Abstract

Датчик излучения и/или формирователь изображения образуется созданием слоев двух материалов (7, 1, 9), имеющих разные атомные номера (Z), вокруг детектора (3, 5 излучения), как, например, сцинтиллятора или счетчиков излучения типа Гейгера-Мюллера или твердотельных детекторов излучения, как, например, изготовленных из кремния. В одном воплощении настоящего изобретения тонкий слой свинца (1) помещается на одной стороне счетчика (3, 5) излучения Гейгера-Мюллера, а слой лусита (7, 9) располагается на противоположной стороне. Размещением материала (1) с высоким Z на одной стороне счетчика (3, 5) излучения и материала (7, 9) с низким Z на противоположной стороне счетчика (3, 5) излучения возможно обнаруживать фото-Комптоновские электроны, испускаемые из материала (7, 1, 9) с высоким или низким Z в прямом и обратном направлениях, и ослабление испускаемых электронов материалом (1) с высоким Z. Настоящее изобретение может обнаруживать интенсивности излучения до уровней фонового излучения.Международная заявка была опубликована вместе с отчетом о международном поиске.
