Description

The invention relates to a device for tensioning the blanket on the blanket cylinder of rotary printing presses, the outer surface of which has a slot running parallel to the cylinder axis, which widens inwards and accommodates two rotatable tensioning spindles for tensioning the blanket, each provided with a longitudinal groove for inserting the blanket ends are, the two ends of the blanket have reinforcements.

In a known embodiment of this type (DE-AS 1 124051), the rubber blanket ends are provided with reinforcements which protrude beyond the rubber blanket on both sides. The protruding ends of the reinforcements are held on both sides by bushes after insertion into the slots of the clamping spindle. Only then can the tensioning spindles be turned to tension the blanket ends. The above reinforcements have the disadvantage that they can interfere with the handling of the rubber blankets outside of the machine, that they are exposed to excessive stresses when the rubber blanket ends are tensioned, so that the armatures bend and there is also the risk that the bushings hold the Reinforcements jam, so that changing the rubber blankets is difficult.

Another known device for tensioning the rubber blanket (DE-PS 1 239 706) does not use reinforcements on the rubber blanket ends and therefore requires tilting strips in the tensioning spindles, which are held in place by springs. In addition to the risk that the tilt bars slide out of the tension spindles when changing the rubber blanket and jam them, the known design has the further disadvantage that the rubber blanket ends can be inserted very difficult into the narrow slots between the tilt bar and tension spindle. If the ends are inserted unevenly, a different tension is generated over the length of the rubber blanket, which has a negative effect on the printed image. In addition, inserting the rubber blanket ends through the narrow slot in the cylinder jacket is very time-consuming and thus hinders the quick replacement of a rubber blanket.

The object of the invention is to provide a device for tensioning the rubber blanket which, using simple means, enables a uniform and secure tensioning of both rubber blanket ends and a simple and quick change of the rubber blanket.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that in the expanded space of the slot between the lateral surface of the rubber cylinder and the two clamping spindles, a support spindle is arranged in parallel and at such a small distance from the clamping spindles that the latter during the clamping process the parts of the reinforcements adjacent Angled rubber blanket, thereby fully pressing the reinforcements into the longitudinal groove and then preventing them from sliding out.

The support spindle arranged above the tensioning spindles is uncomplicated and enables both rubber blanket ends to be inserted quickly and easily. The support spindle also ensures a secure and even tensioning of the rubber blanket, because the two ends cannot slip out of the slots of the tensioning spindles due to the angling and are guided along their entire length. The support spindle can z. B. have a circular cross-section, the cross-section can be designed as a triangle with rounded corners and it could also have the shape of an angle with an outwardly pointing angle tip and rounded leg ends. After the two ends of the rubber blanket are supported on the support spindle in the tensioned state, a relatively small cross section can be selected for this.

In an advantageous embodiment, the support spindle has a circular cross-section with a smaller diameter than the clamping spindles and is freely rotatably mounted in bearings on both ends of the cylinder in bridges. Thus, the support spindle can rotate when the blanket ends are tensioned and enables the blanket to be changed quickly and easily. It can also be made relatively thin because it is supported on both sides by the stretched blanket ends.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the support spindle is arranged symmetrically to the clamping spindles and has a larger diameter than the space between the clamping spindles. This achieves an optimal tension of the two blanket ends.

Further refinements of the invention are characterized by the features of claims 4 to 6.

An embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawings. It shows
  • 1 shows a partial cross section through the tensioning device with inserted rubber blanket ends,
  • 1 shows a partial cross section through the tensioning device with a tensioned rubber blanket,
  • 3 shows a longitudinal section through the mounting of the clamping spindles and the freely rotatable support spindles,
  • 4 shows a partial cross section through the clamping device with a triangular support spindle,
  • 5 and 6 longitudinal sections through the clamping device.

