Description

The invention relates to a disposable reversible knife made of thin sheet metal for wood-cutting machines, which is provided with integrated scoring and with bends symmetrical to the turning axis in the interior of the knife.

Such a knife is e.g. according to DE-OS 27 03 739 known. It has recesses and bends in its interior, which are used to fix the knife in a holder. Although the bends have a limited effect on their respective effective range, stiffening in the longitudinal direction of the knife, the knife has the disadvantage that its cutting edges are unstable in the direction of the cutting stress and tend to flutter in a holder. This knife also has beads in the cutting area that form the scratches. However, the scratches interrupt the cutting edges of the knife, weaken it in the direction of the stresses of the cutting forces and, because of the double sheet thickness of the knife sheet, produce a relatively large amount of undesirable fine material at the expense of the amount of chips related to the knife length.

The knife known from DE-AS 22 14 434 also has a lack of insufficient rigidity, since its cutting edge is interrupted by notches or bends for scoring and is therefore weakened in the direction of the cutting forces. With the necessary free board of its cutting edge and the given clamping accuracy in a cutting machine, it tends to flutter, which results in poor chip quality and leads to premature wear of the cutting edge. The integrated scribers of this knife also shorten the effective cutting edge length, so that the undesirable proportion of fine material is increased. In addition, since the U-shaped or V-shaped scoring noses cannot be attached to the knife exactly in the direction of the cutting forces, there is an increased energy requirement for the cutting machine, and moreover, due to the attachment of the scoring device - the scoring noses are removed after sharpening the free area of the cutting edge - not be avoided that the forming stresses are released after hardening of the knife, whereby the cutting edge rejects, which brings about a further deterioration in the chip quality, which is indicated by a flatter Gaussian distribution curve over the chip thickness.

The disadvantages of a knife according to DE-OS 27 08 739 or DE-AS 22 14 434 cannot be avoided by bending a knife, as is shown in a different context in US Pat. No. 1,520,068, the a flat knife is clamped between hollow surfaces and clamped by means of a screw in such a way that an adjustment of the knife is possible before clamping in the pretensioned state. Especially with a relatively thin turning knife, the inherent rigidity is not ensured because there is a risk that the knife will slip due to the effect of the centrifugal forces even with a slight loosening of the holder despite the clamping, because the frictional connection between the knife and the contact surfaces cannot be maintained.

In contrast, according to DE-OS 24 05 503, a knife is prevented from slipping in a holder by any suitable shape; however, the shapes shown do not influence the inherent rigidity of the knife in the direction of the cutting forces. This knife also tends to flutter.

Furthermore, from DE-OS 24 05 465 a knife is known which is provided in its interior with bends transverse to the longitudinal axis of the knife, which serve as locking means in a holder and stiffen the knife along the bends in its interior, but it in Leave the direction of stress on the cutting forces in the cutting edge area, but especially unstable within the cutting edge sections between the bends. This knife also tends to flutter.

The invention has for its object to design a disposable reversible knife of the type mentioned in such a way that the cutting edge is stiffened in the direction of loading of the cutting forces and fluttering of the knife in a holder of the knife shaft of a wood-cutting machine is avoided.

To solve this problem, it is proposed that the knife be curved in the shape of a shell, that the bends in planes parallel to the direction of the cutting forces the knife-edge run and are bent and deformed in these planes, arched axes, and that the bends are provided with scribing tips.

  • - die durchgehenden, von Ritzern nicht geschwächten, nicht unterbrochenen Schneidkanten bringen die volle Schnittleistung eines Vollschneidenmessers;
  • - die Dicke der Ritzerspitzen ist höchstens gleich der Messerblechdicke, gewährleistet die Minimierung des Feingutanteils des zerspanten Holzes und bewirkt die Verringerung der erforderlichen Antriebsenergie für die Holzzerspanungsmaschine;
  • - die bis auf den Scharfschliff anwendbaren spanlosen Fertigungsverfahren gewährleisten eine kostengünstige Herstellung des Messers;
Such a knife has the advantage that it can be made from a relatively thin sheet of metal, which contributes to material savings and thus to manufacturing cost savings, because it is characterized by a high degree of inherent rigidity in the direction of application of the cutting forces caused by the doubled curvature of the bends around such Axes are reached that lie in the plane of the cutting force; the deformations around arched axes advantageously bring about a mutual stiffening of the bends formed with scoring and the cutting edges, thereby avoiding the fluttering of the knife in a holder. This reversible knife also has the following advantages:
  • - The continuous cutting edges, not weakened by scratches, not interrupted bring the full cutting performance of a full cutting knife;
  • - The thickness of the scoring tips is at most equal to the thickness of the knife plate, ensures the minimization of the proportion of fines in the machined wood and reduces the drive energy required for the wood-cutting machine;
  • - The non-cutting manufacturing processes that can be used for sharpening ensure inexpensive manufacture of the knife;
  • - The sharpening costs are minimized due to the selectable thin knife plate thickness.

  • Figur 1 ein Einweg-Wendemesser entlang Schnitt A-A gemäß Figur 2 in Seitenansicht,
Preferred embodiments according to the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
  • FIG. 1 shows a disposable reversible knife along section AA according to FIG. 2 in side view,
  • FIG. 2 shows the top view of a section of the disposable reversible knife,
  • FIG. 3 shows the disposable reversible knife according to FIG. 1 in a side view, but with a sheet cross-section in which the sheet thickness decreases towards the cutting area,
  • 4 shows a side view of how the disposable reversible knife can be installed in a knife holder, and
  • 5 shows the top view according to FIG. 4.

The turning knife 1 is curved in the shape of a shell over the sharpening plane 12 and has bends 2 which are symmetrical to the turning axis and provided with scoring tips 13 and which are bent and deformed about the curved axes 3. The cutting edges 4, which are also symmetrical about the turning axis, are formed by the convex surface 6 and the ground surfaces in the sharpening plane 12. In contrast to the usual flat knife, the sharpening surface of this reversible knife is the chip discharge surface.

The wood to be cut is brought towards the convex surface 6 towards the cutting edges 4 at the required clearance angle in such a way that the respective bends 2 provided with the scribers 13 can penetrate into the wood surface. Since the bends 2 in the stiffening planes, in which the arched axes 3 lie, have the direction perpendicular to the wood fiber, which does not run perpendicular to the cutting edge 4 in the case of bevel cut knife shafts with hyperboloidal cutter heads, not only the proportion of fines is reduced to a minimum, but also that Drive energy requirement reduced.

The reversible knife is advantageously clamped in the knife holder 10 by means of a clamping plate 11 in that the edges 7 of the bends 2 are supported in slots 9 against stop faces 8, the knife board in the holder 10 being exactly determined. This means that additional aids such as guide grooves or mounting holes can be dispensed with.

In addition, if the inherent rigidity of the reversible knife is used to save additional material and thus material costs, by choosing a knife sheet cross-section that corresponds to a curved support of the same strength. The turning knife variant shown in FIG. 3 and tapering towards the cutting area in the knife plate thickness shows, for example, a knife plate cross section in which the design as a curved carrier of the same strength is approximated by the choice of the same radii for the boundary surfaces 5 and 6.
