal length. The pair of partial surfaces preferably encloses an obtuse angle with the base or top surface of the profile.
The component according to the invention can be used in two ways, namely on the one hand as paneling wood and on the other hand for the production of composite sawn timber. All side sections are profiled in the same way. This allows the logs to be processed in automatic processing lines without having to take into account the later use of the side sections. The resulting, fully profiled side sections, which are referred to in the present context as components, can then be used for one or the other purpose as required. In general, you will use as much paneling as possible, for example in a factory for the manufacture of prefabricated houses. Those components which are not suitable for high or exceeding the required amount of T äfelungsholzes are assembled into lumber. A major advantage of the invention is thus that a largely automatic processing of the log is made possible because no selection of use needs to be made before profiling the side sections.
Another advantage of the invention is that the small sub-areas adjoining the so-called base area, ie the wider of the two parallel areas of the trapezoidal cross-section Cut off the sharp edge at risk of damage to the side surfaces. As a result, the component according to the invention is insensitive to damage. However, this only plays a subordinate role when using the components as paneling wood, because damage to the last-mentioned edge is less noticeable, because it lies further back than the edge on the base surface of the profile facing the viewer. - With such an inclination of the pair of partial surfaces, the angle between the narrow top surface and the adjacent pair of partial surfaces becomes more acute and therefore more sensitive to damage; however, this also does not matter because this edge remains invisible when using the components as paneling wood. On the contrary, the inclination of the pair of partial surfaces adjacent to the top surface has the advantage that it can be used as an undercut for fastening to the wall to be paneled.
The profiling according to the invention also has great advantages when using the components according to the invention for producing composite sawn timber. If the components are put together in an automatic gluing press, the small pairs of partial areas can absorb the gluing forces which run in the plane of the lumber board being formed, without the inclined surface being able to drive the components to be joined apart in the opposite direction to the pressing direction.
Finally, an advantage of the invention is to be seen in the fact that the lumber produced therefrom is of particularly high quality because, on the one hand, particularly solid, fine-grained wood can be found in the side sections and, on the other hand, because the components in the assembled lumber adjoin one another in the opposite direction of the Have annual rings and thereby block each other. The sawn timber thus obtained has high strength and is free from distortion. Because of these good properties, German building authorities have given it greater resilience than normal, unassembled lumber when used as construction timber.

Round timber, which can be small timber with a diameter of, for example, 10-220 cm, is divided according to FIG. 1 by the
According to the invention, at least one of the two side sections 3 is profiled as is emphasized in FIGS. 1 and 2. The other side section 4 can also be profiled in this way. However, it is also conceivable and indicated in FIG. 1 by corresponding highlighting that the other side section 4 is profiled and used in a different way.
The side section 3 is milled in such a way that the through the representation of the annual rings in Fig. 1st highlighted, substantially trapezoidal cross section of the
The cross section of the
It can be seen when looking at the Fig. 3 and 4, that when assembling the
While Fig. 3 shows a single layer composition, Fig. 4 illustrates a multi-layer sawn timber. This also shows that the next adjacent inclined connecting
13 shows a carrier strip which can be fastened to the wall surface to be paneled using known means, while one recognizes in cross section a plurality of components according to the invention which are fastened to the
While round wood side cuts are generally considered inferior, the profiling according to the invention leads to two possible uses with a particularly high-quality result. Even weak and weakest wood can be processed with little loss and high quality.
