Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a container for liquids, with a sponge or the like liquid dispensing, which by means of a screw. cap or similar closable dispensing mouth lies in a plane substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the container.
The known container of this type, as it is currently on the market as a packaging and dispensing device for shoe lotion, is made of plastic and has the shape of a prism rounded at one end, the discharge mouth being in the region of the rounded end from one of the main surfaces of the container protruding nozzle protrudes, which is provided with an external thread for receiving a screw cap.
To manufacture the container, it is first made open by injection molding on its end face opposite the rounded end of the container. The container can then either be closed immediately by gluing in a base, the filling being carried out through the dispensing mouth, or the container is filled through the open end face and only then closed at this point.
In both cases, the filling of the container is extremely problematic because, on the one hand, the air present in the container can only escape with great difficulty when filling through the dispensing mouth and thus complicates the filling, and on the other hand, when filling through the open end of the container, it must be held since it yes is rounded at the opposite end and has no stand space.
This disadvantage of the prior art is remedied according to the invention, starting from a container of the type specified at the outset, in that the container consists, in a manner known per se, of a bottle-like part and a head part which is connected to it in a liquid-tight manner and has the dispensing mouth.
This design of the container makes it possible to manufacture the bottle-like part on a plastic container blowing machine and to fill it with a conventional filling machine without any problems, whereupon the head part, which is produced separately as an injection molded part, only needs to be placed on the filled bottle-like part. The construction of a container with a sponge-like liquid delivery from a bottle-like part and a liquid-tightly connected head part with the dispensing mouth is already known from US Pat. No. 3,390,941, but the known container is a container another genus, in that the discharge mouth is not in a plane substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the container, but is arranged axially with respect to the container. In particular, in the known container, a cup-shaped insert provided in its wall with through-openings for the liquid is pressed into a neck-shaped extension of the bottle-like part, which in turn supports the head part provided with the axial dispensing mouth, whereby by screwing or unscrewing a screw cap from the or on the head part of the latter with respect to the insert between two end positions is pivotable, in one of which the passage openings of the insert are released through openings aligned therewith in the wall of the head part, so that liquid contained in the bottle-like part in the head part and for Dispensing mouth can reach, and in the other the passage openings of the insert are closed by the wall of the head part. The division of the container into several parts takes place here for the purpose of creating an interruption in the connection between the interior of the container and the dispensing mouth as long as the container is not in use and not, as in the invention, to eliminate problems with regard to filling one Container with a discharge opening lying essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the container. In the case of a container having an axial discharge mouth there is no problem with the filling, so that such a container, if not for other special reasons as in the case of the construction discussed above, will be manufactured in one piece for cost reasons.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the container has a non-rotatable snap connection between a non-circular bottle-like part and the head part.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the bottle-like part has a neck-shaped extension into which a connecting piece arranged in the head part and connected to the dispensing mouth protrudes to form a liquid-tight connection.
In the drawing, the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment. 1 shows the bottle-like part and the head part of a container according to the invention in a front view and FIG. 2 shows the complete container in a side view, the individual parts of the container being separated from one another and partly shown in section in both figures.
The container shown, which is designated in its entirety by 1, consists essentially of a bottle-
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the head part 4 has a socket in its interior which is connected to the dispensing
For the snap connection between the bottle-
