Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for introducing solvents into the gas bottles of a bottle bundle.
It is known to use gases, for example acetylene, not only in individual steel bottles but also in bottle bundles in which several bottles are combined; save. Each bottle is provided with a porous mass and a solvent absorbed by the mass, e.g. Acetone, filled.
When acetylene is removed from a bottle or a bundle of bottles, a certain amount of solvent is always lost. Some of the solvent evaporates according to its partial pressure and is vaporized by the gas. leads, sometimes the solvent can even leave the bottle in the form of drops, for example at very high gas removal rates. It is therefore necessary from time to time to refill solvents in the bottles. To do this, remove the bottles from the bundle by separating them from the manifold connecting all the bottles. Then the The amount of solvent escaped from each bottle is determined and refilled.
German patent specification 21 13 409 discloses a method for refilling a solvent into an acetylene bottle bundle containing it, in which, when a bundle of bottles is refilled with acetylene, the solvent is admixed to the acetylene stream in the form of fine drops, the latter being adjusted so that solvent droplets are added the bottle bundle are entered. On the one hand, separate metering and mixing devices are required to carry out this method, and on the other hand, the amount of solvent introduced into the bottle bundle cannot be controlled with this method. Disassembling the bundle of bottles into individual bottles is only delayed in this way.
It is therefore an object of the invention to develop a method for introducing solvent into the gas bottles of a bottle bundle, with which a controlled amount of solvent can be introduced into a bottle bundle in a simple manner.
This object is achieved in that the solvent is introduced in liquid form and under pressure into the bottle bundle via a collecting line connecting the bottles of the bundle.
All that is required is to measure an amount of solvent corresponding to the loss of solvent and to press it into the collecting line of the bottle bundle. It is accepted that different amounts of solvent get into the individual bottles. So far, this approach was not feasible, since it was assumed that with an uneven solvent distribution would increase the risk of an explosion of the stored gas, such as acetylene. So you try according to the method described in German Patent 21 13 409, heavy drops that get caught at the entrance to the bottle bundle and. preferably get into the bottles mounted closer to this entrance, for example using a cyclone separator, to separate them from the lighter drops in order to achieve a more uniform solvent distribution in the bottles. The required expenditure of 'additional devices can be inventively avoided. Surprisingly, it was found that the method according to the invention does not give rise to the risk of bottles being destroyed by explosion. According to the invention, the missing amount of solvent is determined by measuring the weight and the temperature of the bottle bundle and comparing the results with the data of a corresponding bottle bundle filled with solvent. The amount of solvent determined in this way is pressed in liquid form under pressure, for example with a pump, into the collecting line of the bottle bundle. It is important that the bottles of the bundle are not closed individually after filling with solvent, but rather are opened and remain connected to one another via the collecting line. In this way it is achieved that a pressure wave triggered, for example, by burner re-ignition or high heat input into a bottle does not lead to destruction of the gas bottle, but rather to transfer of solvent from one bottle to another.
The proposed method has the advantage that a gas bottle bundle for filling with solvent no longer has to be disassembled into the individual bottles and these individual bottles have to be weighed, individually filled with solvent and reassembled into a bottle bundle. In addition, the proposed allows Check the amount of solvent added.
Since acetone e.g. in comparison with dimethylformamide has a higher vapor pressure and thus a relatively large amount of acetone escapes from a bottle when it is emptied, the process according to the invention is particularly suitable for supplementing acetone in an acetylene bottle bundle containing it.
The number of bottles that can be filled at the same time is practically unlimited. The filling process of an acetylene bottle bundle consisting of 13 bottles, each with a capacity of about 40 kg for acetylene, took about 7 to 8 hours, the solvent being pressed into the collecting line at a pressure of between 3 and 5 atm. After filling the solvent, acetylene is introduced into the bottles via the manifold.
