Farbkästen dieser Art werden im Farbwerk von Buchdruck- oder Offsetdruckmaschinen eingesetzt und dienen zur Aufnahme des Farbvorrates. Zum Einstellen der in das Farbwerk zu übertragenden Farbmenge werden z. B. Die bekannten Ausführungen haben alle den Nachteil, daß die sich relativ langsam drehende Farbkastenwalze die durch den Schlitz hindurchtretende Farbmenge nicht restlos aufnimmt und sich ein geringer Teil der Farbe an der Unterkante des Farbmessers absetzt. Es bilden sich hier Farbtröpfchen, die entweder in einer Farbauffangschale abtropfen oder am Farbmesser verhärten und festkleben. Beide Möglichkeiten machen einen zusätzlichen Reinigungsaufwand erforderlich. Die dritte Möglichkeit, daß die sich am Farbmesser ansammelnde Farbe auf die Farbkastenwalze gelangt und in unregelmäßigen Abständen von dieser ins Farbwerk transportiert wird, hat den Nachteil, daß hierdurch punktuell ein Überangebot an Farbe in das Farbwerk gelangt, sich in einer Veränderung der Farbgebung in diesem Bereich auswirkt. Der Folienstreifen verhindert somit ein Ansetzen und Abtropfen der Farbe und führt die am Farbmesser ablaufende geringe Farbmenge dem Farbfilm auf der Farbkastenwalze wieder zu.
