Abstract

This concerns a transmission system for digital information signals and a circuit for encoding and decoding digital information signals, in particular for digital sound transmission via satellites, with an encoder on the transmitting side and a decoder on the receiving side, where the information signals which are to be transmitted are combined on the transmitting side with a generator polynomial in such a way that control bits are added to the information signals which are to be transmitted, which control bits are produced from an arithmetic combination of the information signals and the generator polynomial.
