Abstract

For the electrolysis of an aqueous alkali chloride solution in a membrane cell with perforated Cation exchanger membrane, it is important that possible as few cations of multivalent metals as calcium, available. Otherwise, it happens to deposits inside the membrane. It was found the fact that they are caused by the cations mentioned open interference can be significantly reduced if the Alkali chloride solution an aliphatic polybasic Pho Sphonic acid or its alkali salt is added.
