Abstract

The invention relates to a hinge module for connecting catamaran-type vessel's platform and hull. The two hinge modules of the vessel enable to turn hulls and change draft. The hinge module consists of a watertight pipe (3), a connecting plate of the platform (2) and a connecting plate of the hull (4) connected through alternately positioned connecting elements (1, 6), and the saddle (5) to the pipe (3). The connecting plate of the hull (4) is turnable around pipe axis Z in half ring extent and the pipe measurements have to correspond to the following requirements: D≥H, D≈1/9 L, where D is the pipe diameter, H is structural hight of the catamaran's platform, L is the length of the pipe. The pipe guarantees necessary strength and especially torsional stiffness for the catamaran and enables the turning of hull (8) in half-ring range. By turning the hinge modules it is possible to raise the hulls above the waterline into vertical position in order to either repair or maintain the hulls and propulsion devices or to berth the vessel in tight conditions. Use of the hinge module when designing and building catamaran-type vessels makes the whole process quicker.
