Claims (7)
1. Fremgangsmåde til isolering af et carotenoid fra en carotenoidproducerende bioorganisme, som omfatter følgende trin (i) ekstraktion af carotenoidet fra biomassen ved hjælp af mindst ét opløsningsmiddel (I) og (ii) eventuelt mindst ét vasketrin ved anvendelse af mindst ét opløsningsmiddel (II), der er ikke-blandbart med opløsningsmiddel (I), og (iii) eventuelt tørring af den opnåede opløsning, der omfatter carotenoidet, der er kendetegnet ved, at der efter trin (i) udføres mindst ét vasketrin ved anvendelse af en vandig opløsning af en Brønsted-syre (trin (i')), hvor Brønsted-syren er valgt fra gruppen, der består af citronsyre, vinsyre og maleinsyre.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor koncentrationen af den vandige opløsning af Brønsted-syren er mellem 0,5 og 10 vægt-% baseret på den samlede vægt af den vandige opløsning.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af ovennævnte krav, hvor fremgangsmåden udføres portionsvis eller kontinuerligt.
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af ovennævnte krav, hvor ekstraktionen (trin (i)) sædvanligvis udføres ved en temperatur under kogepunktet for opløsningsmidlet.
5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af ovennævnte krav, hvor ekstraktionen af carotenoidet fra biomassen udføres i mindst ét ikke-vandblandbart opløsningsmiddel.
6. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 5, hvor hvor ekstraktionen af carotenoidet fra biomassen udføres i mindst ét opløsningsmiddel valgt fra gruppen, der består af CH2CI2, chloroform, n-heptan og n-hexan.
7. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af ovennævnte krav, hvor der mindst udføres vasketrin (trin (ii)) efter trin (i) og før og/eller efter trin (ii).
