Da jedes der beiden Zugmittel über Umlenkrollen geführt wird, die einen zur Lauffläche des Verlängerungsteils senkrechten und einen dazu parallelen Abstand besitzen, ergeben sich für die dadurch gebildeten Zugmittelschleifen zwei Wirkungskomponenten, nämlich eine zur Lauffläche senkrechte und eine zu dieser parallele. Durch die Zugmittelschleifen können folglich nicht nur Kräfte, die senkrecht zur Lauffläche des Verlängerungsteils wirksam werden, vom Verlängerungsteil über die Zugmittel auf den Trägerteil übertragen werden, sondern auch zur Lauffläche parallele, quer zur Ausziehrichtung wirkende Kräfte. Da eine solche Zugmittelschleife nur im Sinne einer Schleifenvergrösserung belastet werden darf, kann durch eine Schleife nur die Abstützung des Verlängerungsteils nach einer Seite gewährleistet werden.
