Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for removing petroleum products from the surface of rivers and seas.
A known method of cleaning the water surface from oil products (Aut. St. USSR No. 1305128, C02B 1/28, 1987, BI No. 15), comprising spraying a sorbent based on styrene butadiene rubber into an oil-polluted area, after which they give time from 10 to 40 min for the absorption of petroleum products by the sorbent material, which is made in the form of crumbs to increase the absorption surface, for example, from waste products from rubber products.
However, due to the cost of manufacturing crumbs, the difficulties of uniformly spraying and collecting from the surface to be cleaned, as well as regeneration, the known method is not effective.
The known method is also unacceptable (Avt. St. USSR No. 1407859, B63B 35/32, 1988, BI No. 25) of the sludge of the oil-water mixture for 7-8 hours in the oil collection system of the vessel due to the low productivity of such systems.
The closest in technical essence to the claimed is the method implemented in the device (Aut. St. USSR No. 1390127, BV 35/32, 1988, BI No. 15 (prototype)) for pumping and separating the oil-water mixture, adopted as a prototype. Contaminated water in the water area with a propeller is sucked into the receiving compartment of the vessel, which has a sealed chamber with an opening from the bottom. Water is pumped into the receiving compartment until its level reaches the receiving hole from the bottom of the sealed chamber. Then a vacuum is created in the sealed chamber and contaminated water is sucked into the chamber. Petroleum products having a specific gravity less than water float up. Light components from the contaminated water passing under the opening of the chamber come into the same chamber, displacing water from the latter.
The main disadvantage of the prototype is the irrational use of the volume of the sealed chamber, in the upper part of which gases accumulate, which are rapidly released from contaminated water during a sharp change in pressure, which is reduced by a vacuum pump. These gases during operation occupy an increasing volume of the sealed chamber, as they cannot return back to the solution due to the layer of oil products above the liquid column in the chamber.
The technical result, to which the invention is directed, is to increase the productivity of the technological process of purification from oil products of the water surface.
The specified result is achieved by the fact that in the method of cleaning the upper surface of oil products, which consists in the fact that a layer of contaminated water is directed inside the receiving compartment of the vessel and the oil products are taken into a sealed chamber communicating with the upper part of the compartment through an opening with a locking member. With the hole closed, the chamber is filled with overboard water and sealed. They open a hole and, due to atmospheric pressure, maintain a column of liquid in the chamber with the replacement of water in it with oil products.
The method is implemented as follows.
Outboard water, the specific gravity of which is greater than unity due to the salt content, is poured into sealed chambers before starting cleaning, and the chambers are closed to ensure their tightness. Then, the receiving compartment is filled with contaminated water so that its level exceeds the level of the arrangement of the lower openings of the sealed chambers. After that, open the lower holes of the chambers. Under the influence of gravity, part of the water will pour out of the chambers, but as soon as atmospheric pressure from the outside balances the column of water inside the chamber, the pouring of water will stop and columns will form in each chamber, the height of which depends on the volume of the sealed chamber. If the water in the receiving compartment will cover the lower openings of the sealed chambers, preventing the penetration of atmospheric air inside, the formed water columns will not require any additional efforts to maintain them. Since each of the water columns is in contact with contaminated water, the lighter components of this water, i.e. petroleum products, the specific gravity of which is less than unity, will rise up under the influence of the Archimedean force, displacing heavier water from airtight chambers. If you create a continuous flow of contaminated water under the openings of the chambers, then this exchange of clean water for pollutants will occur until each chamber is completely filled with oil products. The filling time of the chambers has a functional dependence on the volume of the chambers, the quantity and volumetric weight of oil products and the optimal speed of movement of contaminated water under the openings of the sealed chambers. As soon as the chambers are filled with petroleum products, close the lower holes and transport the chambers to the pollutant discharge point, where they open both holes: the upper and lower holes in each of the chambers, and the contents of the chambers are poured out by gravity.
е. Implementation of the proposed method is possible on ordinary garbage collection vessels without their cardinal alteration. The supply of contaminated water to the receiving compartment may be due to the movement of the vessel, raking in the nasal opening of the upper layer of water from the water area. Installation of pressurized chambers in the compartment with devices for opening and closing the upper and lower holes of each of the chambers will not be a problem. Overfilling the chambers with overboard water can be done with a ship pump or a conventional pump. In the event of catastrophic pollution of the water area, the garbage or oil collector vessel can be equipped with a large number of spare sealed chambers and a mechanism for replacing chambers with collected oil products with empty ones or with water, and transportation of empty (spare) chambers and then filled with oil products can be carried out by transporting them afloat after the vessel , i.e. towing.
