Abstract

The scrubbing of waste gas from a fishmeal dryer 1 is undertaken in at least two scrubber stages 7 and 9 connected in series. The scrubbing water from the first 7 of these stages is used to heat the first stage 14 of a multistage evaporator 14, 20 for size from the fishmeal manufacturing. Steam given off by scrubbing water from the second scrubbing stage 9 is used for heating in a later stage 20 of the multistage evaporator. In a system for use in the method, the necessary vacuum is produced in the multistage evaporator 14, 20, an intermediate vessel 18 and any instantaneous evaporator 23 for size forming part of the system in a condenser 40 connected to the later stage 20 of the multistage evaporator. <IMAGE>