A rubber blanket 2 is stretched onto the rubber cylinder 1 in a known manner Ends 3, 4 are inserted through a slot 5 in the outer surface of the blanket cylinder. The slot 5 widens inwards and accommodates two clamping spindles 6, 7. Each tensioning spindle 6, 7 is provided with a longitudinal groove 8 into which the rubber blanket ends are inserted. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the ends 3, 4 of the rubber blanket 2 are provided with reinforcements 9. By rotating the spindles 6, 7, each end 3, 4 of the rubber blanket 2 can be tensioned separately.

As can be seen in the exemplary embodiment shown (FIGS. 1 and 2), a support spindle 10 is provided in the expanded space between the outer surface of the blanket cylinder 1 and the two clamping spindles 6, 7 in parallel and at a short distance from both, which can rotate freely in bearings 11 on both Cylinder end faces is stored. The support spindle 10 is arranged symmetrically to the clamping spindles and has a smaller diameter than these. However, the diameter is larger than the distance between the clamping spindles.

In Fig. 1, the end 4 of the blanket 2 is already inserted into the longitudinal groove 8 of the clamping spindle 7 and this is rotated somewhat counterclockwise, so that the protruding end 4 is supported on the clamping spindle 10 and angled. As a result, the reinforcement 9 is pressed into the longitudinal groove 8 and cannot slide out. The other end 3 of the rubber blanket 2 is inserted into the groove 8 of the clamping spindle 6, which is in the starting position for inserting the rubber blanket end.

The embodiment shown in Fig. 2 shows the tensioned state of the rubber blanket 2 again, in which both clamping spindles 6 and 7 are rotated with the two ends 3, 4 of the rubber blanket 2 so far that the rubber blanket 2 is firmly clamped on the outer surface of the rubber cylinder 1 is. The support spindle 10 can rotate when tensioning the rubber blanket and prevents the ends 3, 4 of the rubber blanket from slipping out, so that these are securely stretched over their entire length. Due to the small diameter of the support spindle 10, the two blanket ends can be easily inserted. In the tensioned state of the rubber blanket 2, the two rubber blanket ends rest against the support spindle 10 on both sides, so that the latter cannot bend.

In Fig. 3 it is shown that the support spindle 10 is rotatably mounted with its pin 12 in the bearing 11. The clamping spindles 6 are also rotatably mounted with their pins 13, 14, the mounting being carried out in a bridge 18 fastened to the plate cylinder 1. The clamping spindle 7 can be rotated via a worm 15 and a worm wheel 16. In the clamping spindle 6, the worm and the worm wheel are arranged on the opposite side of the cylinder, not shown.

The embodiment according to FIG. 4 differs from FIGS. 1 and 2 in that instead of a support spindle 10 with a circular cross section, a support spindle 10 'with an approximately triangular cross section was chosen. The support spindle 10 'is not rotatably mounted in the bridges 18 and also enables a uniform and secure tensioning and a simple change of the rubber blanket.

Hiermit läßt sich insbesondere bei schmalen Maschinen eine sichere und gleichmäßige Spannung des Gummituches 2 erreichen.5 shows instead of a support spindle 10 on the inside of the bridge 18 in the area of the rubber blanket 2 arranged support bolts 19 which are rotatably or rigidly mounted in the bridges 18. This enables a safe and uniform tensioning of the rubber blanket 2 to be achieved, particularly in the case of narrow machines.

Insbesondere bei breiten Maschinen kann mit einer konischen Stützspindel eine Winkelverdrehung der Spannspindeln 6, 7 ausgeglichen werden, so daß eine gleichmäßige Spannung über die ganze Breite des Gummituches erreicht wird.6, the support spindle 17 is conical with the smaller diameter on the side of the worm wheels 16, both of which are provided on the same side in the exemplary embodiment shown. In the case of wide machines in particular, an angular rotation of the tensioning spindles 6, 7 can be compensated for with a conical support spindle, so that a uniform tension is achieved over the entire width of the rubber blanket.
