The two toggle levers 20 and 21 with the crossbeams 18 thus, since they can be pivoted about the pivot points 23 and 29 on the press jaws or 24 and 25 on the crossbeam, form a lateral additional pressing device similar to a toggle lever press, i.e. when the pressing jaws 2 and 3 move against each other, the toggle levers 20 and 21 press the crossbar 18 with their cutting edge 19 inwards towards the press center 32 or against the filter frame 4. So that this movement inevitably takes place when moving together, the cam 27 becomes eccentric on one a tensile force 31 is applied to the further fulcrum or articulation point 30 located at the cam fulcrum 28 and attempts to rotate the cam in the direction of the press center 32 — counterclockwise in the embodiment shown. This force 31 is generated by the tension spring element 33 articulated on the lower press jaw 2. As already mentioned, the cam 27 is mounted rotatably about its axis 28 in a recess 34 in the lower press jaw 2. The recess 34 is bounded towards the press center 32 by the run-up surface 35 which runs obliquely upwards / inwards, against which the cam 27 can be rotated until its cam surface 36 directed towards the press center 32 is in contact. At the upper end of the contact surface 35 there is also a nose 37 as a limit stop, up to which the lower toggle lever 21 can be pivoted in the direction of the press center 32.

Die Funktion der Presseinrichtung ist nun wie folgt, wobei sich dieselben Baulemente spiegelbildlich auch an der linken Seite der Presse befinden, die in den Fig. 4a bis 4f nicht dargestellt ist:

  • Fig. 4a: Der Filter 1 ist zwischen die Pressbacken 2 u. 3 beigelegt. Der hydraulische Antrieb 8 bis 14 erzeugt die Bewegung in Pfeilrichtung 39 und 40. Durch die Zugkraft 31 wird der Nocken 27 nach innen gezogen, die Kniehebel 20 und 21 sind in Richtung der Pfeile 38 gespannt.
  • Fig. 4b: Der Nocken 27 kommt mit der Nockenfläche 36 zum Anliegen an die Anlauffläche 35 und somit zum Stillstand. Auf die Quertraverse 18 werden Druckkräfte 41 und 42 ausgeübt, die dieselbe nach innen drücken.
  • Fig. 4c u.d: Die Schneidkanten 19 der Traversen 18 knicken den Rahmen 4 des Filters 1 nach innen bis die unteren Kniehebel 21 an der Nase 37 zur Anlage bzw. zum Stillstand kommen.
  • Fig. 4e: Der untere Kniehebel 21 wird dadurch wieder nach außen gedrückt. Der Nocken 27 dreht sich um den Drehpunkt 28 bis der weitere Drehpunkt 30 unterhalb diesen zu liegen kommt und die Kraft 31 die Kniehebel 20 und 21 mit der Traverse 18 wiederum nach außen zieht. Der Filter 1 wird dabei durch die Kräfte 39 und 40 kompaktiert.
  • Fig. 4f: Der Filterrahmen 4 ist eingeknickt und der Filter 1 kompaktiert, die Pressbacken 2 und 3 befinden sich in der oberen Totpunktstellung, die Traverse 18 zu den Kniehebeln 20 und 21 ist automatisch nach außen weggeklappt. Nach Zurückfahren in die Ausgangsstellung 4a kann der kompaktierte Filter nach Wegklappen der Quertraversen 18 entnommen und ein neuer eingelegt werden.

  • Fig. 4a: The filter 1 is between the press jaws 2 u. 3 enclosed. The hydraulic drive 8 to 14 generates the movement in the direction of the arrows 39 and 40. The cam 27 is pulled inwards by the tensile force 31, the toggle levers 20 and 21 are tensioned in the direction of the arrows 38.
  • Fig. 4b: The cam 27 comes with the cam surface 36 to the abutment surface 35 and thus comes to a standstill. Compression forces 41 and 42 are exerted on the crossbeam 18, which push the same inwards.
  • Fig. 4c ud: The cutting edges 19 of the traverses 18 bend the frame 4 of the filter 1 inwards until the lower toggle levers 21 come to rest on the nose 37 or come to a standstill.
  • Fig. 4e: The lower toggle lever 21 is pressed outwards again. The cam 27 rotates about the pivot point 28 until the further pivot point 30 comes to lie below it and the force 31 in turn pulls the toggle levers 20 and 21 with the cross member 18 outwards. The filter 1 is compacted by the forces 39 and 40.
  • Fig. 4f: The filter frame 4 is buckled and the filter 1 compacted, the press jaws 2 and 3 are in the top dead center position, the cross member 18 to the toggle levers 20 and 21 is automatically folded outwards. After returning to the starting position 4a, the compacted filter can be removed after the cross-members 18 have been folded away and a new one can be inserted.

Claims (6)

1. Compacting press for framed (4) contaminated air filters (1) with pistons (10, 11) acting hydraulically on the press platen (3) and a fixed upper platen and a bottom platen and jaw (2), respectively, freely moving against it, with one or two cross beams (18) in a mirror inverted arrangement being jointly hinged to both press jaws (2, 3) by means of two toggle levers (20, 21), these cross beams being jointly and automatically displaceable towards the center of the press, either vertically or transversally to the direction of pressing of the jaws (2, 3) with the help of the toggle levers similar to a toggle lever press, with the bottom toggle lever and toggle levers (21), respectively, cohinged at a cam (27) tiltable around a pivot (29), this cam being in its turn fixed in a recess (34) of the bottom press jaw (2) and pivotable around another pivot (28) and pivotable by means of a spring element (31, 33) attacking at a third hinge and pivoting point (30) respectively, in the direction of the press center (32) and press outside, respectively, around its pivoting point (28) in the jaw (2), depending on its respective position, and with the cam (27) having a cam area (26) directed towards the center of the press (32), this cam area being directed towards a beveled contact area (35) of the recess (34) and, while the cam (27) is rotated towards the center of the press (32), tiltable to contact the latter.
2. Press according to claim 1, with a lug (37) provided above the beveled contact area (35) of the recess (34) acting as a stop to the bottom toggle lever (21).
3. Press according to claim 2 with the spring hinge point (30) lying above the cam pivoting point (28) in the jaw (2) while the bottom toggle lever(s) (21) enters (enter) into contact . with the lug (37), seen in the direction of pressing, and tiltable below the cam pivoting point, (28) while the bottom press jaw (2) is further lifted by pressure applied by the bottom toggle lever (21) to the cam (27).
4. Press according to claim 1, 2 or 3 with the piston rods (8, 9) constituting the hydraulic press drive being carried rigidly in the base plate (7) together with the pistons (10, 11) whilst the related cylinder volumes (12, 13) are contained in a cylinder accommodating piece (14) freely movable upwards which, in turn, is attached to the bottom press jaw (2).
5. Press according to claim 4, with two lateral recesses (15) provided in the upper press jaws (3) in a mirror inverted configuration, with the two cylinder accommodating pieces (14) penetrating through the press jaw (3).
6. Press according to claims 4 and 5 with a plate (16) put on the cylinder accommodating piece(s) (14) forming the top end of the cylinders (12, 13) and their bottom ends (17), respectively.
