Abstract

Metal plate section, consisting of an upper flange 2 which merges at its upper edges with two web flanges 3 which slope in relation to said section and are designed with rigidifying areas 7, each web flange merging at its lower edge with an outwardly bent lower flange 4. The upper flange 2 is considerably wider than the lower flanges 4. In order to achieve simple production of the section 1 and improved rigidity and strength and a reduced bucking tendency, the centremost part of the upper flange 2 is markedly vaulted in cross section, the vaulting arching upwards in relation to the web flanges 3, and the upper flange 2 comprises, at the point where it meets each of the web flanges 3, a rigidifying bend 9. The transition between the upper flange 2 and each of the web flanges 3 preferably also comprises a rigidifying ridge 8 running in the longitudinal direction of the section 1. <IMAGE>
