Description

The invention relates to a coupling device for power-and-free drag chain conveyors according to the preamble of claim 1.

A coupling device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known (US Pat. No. 3,795,200) which has a coupling jaw which is pivotally mounted on an axis transversely to the conveying direction. However, the known coupling device does not allow the trolley in operative connection with the coupling device to travel down a slope, unless an additional restraining device prevents the trolley from automatically loosening the driving connection when driving through the slope. Because of the additional component expenditure for said restraint device, the disadvantage of the known coupling device is obvious. Another disadvantage of this solution is that the mass of the trolley and its loading must be absorbed by a single driver.

In addition, a coupling device for power-and-free drag chain conveyors (US-A-3 060 866) is known which has two coupling jaws pivotably mounted on an axis transversely to the conveying direction, but which are arranged one behind the other and at a distance from one another. This solution also has the disadvantage that the mass of the conveyor wagon and its loading must be taken up by a single driver.

The invention specified in claim 1 has for its object to provide a robust and simply constructed coupling device which has two identical, practically wear-free coupling jaws, which reduce the noise formation during coupling due to the easy-to-use shape, which partially engages the component to be carried in the coupled state include and which can absorb the load to be pulled in equal parts.

This object is achieved with the features characterizing the invention according to claim 1 and the subclaims.

Two embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing and explained below.

Es zeigt:

It shows:
  • Figure 1 shows a portion of a power-and-free drag chain conveyor with the coupling device in side view, partially in section.
  • 2a-c a coupling device as a detail in side view, front view and top view;
  • 3a-c another embodiment of the coupling device, also in side view, front view and top view.

Die Abschrägungen 10" und 11" der beiden Kupplungsbacken 10, 11 bilden zusammen eine V-förmige Rampe R, während die Ausnehmungen 12,13 zusammen eine rechteckige Tasche T bilden.1 consists essentially of the chain channel 1 hanging on carriers (not shown) and the profile running rail of a monorail 2 on which trolleys 3 designed as load hangers run. In the chain channel 1, an articulated conveyor chain 4, which is continuously driven by a gear motor, not shown, is guided by means of support and support rollers 5 and 6, respectively. A U-shaped support bracket 8 is attached to the conveyor chain 4 in the region of two adjacent support rollers 5 at support angles 7 projecting downward from the chain channel 1 and carries a further U-shaped support bracket 8 '. An axis 9, which extends between the chain channel 1 and the overhead conveyor 2 and runs parallel to the chain channel 1 and serves as a carrier of the coupling device K, is arranged in its upward-pointing leg. It consists of two mirror-image coupling jaws 10 and 11, which are mounted on the axis 9 with tabs bent at right angles and which - as illustrated in FIG. 2a with dash-dotted lines - can be swung out laterally, that is to say transversely to the conveying direction F. The coupling jaws 10 and 11, which are designed as sheet metal parts with an essentially L-shaped cross section, are provided with bevels 10 "and 11" at both ends of their interacting horizontal webs 10 'and 11' and have recesses 12 and 13 in the central area. which extend into the vertical web. The bevels 10 "and 11" of the two coupling shoes 10, 11 together form a V-shaped ramp R, while the recesses 12, 13 together form a rectangular pocket T.

The trolleys 3 movable on the overhead conveyor 2 consist of a front 14 and a rear roller carrier 15 with the rollers 16 and 17 and a U-shaped tubular bracket 18 connecting the two roller carriers. The front roller carrier 14 in the direction of conveyance F carries a short driving head 19 of the appropriate length in the pocket T and the rear roller carrier 15 in the conveying direction have a trigger head 20 which is approximately four times as long.

The operation of the drag chain conveyor is as follows:
  • 1 shows, the driving heads 19 of the two trolleys 3 running one behind the other are in the pockets T of the coupling devices K, so that the trolleys are moved in the conveying direction by means of the conveyor chain 4. At the destination, the trolleys are ejected from the conveyor line by means of switches, not shown, which are controlled manually or automatically, the driving head 19 sliding out of the pocket T of the coupling device K laterally. Uncoupling also takes place when the drawn trolley 3 with its front roller carrier 14 on the rear roller carrier 15 of a conveyor standing on the conveyor line wagon 3 drives up. The release head 20 of the stationary trolley enters the front ramp R and pushes the coupling jaws 10 and 11 sideways so far that the pocket T is opened and the driving head 19 of the pulled trolley can emerge from the rear of the coupling device. Since the release head 20 is longer than the pocket T, the opened coupling device K transfers the release head 20 of the stationary trolley. During further advance, the coupling device K comes into the area of the driving head 19 of the stationary trolley, which in turn now arrives in the ramp R and pushes the coupling jaws 10 and 11 outwards until the driving head 19 finally gets into the area of the pocket T and there it is shorter than this, the coupling jaws 10 and 11 pivot back under their own weight into the closed position, and take the trolley along with the driving head 19 which is locked in the pocket T. In the event of a traffic jam, each coupling device K overflows all the pent-up trolleys up to the foremost, so that the trolleys are taken one after the other.

The modified coupling device according to FIG. 3 differs only insignificantly from the device described above in terms of its structure and mode of operation. The coupling jaws 21, 22 are essentially flat, identical sheet metal parts which are mounted on the axis 9 with tabs bent at right angles and which have bevels 24 inclined at both ends towards the centrally provided recess 23. In this embodiment of the clutch shoes, the driving head 19 'and the release head 20' of the trolley 2, as shown in FIG. 3a, are to be provided with a domed roof through which the clutch shoes 21, 22, when their bevel 24 runs up, about the axis 9 to the outside be pivoted.

The coupling device according to the invention has both structural and functional advantages. It consists of a few easy-to-manufacture parts, which only have to perform simple movements about a longitudinal axis, which do not require springs or locking levers, and which thus ensure the greatest possible safety.
