Description

The invention relates to a snap hook with a drop brake, which has a cable coupling part provided with a screwed-on cover plate and a brake channel enclosed between the two, in which a cable can be clamped and only slips frictionally when a predetermined drop force is exceeded.

A snap hook of the type mentioned is known (DE-U 75 07 128), in which a rope is arranged in a brake channel and a rope brake pin. At one end of a brake body there is a suspension eye that can be assembled with an eye of the snap hook to attach the drop brake e.g. to attach to a scaffold. To influence the braking force, an adjustable, pointed clamping piece is available across the brake channel. The drop brake forms with the snap hook a device that is movable in itself and is relatively cumbersome to handle. The total length of the drop brake and snap hook is considerable and the total weight is comparatively large, so that the drop brake is usually used on the side of the scaffolding, which can lead to operating difficulties. The adjustable, only point-acting clamping piece of the known drop brake can not be easily adjusted exactly. In practice, this has resulted in the setting required for the rope used being incorrectly made or changed, so that the function of the drop brake has been disturbed.

In contrast, the invention has for its object to improve a snap hook of the type described above so that it has a simpler structure and is easier and safer to use. This object is achieved in that the cable coupling part is formed by the hook body itself, the width of the brake channel arranged in the hook body itself being selected such that the cable or the like can be clamped between a contact surface on the hook body and the cover plate or the cover plates is, and that the hook body and the cover plate or the cover plates in the area of the brake channel is designed as a hook handle. The advantage of simpler handling is that the risk of accidents is reduced.

Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Further advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.

The person 10 at risk of falling who is exposed at an exposed point 11 wears a belt 12 to which a snap hook 14 provided with a fall brake 13 is connected. A rope 15 connects the person 10 via the snap hook 14 to a holding structure or another type of carrier 16. The rope end 15 ′ on the person side is pulled by the fall brake 13 and slidably coupled to the rope 15.

The catch 18 is to be pivoted inward toward a hinge pin 19 against the force of a spring located in its interior in the direction of the hook body 17, so that the hook opening becomes free. To secure the catch 18 in the position shown, a screw closure 20 is provided in the form of a threaded sleeve, which can be screwed onto a thread of the catch 18 and has the free end of the hook body 17 in its one end position. The upper end of the hook body 17 is formed by a cable coupling part 21, which is integral with the hook body 17. Fig. 3 shows the shell-like structure of the cable coupling part 21, which allows the hook body 17 strength cross-sections easily adapted. The cable coupling part 21 forms part of the brake channel 22, the other part of which is formed by the cover plate 23 acting as a clamping piece. The brake channel 22 is in the form of a cable loop and has an inlet 24 and an outlet 25 or vice versa at the free end 26 of the cable coupling part 21. The diameter or the width of the brake channel 22 is matched to the diameter of the rope 15. The cable loop head 27 of the brake channel 22 permits the arrangement of a cable deflection web 28 in its interior, which results in a shape of the brake channel 22 which is adapted to the shape of the cable loop head 27. The circular cylindrical rope deflection web 28 is flattened on both ends at its ends and engages with the flats 29 in correspondingly wide slots 30 or 31 of the cable coupling part 21 or the cover plate 23. The slots 30 and 31 are formed slightly longer than the diameter of the cable deflection web 28, so that it can be moved to a limited extent in the direction of the longitudinal axis 38 of the snap hook.

The hook body 17 and the hook handle 32 formed by the cable coupling part 21 and the cover plate 23 are rigidly connected to one another and arranged longitudinally in one plane. The hook handle 32 is kept flat corresponding to the hook body 17 and its large width does not exceed the greatest width of the hook body 17. Above and below the rope loop head 27, grip recesses 33 are arranged in the narrow sides of the hook handle 32. The recessed grips 33 improve the handiness of the snap hook 14. The recessed grips 33 also save material and thus reduce the weight of the snap hook 14.

