Abstract

Настоящее изобретение предлагает систему и способ обеспечения улучшенных свойств для потоковых систем видео по заказу. Система содержит медиа сервер и клиентский проигрыватель, причём пользователь может выбирать желательное видео для передачи из медиа сервера клиентскому проигрывателю для последующего отображения для пользователя через клиентский проигрыватель. Система содержит механизм, который позволяет пользователю интерактивно выбирать желательную новую начальную точку для отображения сигнала выбранного видео. Этот механизм обеспечивается первой и второй сериями кадров с доступными для поиска индексами, причём первая серия генерируется медиа сервером в процессе передачи сигнала выбранного видео, а вторая серия генерируется клиентским проигрывателем в процессе приёма сигнала выбранного видео. При получении клиентским проигрывателем желательной новой начальной точки происходит обращение к первой или второй серии для идентификации требуемого кадра с доступным для поиска индексом, который наилучшим образом представляет желательную новую начальную точку. Отображение видео клиентским проигрывателем начинается вслед за этим с требуемого кадра с доступным для поиска индексом.
