Claims (1)

  1. Sewing machine with switchbox (7), provided with a selector switch (12) and with switch circuits, which can be selected by said selector switch for activating the sewing instrumentalities, acting upon the sewing material and also for activating auxilliary functions of the sewing machine, whilst the control functions of the switch circuits are indicated on the control panel of the switchbox (7) and also with at least one separate switch (9) associated to the selector switch (12), which separate switch (9) is arranged in the close operating range of the head (10) of the sewing machine, characterized in that
    1. in each position of the selector switch (12) at least two switch circuits are combined,
    2. the circuitry is constructed such, that after switching on the mains supply voltage, in any case - according to the selected switch position of the selector switch (12) - that switch circuit is actuated, which releases the foremost control function of all indicated functions,
    3. the separate switch (9) is connected to the circuitry in such a manner, that by operation of the separate switch (9) any circuit of the selected switch position can be alternatively activated,
    4. indicating means (16) are provided for making visible the switch condition of the separate switch (9).