The assembly of the snap hook 14 or the cable coupling part 21 with the cover plate 23 is carried out with the aid of the screws 34, which are screwed through holes 35 in the cover plate 23 into threaded holes in the hook body 17. The screws 34 are arranged in a plane that extends obliquely to the longitudinal axis 38 of the snap hook 14 through the deflection web 28. The screw on the hook body side is arranged facing away from the catch 18 of the snap hook 14 and the screw facing away from the hook body is arranged in an eye of the hook handle 32 located to the side of the brake channel 22. Outside the cable loop head 27 and the brake channel 22, the cable coupling part 21 has a ledge 36 projecting in the direction of the cover plate 23 and the cover plate 23 has a correspondingly designed groove 37, so that the hook body 17 and the cover plate 23 engage in a positive manner in the longitudinal direction of the snap hook 14, as a result of which the screws 34 are relieved.

The rope 15 can be clamped so strongly in the brake channel 22 by the drop brake that slipping is only possible if a predetermined load on the hook is exceeded by the cover plate 23. Only then does the rope end 15 'slide into the brake channel 22 and around the deflection web 28. It rubs against the boundary walls of the brake channel 22 and on the deflection web 28 and on the rope sections touching each other. The deflection web 28 is pulled upward and thus increases the rope friction by clamping. The length of the brake channel above the cable loop head 27 is adapted to the requirements, but can be kept so short that no brake force adjustment bolt needs to be provided in this area. To regulate the braking force, it is sufficient that the deflection web 28 designed as a rope brake pin is exchanged for another rope brake pin, the diameter and / or the shape of which is changed according to the requirements.

The carabiner 40 shown in FIGS. 4, 5 has a hook body 41, the lower end of which has flats 42 on both sides. At the lower end of the cable coupling part 43 formed in this way, the cable 15 is looped around the deflection web 44, which is formed by the recess 45. Cover plates 46 are provided on both sides of the flattened part of the hook body 41 and serve as clamping pieces. These cover plates 46 enclose the cable coupling part 43 between them and are fastened to one another by screws 47 engaging in threaded bores 49. The upper screws penetrate the cable coupling part 43 through the bores 48, while the lower screws 47 are arranged below the deflection bar 44 which is kept short downwards. Each cover plate 46 has a recess 50 in adaptation to the deflection web 44. These and recesses in the lower projections 51 form a brake channel. In this, the two strands of the rope 15 fed in and out below run next to one another to below the deflection web 44, which is wrapped in a twisted manner.

The carabiner 40a shown in FIGS. 6, 7 differs from the carabiner 40 of FIGS. 4, 5 only in that it is adapted for braking a band 53. The deflection web 44 forms a brake channel together with the adjacent surfaces of the recesses 50 of the cover plates 46.

The snap hook 54 shown in FIG. 8 has a deflection web 55 which is just as long downward as the two cover plates 46, which serve as clamping pieces. This increases the braking area between the deflection web 55 and the clamping pieces.

In the snap hook 56 shown in FIG. 9 there is only one cover plate 46 serving as a clamping piece and the snap hook is provided with threaded bores 57 for screwing the cover plate 46. This forms a brake channel ensuring lateral guidance of the band 53. through a corresponding recess in the lower projection 51. The band 53 is guided between the deflection web 58 and the cover plate 46 and through the recess 59 to the other side of the snap hook 56, which is rounded there accordingly, so that the band 53 not only downwards , but as shown, can also run upwards. By using only one cover plate 46, the braking area is reduced. The corrugated surface of the cover plate 46 and the deflection web 58 increases the braking surface. Of course, the shape of the snap hook 56 of the corrugated cover plate 46 is adapted.

If only a cover plate 46 'is used as the clamping piece, it is recommended according to FIG. 10 an only one-sided flattening of the snap hook 60 shown there, which has 61 threaded holes 62 in the cable coupling part for receiving the screws 47. The cover plate 46 'is held so flat that the strength of the snap hook 60 is not increased in the handle area shown. The band 53 is passed on the same side of the snap hook 60 between the latter and the cover plate 46 'and can be guided around the upper and lower edges forming the deflection webs. The edges of the cover plate 46 'or the snap hook 60 are rounded accordingly. To relieve the screws 47, the snap hook 60 has projections 63 which engage on both sides of the band 53 in corresponding recesses 64 in the cover plate 46 '. If the band 53 is loaded downward under deflection around the deflection web, a force transmission takes place essentially via the projections 63. Such relief of the screw connections can also be applied to the snap hooks of FIGS.

The strength of the clamping of a rope or band depends on the force exerted by the screw connection, or on the dimensioning of a rope or band channel, or on the setting of the contact force of the springs 65 e.g. 10 by means of the screws 47.
