The gas stream is cooled and divided into first and second streams. The first stream is further cooled, expanded at a lower pressure, and then fed as a raw material into the zone between the first and second absorption devices. The second stream expands at a lower pressure and is fed as feed to the lower part of the second absorption device. The stripping vapor stream from the absorption device is heated, compressed to a higher pressure, and separated into a volatile fraction of the residual gas and a compressed recirculated stream. The compressed recycle stream is cooled, expanded at a lower pressure, and then fed as feed to the upper zone of the first absorption device. The flow of the distillation condensate from the lower second absorption device is heated in the heat and mass transfer device, freeing from volatile components.
