Description

The invention relates to a terminal for electrical devices with a particularly low design, the clamping screw is held in a clamping base and which has a clamp to hold against the bearing surface on the clamping base, which together form at least one terminal space for conductors to be connected, the clamp around the The clamping screw is held so that it can be tilted so that a clamp arm can be supported on the clamping base on the side of the clamping screw opposite the clamping position.

In a known terminal of this type (CH-A-581 913), the terminal locations are essentially formed by two flat surfaces which are inclined toward one another in a roof shape. The conductors to be connected can slide inwards, even against the clamping screw. Since the distance to the clamping screw is not guaranteed, the clamping forces can be distributed so unevenly that electrical safety is not guaranteed. This clamp is still surmounted by the head of the clamping screw above its roof-shaped clamping piece, so that it also takes up a relatively large amount of space.

Electrical installation devices such as residual current circuit breakers, miniature circuit breakers and fuse disconnectors are increasingly being designed to be very low so that they can also be housed in distribution boxes in thin walls. The terminals for the conductors to be connected then require a lot of height in the usual design. Connecting two conductors whose diameters differ greatly is particularly problematic.

The structure of so-called flat clamps is shown, for example, according to DIN 4100, February 1975. Two conductors with different diameters can only be connected if the diameters are in one of the specified ranges, the scope of which is often unsatisfactorily narrow. The clamping screw protrudes above the conductor to be connected, so that the clamp still requires a lot of height.

The invention has for its object to develop a terminal that is particularly low, the individual conductors as well as conductors with different diameters can be safely connected and which is easy to use.

The solution to the problem described is that the clamping location is designed so far away from the clamping screw that a distance of about half the diameter of this conductor remains for the largest connectable conductor, and that the clamping screw is designed to be retractable with its head in the clamp is. It is therefore essential that the clamping location is so far away from the clamping screw that there is a safe distance for the largest connectable conductor in order to distribute the clamping forces favorably. The clamp around the clamping screw is held so that it can be tilted so far that a clamp arm can be supported on the clamping base on the side of the clamping screw opposite the clamping position. The low structure is promoted by a clamping screw, which is designed to be retractable with its head in the clamp.

By means of the connecting clamp according to the invention, the head of the clamping screw engages almost unchanged at the point of application even when the clamp is inclined with respect to the clamping base. In the case of a clamp with clamp arms of the same length, the screw head engages approximately in the middle in all operating positions. The clamping forces are therefore well preserved even with conductors to be connected with different diameters, or are well distributed with two conductors to be connected.

In a known connecting terminal with a round clamping plate (US-A-3 993 397; in particular Fig. 3), which is serrated on the circumference and engages with these teeth in rib-shaped counter-positions, knob structures are formed on the underside of the clamping plate in order to also with a round clamping plate to provide straight ladder hold during assembly. Certain terminal locations are not provided, so that certain distances are understandably missing.

The terminal is particularly secured against loosening under various operating conditions if the clamp is designed as an elastic molded part. It is advantageous that two clamping locations are formed by cranking two opposite edges of the clamp and that between these clamping locations a passage for the clamping screw is formed in a trough, the inclination of which in the imaginary axis cross in the direction of the cranked edges approximately the inclination of the countersunk head Head of the clamping screw corresponds and that the inclination in the direction perpendicular to the cranked edges is flatter than the inclination of the countersunk head. Such a clamp, especially if it is designed as a molded part, has elastic clamp arms, the clamp being stiffened at the terminal location for the conductors to be connected and providing lateral support for the conductors.

The connection terminal is particularly elastic and at the same time stable with regard to the conductor to be connected if the terminal locations are formed by convex guide troughs formed in the clamp between their upper trough edge and the bent edge, the apex of which is closer to the edge than the imaginary one Axis cross of the passage for the clamping screw.

Material is saved and guidance is achieved in an installation device if the clamp is essentially rectangular in its layout, its long side runs between the cranked sides and if it forms guide lugs.

A clamp 3 is used to hold against the bearing surface of the clamping base 2. In the exemplary embodiment, two clamping locations lie between the clamp 3 and the clamping base 2. A conductor 4, which for example has a cross section of 16 mm 2 , is held in the left terminal position. This clamping location is so far away from the clamping screw 1 that a distance 5 of approximately half the diameter of this conductor remains for the largest connectable conductor 4. The clamp 3 is held so that it can tilt about the clamping screw 1 so that a clamp arm can be supported on the clamping base 1 on the clamping base 2 on the opposite side of the clamping screw 1, for example for the conductor 4. The clamping screw 1 is designed with its head in the clamp 3, for example as shown in the illustration, retractable.

Man vergleiche Fig. 3.In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, two clamping locations are formed by cranking two opposite edges 8 of the clamp 3. Between these clamping locations, a passage 9 for the clamping screw 1 is formed in a trough 10, the inclination of which in the imaginary axis cross 11, according to FIG. The inclination in the direction 14 perpendicular to the cranked edges 8 is flatter than the inclination of the countersunk head 13. Compare FIG. 3.

The clamp according to FIG. 2 for the terminal blocks of the connection terminal is essentially rectangular in its layout, with its long side running between the cranked sides 8. It has guide lugs 15 for installation in an installation device. The introduction of conductors to be connected can be facilitated by bevels 16 on the end face.

The front view of the clamp according to FIG. 2 is shown in FIG. 3. The clamping locations are formed by convex guide grooves 18 formed in the clamp between their upper trough edge 17 and the cranked edge 8, the apex 19 of which lies closer to the edge 8 than to the imaginary axis cross 11, according to FIG. 2, of the passage 9 for the clamping screw.

5 shows how a conductor 4 with the largest diameter - for example a cross section of 16 mm 2 - and a conductor 7 with a small diameter - for example a cross section of 4 mm 2 - can be clamped. It is essential that the clamp 3 rests on the countersunk head 13 of the clamping screw 1 both in the operating mode according to FIG. 1 and in that according to FIGS. 4 or 5 in the region of the center line 20, the imaginary axis of the clamping screw 1. In order to allow the clamp 3 to tilt freely up to the stop of the trough edge on the countersunk head 13, it is understandable that there is sufficient play between the clamping screw 1 and the penetration 9 for the clamping screw 1.

The connecting terminal in the embodiment according to FIG. 6 has a clamping base with flanks 21 pulled down to the side. 6 shows some conductors of different diameters. The use in a low and at the same time narrow installation device 30 is further illustrated in FIG. 7. Here, the installation device 30 is shown broken off.
